Power Of Redemption - Chapter 33
Proximo
I wasn’t sure what happened, but all of a sudden a bright light shined where Hrudra and the others were. It was so bright that I had to shield my eyes from what happened, it even felt like I had burned my pupils due to how bright it was.
There was a loud scream before everything went silent, the bright light slowly disappearing within thin air showing the horrified yet confused faces surrounding the battle. Even the vampires and wolves had stopped fighting each other to see what had caused the bright light.
I could feel the emptiness within me growing as I took a few steps towards Mira and the other man. The faint outline of Hrudra and Maia’s bodies laid limp on the ground when I rushed over to them.
“Maia!” Mira cried when Maia started coughing harshly, trying to gain air in her small body as I cradled Hrudra’s face and cold body. I shook her harshly, the wounds on her face and arms disappearing while a large purple bruise spread across her throat and collarbone like she was strangled.
“Hrudra…” I shook her again, not feeling her rise up when tears threatened to come from my eyes. “Please, mate… Wake up. Please wake up.” I sniff, pulling her body against mine and refusing the vast emptiness within me.
“Proximo. Allow me.” A man said, squeezing my shoulder and coaxing me to let her back on the ground. The man stared at me with red eyes and a gentle smile on his face despite the situation.
I watched in shock as he knelt down beside Hrudra and placed a pale palm on her face. I barely heard Mira tell someone to take Maia away before joining the man’s side. Both of them suddenly in great concentration instead of killing her… they were actually trying to save her.
“We have to set her bones back,” Mira tells him, grabbing ahold of Hrudra’s head and snapping it back in place. The sound utterly terrifying to me but I ignored the sense of loss and tried to focus on what was in front of us. Though seeing her pale body, growing colder and wounds appearing randomly over her body horrified me.
But I couldn’t will myself to do anything other than watch this terror happen before me.
“I’ll keep her soul out of hell if it shows.” He told her, holding Hrudra’s wrist in his hand and watching the sky above him.
“They won’t send her to hell. They’ll send her to Folkvanger.” Mira shook her head, taking a deep breath as the skies brewed with new thunder clouds and lightning flashing across the sky.
“Who are y-”
“My dear!” A familiar voice called out, revealing the man from the casino, Claus.
“Why the hell are you here?” Valrun snarls when Rogan held her back.
“I told him that his lovely friend was going to die.” Fiero appears out of the blue with a friendly smile and noticed my expression. “I meant for you to die.” He admits to me, my memory throwing me back to when we first met and how he was waiting for me to die.
“You knew and didn’t fucking tell me?!” I roar, pissed that he’s known what would have happened for weeks and didn’t bother to say anything to us. He let me think that I wouldn’t have died…
I got up, heading straight for the bastard before I heard Hrudra scream in agony causing me to spin around and get down to her level again.
I’ll fuck him up later…
“Hrudra? Hrudra answer me. Please, mate.” I plead, roaming my hands over her face when she coughed harshly. Blood pooled around her lips when Claus skid on the ground beside me and pulled out a syringe. Her body started to shake, her uncontrollable body movements making me hold her down which made Mira slap my hands away.
“She’s having a seizure. You can’t touch her or else it’ll get worse.” Mira warned as I watched my mate struggle for her life in misery. It took a few minutes for the attack to stop threatening her body, leaving her unnaturally still now.

It didn’t take Claus another second before he quickly plunged the syringe in her arm and was fast to inject her with a clear substance. Mira and the man were up off the ground in a flash with Hrudra cradled against his chest. I was quick to get off the ground despite the weakness I felt within me. It was as if I had no purpose without her here with me-
No.
I had no purpose without her.
“That serum will force her body into an unconscious stasis. If we don’t get her back quick enough, she will die for good. Or possibly have another seizure.” Claus told Mira and the man when they nodded in understanding, it was as if I wasn’t even here.
“Alright. I will teleport us to the pack hospital. There will be people there that know Hrudra and will tend to her. But even if we end up saving her, her soul may be lost.” He told them before disappearing with Hrudra in his arms.
I paced in the waiting room, awaiting news about Hrudra. Ever since earlier, I’d been barely in control and had attacked everyone who has come into the waiting room. I couldn’t help myself, I needed to vent the anger and pain of losing my mate and waiting for any sort of news from the doctors.
Rogan, the man who helped Hrudra, Claus, and the other Valkyries were in the waiting room despite my need to slaughter everyone around me. But thankfully Rogan and Valrun assured me that they were not here to harm but rather to give me support.
I was thankful, believe me.
But I’d be more thankful if they weren’t around me or let me fight them with all my sorrow and fury. That vampire who killed her was down in the basement just waiting for me to come, the Alpha tried to stop me from harming him. Wanting answers from the man, but she stood no chance against me whether she was an alpha or not.
Good thing Valrun and Sevetha explained this to them.
I even heard Mira and her mate wishing to visit this man, only when he visited hell of course. He was mine here and now.
The Valkyries around seemed lost and hopeless, each of them unsure with what has happened but Mira has told us that if her soul was anywhere. It was with Odin and Freya in Folkvanger.
For some reason, that made sense despite Hrudra and Mira’s previous hatred for one another.
“P-Proximo…?” I turned quickly, seeing Maia standing in the doorway with destroyed chairs and tables nearby her. Her red eyes looking distressed with cuts and bandages all over her small frail body.
I softened a bit at the sight at the girl, knowing that Hrudra traded her life for the girl to survive. Some of the wounds on Maia were previously on Hrudra, so I suspect that Hrudra traded her wounds for Maia’s wounds.
Which has killed Hrudra in the process.
“Maia-” I cleared my throat, not wanting them to see me crack at the sight of the young girl. “I-”
She ran over to me, not letting me say another word when I knelt down quickly and collected her against me. Her loud sobs breaking my already torn up heart as I rubbed her back softly, not wanting to hurt her bruises.
“I’m-m sorry… I-I didn’t-t mean t-to hurt-t Hrudra.” She cried, holding onto me tightly and shaking in my grasp.
“You didn’t hurt her, Monster. She’ll be okay. She protected you so there’s nothing to be sad about.” I assure her with a calming voice that seemed to relax the small girl’s sobs. A small movement above me caught my eye as I noticed Mira coming over to me with a gentle smile that told me she was having a hard time.
From what I know about Mira. Mira was transformed into a Valkyrie but Hrudra and their relationship from the star was good. However, after Mira met her mate, she found out that Hrudra had placed a curse on her mate and thus their relationship became toxic for both of them.
Mira had pleaded to know how to break the curse, but Hrudra never told how to break it and will never. Hrudra told me what her mate has done and why she’s locked him away in hell. Not that I don’t blame her, but I can see that the man has changed and wishes for a normal life with his mate.
Although, since Hrudra never helped Mira or her mate, they’ve been at each other’s throats for over a millennium.
I also know that Maia is her child…
“Go with your mother, Maia,” I whisper, pulling her away and wiping her tears. She nodded meekly, looking over her shoulder at Mira and reaching up to her wanting to get picked up.
Mira was quick to collected Maia off the ground and quickly disappear back into the other area of the hospital. I knew Mira wanted Maia in constant bed care with the bruises and injuries that transferred to Maia from Hrudra.
I heard someone clear their throat behind me before I slowly stood up from the ground and saw the rest of us stand up. Turning around, the doctor stared at each of us with a thin-lipped frown that caused my stomach to twist in misery.
I could feel her faint pulse through the mate bound. But something… something didn’t feel right.
And by the look on the doctor’s face caused me to lose all control.
