Pokemon: Ultimate Generations - Chapter 74
Gan continued to sleep conformably in his tent, not knowing the true extent of chaos he had caused recently. Once the sun was good and high, Gan was awakened by the sunlight piercing through his tent.
Gan slowly opened his eyes and looked towards Growlithe before stretching and yawning. Sitting up, he grabbed a pair of pants and got dressed.
“Time to cook up some breakfast.” Growlithe was still fast asleep, so he didn’t bother her but he would need to give her a pill later.
“Come over guys, its time to eat something. I’m about to cook something up really quick.” Right as he saw that, all three Rhyhorn came running over. Graveler stopped pretending to be some overgrown rock and proceed to roll over as well.
Haunter also appeared, but she didn’t really need anything to eat to sustain her. Gan tossed a decent amount of Raspberries at her, as she caught them with her large mouth. Afterward, he recalled her, it was best to not be seen with this Pokemon in this place.
“My trail or any clues about me and that heist must be concealed.” Gan couldn’t let Haunter hover around for long, she was the primary culprit in that heist. He could wait until he was out of this territory to use her again.
Gan used a propane tank to heat up his skillet. The propane tank said Golden Tauros on it, which displayed…what appeared to be a shiny Tauros. Gan knew that this was just the brand of some company, but for it to be used in a Pokemon way was quite amusing to him.
Gan just gave the Rhyhorn group and Graveler a few berries for now. Once he was done with frying what he was currently making, is when he would give them more. Gan sat over the frying pan nonchalantly, thinking to himself and looking around.
He could hear several Pidgey chirping all around him; Gan could see quite the number of them glaring at the pan with coveting gazes.
“Funny little fellas.” Gan couldn’t help but smile seeing them, their little eyes and heads turned and moved wherever Gan steered the pan.
Gan placed the pan down—when one of the Pidgeys couldn’t take it anymore and grew bold. It swooped down, attempting to steal a sausage off the pan.
Graveler turned its rocky body before doing a three-sixty spin. Its arms quickly came over and smacked the Pidgey, sending it flying! It left a trace of feathers when it was knocked away, shocking Gan.
Gan looked in the area in which it flew and saw it lying there unmoved. He quickly went over and sprayed it with a Super Potion before walking away. The potion needed time to activate and seep in.
“Careful, you almost killed the poor guy.” Gan looked at Graveler and shook his head. Graveler gazed at the Pidgey and simply nodded.
Gan placed the Pidgey in a bush and left it at that, it was a good thing it didn’t have any broken bones. However, it would think twice before trying to steal someone else’s food down the line.
In any case, Gan continued to cook up breakfast, this pan was bigger than the norm. This allowed him to add other breakfast foods to it, like eggs. Once they were done, Gan ate his filled before feeding them to the group of Rhyhorn and Graveler.
Growlithe woke up and he simply gave her what was leftover and some Raspberries to soothe her hunger.
“Let’s see, I put the drone on auto-pilot, so it should arrive at my location over time.” Gan pulled out the remote control device to search for its location.
“Oh, it’s about 60 meters away from me!” Gan was stunned, he honestly didn’t expect the device to make it this far.
“Growlithe, you follow me. You guys, stay here and watch the camp—don’t let anyone or anything get into our stuff.” Gan looked between them and ordered. They all gave a cry and turned back to nibbling on their food.
With that, Gan set off to quickly retrieve his drone. He remembered this small part of the forest; this was where that Nido nest was. Gan quietly walked through the forest with Growlithe before he stopped to give Growlithe her medicine.
Gan pulled out a bottle of water and had her drink it with the pill. He had to stay on top of these pills, Gan had to make sure he didn’t forget.
Gan continued on under the guidance of the GPS, which displayed the location of the drone. Eventually, he spotted the drone, it was under a bush sitting in the dirt.
“As I expected, it ran out of battery power in its attempt to get to my location.” Gan smiled before storing the drone.
Making back to camp, Gan went into his tent again to check some more of his loot. This time, he wanted to check those Mega stones out.
“I wonder which stones she managed to get? I hope they’re good ones.” Gan sighed, he hoped none of them were from Sinnoh because that was someways away.
Gan’s plan was to travel and complete each region in the order they were presented back in his world. He unhurriedly pulled out each mega stone, he didn’t appraise them because he wanted to do it all at once.
Gan’s gaze focused on the mega stones, which were exactly the same in size before analyzing them.
…
[Gengarite: This item, when held, allows for the Pokémon to Mega Evolve in battle.

[Steelixite: This item, when held, allows for the Pokémon to Mega Evolve in battle.
[Metagrossite: This item, when held, allows for the Pokémon to Mega Evolve in battle.

