PRESIDENT QIN'S LITTLE WIFE IS THE STRONGEST - Chapter 114
114 Complicated Feelings
Tong Yang felt like cold water had been doused on her from head to toe as she heard Rong Yue’s words.
She was not worthy? Although she felt her head quiver with some unknown feeling of fear creeping in, she still didn’t relent. “Not worthy? To talk to you?” She asked with a sneer as she stood up. However, her body was not as impressive as that of Rong Yue. She was also shorter making her pale in comparison. Yet, Tong Yang was determined to drag her down today.
“I know you. And I know that your mother can barely think on her own and you have no father. With that type of background, you really have the guts to tell e that I’m not worthy huh?” at this point, she had no interest in pretending to be a good person and immediately revealed all of her thoughts in the open.
The faces of everyone in the classroom immediately changed and even Sun Li felt like things had gone really bad. She knew that Rong Yue wasn’t from a family in the society but she had never imagined that it would be that bad, her eyes immediately swelled in tears at the grievance that her friend would have had to bear with all these years.
Before Rong Yue could reply, she had already rushed to defend her, “even if she has only her mother, she’s clearly not brainless, after all, she raised such a good daughter. As for you, even with both parents and all that benefits that you were born into, you are dumb and your behaviour stinks.”
She took a pause to catch her breath and then continued. “Two of your parents cannot compare to the one that Rong Yue that has. So yes, Tong Yang, you are not worthy!”
With how she had put her words, even Rong Yue was surprised at her eloquence while a lot of the other students were impressed and also agreed with her. It was impossible that Rong Yue’s mother wouldn’t be able to think. With such astonishing grades and excellent character, it was easy to see that she had taken care of this only child.
Tong Yang was embarrassed but she had no way of refuting what Sun Li had just said.
Seeing that she had been scolded till she was speechless, she put on a pitiful expression and tried to gain sympathy from the people around but everyone looked away from her unwilling to associate with someone that was like that.
…..
Even though there it was not possible that everyone there was on the high moral ground, no one was willing to support her at this time and look like the bad person also.
With no one to support her, Tong Yang hissed and left the class unwilling to be embarrassed further.
Most of the classmates wanted to talk to Rong Yue but there weren’t sure what to say.
Thankfully, teacher Lu came in at that time and called the both of them along.
“The teachers are very proud of you, at least, everyone feels like we can raise our head against the municipal high school, even though it’s private, they have been getting more applications in the last year,” teacher Lu told them as they walked to the staff office.
Wu Hao accompanied him while Rong Yue just nodded her head.
When they got to the office, everyone including the principal were already waiting and they smiled as they saw the both of them.
Although Wu Hao was two ranking higher than Rong Yue, it didn’t change how the teachers reacted and they praised both of them equally.
“Ahem,” the principal coughed lightly, grabbing the attention of everyone.
“The reason why I called the both of you is because with your ranking, you have exceeded our expectations and moved into the next level,” he started and the air in the room became more serious. Other than Wu Hao and Rong Yue, all the teachers had solemn expectations like they were about to face a great challenge.
“It would have been fine if you didn’t get it, but now that you have gotten it, although we don’t expect you to go beyond here, we think it’s important that you both get good enough rankings so that you can have some second tier universities interested in you.” The principal added and then signaled to his secretary.
She smiled at the two of them before walking towards them, “this time, only the top five gets to the international level, but for the both of you, if you can rank in the top twenty, the opportunities is still going to be substantial,” she said with a smile while Wu Hao and Rong Yue could only nod.
“The school is thinking of getting you both a tutor from province B so that it can boost your ranking, as their fees are exhorbitant, we can’t go beyond that,” the secretary said, her face a mix between reluctance and hope.
Even though a tutor from province B wasn’t the same as a tutor from Beijing, it was the next province after the capital province and would be enough to make their results do a lot better than before.
Rong Yue smiled and then glanced at Wu Hao. Even though this wasn’t something she cared about before, now that teachers had shown so much care, she had to also show some sincerity.
“It’s okay, although we only ranked like this in this one, it was deliberate and the both of us had planned to only go all out in the final selection rank, although a tutor from province B is good, they can’t take us beyond the next rank which is not our aim,” Rong Yue said slowly.
From her first words, the teachers were already surprised. But for someone like teacher Lu that knew how she had finished earlier and even knew that the gap between her and Wu Hao was usually not small before, it was easier for him to believe.
For the others, they were a little skeptical.
Was it really that easy?
“It might sound hard to believe but that was what Rong Yue told me to do, even though the questions were relatively easy for me, I only used about half of my study power, also, we already have a tutor helping us out,” he added on second thought.
It would be easier to believe if he told them they had some tutor that was helping out. It was easy to see that Wu Hao might not be as intelligent when it came to studies or other matters like Rong Yue, but he was quite good at reading and handling people.
Upon hearing that there was some tutor, the teachers became calmer and decided to believe them.
“If you both say so, then we can only wish you the best,” the principal said as he looked at them with complicated feelings.
“Thank you,” the both of them muttered at the same time, after all, this was quite thoughtful of the entire administration.
“Even if you both have a tutor, we have complied this list of questions from the past year and solutions, you can look through them slowly anytime you are bored to revise and refresh your mind,” teacher Lu said and like that, every teacher passed two copies of some notebook to them.
Rong Yue and Wu Hao collected it gratefully and waited some while to chat with them.
Eventually, the teachers sent them off so they could use their time for other things.
“The teachers really went out of their way for this,” Wu Hao said as he looked through the questions for some subjects.
“Hmmm, they all want the best for us,” Rong Yue said casually but anyone that was familiar with her would know that this was a favour that was already noted down by her.
“By the way, don’t you think that there’s something Sun Li can do? She talked to me about how bored she was earlier today before you came,” Wu Hao told her as they neared the classroom.
“I already talked to her, I have intentions of growing the e-sports in the country, since she likes it, it won’t be a problem for her to join the team, but unlike the rest of us, she’s a little bit less responsible, I’m giving her some time to grow while I also build the team,” Rong Yue told him.
Wu Hao looked at the girl that had just casually talked about something that so many companies were trying to do like it was child’s play, yet, he couldn’t help but believe her.
He also knew that Sun Li was a little too rash now and it would be better to give her some responsibility after a while.
“Also, I’m scared that I would tie her down, after all, she once lived without ambitions, that’s why I have left her to keep exploring so that we can all know what her limits her,” for someone like Rong Yue, she took life a little more seriously, after all, she once wasted her own first chance.
She didn’t want to influence Sun Li too much and steer her away from the path she was meant to follow.
For someone like Wu Hao, she knew his family had later caused some troubles from him in the past life and was more inclined to help.
But she didn’t know how Sun Li’s life had gone!
Was she creating a better life for her or was she steering her away from what she was meant from? The uncertainty was what made her slow and unwilling to dive in and help.