Each mega stone was the size of a tennis ball and each glimmered with different exotic color combinations.
Gan’s eyes widen with joy, despite not getting the mega stone for Alakazam. However, he got a mega stone for Gengar. Gengar was a part of his Team Rocket team, so this would fit well if he appeared again using it.
“Most of them are for Hoenn region’s Pokemon, but there are more Hoenn Megas.” Gan understood this much, this was why he ended up getting a single Gen 1 stone.
‘Perhaps Haunter felt some connection with the Gengarite stone. This could be why she picked it up in a last-ditch effort before escaping the lab.’ Gan thought. He strongly believed this was why because the chances of her grabbing something so convenient weren’t very likely.
Either or, this was good for Gan!
Growlithe looked curiously at the colorful glimmering stones. She seemed to be lost in the stone’s beauty, as she couldn’t keep her eyes off of them.
“I need an activation stone to even use these.” Gan sighed, he could only wait until there was an opportunity of some sort. There was no way he was going back to Prof. Oak’s lab for another robbery…ever again!
Gan put the mega stones away with a wide smile before leaving his tent. He brushed his teeth and used a bottle of water to rinse his mouth afterward.
Kadabra was summoned to help him take down the tent. After everything was stored away and the recall of his Pokemon, it was time to head to Viridian city. The Black Market was the first thing to come to Gan’s mind.
As he was nearing the entrance of the city, Gan saw that the entrance had been blocked off. It was blockaded by a group of officers. One of the officers had a Poliwrath out, it was swaying back and forth as if it was prepared to fight at any moment.
Further beyond that, Gan could see a man sitting on a Rapidash. He had sharp eyes and a cold expression that exuded command and a bit of arrogance. They were wearing light blue officer outfits, but his outfit was dark blue instead.

“Hold it. Where are you coming from, kid?” A muscular officer halted Gan and questioned.
“Route 3.” Gan pointed behind him with his thumb, answering bluntly.
“…..” Silence.
“…..” A few officers were speechless.
“Aaron, don’t ask him such stupid questions! It’s obvious where he’s coming from!” This particular officer didn’t like working with brawns and no brains kinda guy.
“Oh, that is where route 3 is, hehe, my bad.” Aaron scratched his head and laughed lightly.
“Kid, what have you been doing on route 3 this whole time? Don’t be nervous, we have a situation that needs to be handled carefully.” The man with the Poliwrath questioned.
‘The hell, they already moved to lock down the city, my gosh!’ Gan was secretly shocked. This Prof. Oak wasn’t pulling any punches!
“I was camping out there, just enjoying nature and whatnot, you know, that good stuff.” Gan wasn’t worried, there was no way they could ever figure out that he was the perpetrator in this.
“Hmm…” The man’s eyes narrowed as he starred into Gan’s eyes—as if he was trying to figure him out. Gan didn’t look away and starred right back into his eyes with a deadpanned expression.
“I’d like to see your identification.” The officer finally spoke. Gan didn’t waste any time and showed the officer his Id.
“Oh…” The officer’s expression lightened up after seeing Gan’s Id.
“Well, sorry to hold you up Mr. Arson, you can pass. However, you won’t be able to leave for Pewter for a time, at least, not for a week. This is when they will allow trainers such as yourself to pass; this is just protocol.”
Gan frowned deeply, he wanted to leave here and head to Pewter and eventually Cerulean City to challenge Misty again.
“Hehe, don’t be so down, you might be able to pass earlier than that. After all, you’re a trainer who has a badge already.” This was quite an impressive feat in his eyes, in fact, it was so in most people’s eyes.
“Ah, so this kid has a Gym badge.” The man on the Rapidash seemed to have overheard the conversation. Rapidash slowly walked over, with the man showing surprise and a bit of interest.
“This is pretty good. I gave up challenging the league when I ran into Sabrina. I couldn’t defeat her no matter what.” The man sighed, he wasn’t even that old, with his age only being twenty-six.
“From the looks of it, you’re probably going to challenge Misty next, right?” The man speculated, it was the closest to Pewter City, so this was the obvious next destination.
“Yes, I’ve lost to her already. I’ve come back here to reflect and relax until I was ready to challenge her again.” Gan seemed modest, but he didn’t lie in the least, he had been defeated by her and this was somewhat of a reflection. Kinda…
“Ah, what great will you have. Don’t give up and keep going, things are about to change in the league. New talents are about to rise, and challenge the league; there may finally be a champion in the next year or so for Kanto.”
Everyone knew that Kanto lacked a Champion. People like Lance were actually the Champion for the Johto region. He was only filling in as an Elite 4 member here in Kanto for the time being.
AN: Yes, I separated the Kanto and Johto League in this way. Though, originally, the Elite changed over the year to the ones of Heart Gold and Soul Silver. I wanted to make them separate for this.
“You may pass, keep that strong will and stand up to those hard challenges. Most give up, but don’t be like them and keep going.” The man said with a smile.
“Thanks, I won’t give up.” Gan didn’t know what to say really, this guy was saying this to him, yet he had given up on himself. It was a little weird to Gan, so he didn’t talk much about it to avoid possibly offending him.
Gan easily walked past him and entered the city unhindered.
“I might need to quit this job and go back and challenge that Sabrina.” The man was conflicted. Seeing that Gan had a badge, a fire had lit in him once more.
…
Meanwhile, Gan ventured into the city where he could see officers patroling almost everywhere. Some people were being questioned about what they had seen last night and more.
“I need to go pick up my Pokemon from the Pokemon Center.” Gan shook his head. He may need to lay low as a Team Rocket member for a bit.
There was no doubt in his mind that the Viridian City Branch was dumbfounded by these events. At least, they would take the heat for it if they were found out.
Gan shrugged at the thought and made his way towards the Pokemon Center.. Afterward, he wanted to check out the Black Market to see if he could sell this Spatial backpack.
