Primordial Dimensions - Chapter 408
Conquering the shelter on the mountain took much longer than expected and everyone was tired after having slaughtered more than 100,000 opponents.
Most of the dead had been the reinforcement, but in the end, everything had worked out for Shane, who had received the 7th notification of having conquered a shelter.
During the last few hours, Shane hadn’t been able to take a proper look at the lesser forest spirit that had demanded to absorb more mana.
Because of that, he couldn’t help but be astonished when he noticed that the former fist-sized egg had now enlarged to the size of a small child’s head!
This was all due to the large amount of mana it had absorbed, and only now did Shane realize just how much mana the forest spirit could absorb.
It was massive and much more than he would normally use to fight against others.
Fortunately, the active mana absorption rate of his forest spirit was not that high, and only around what the Hidden Paradise could absorb of the natural mana the radiant mountain ring dimension was generating.
As such, the stored amount of mana would only decrease if Shane were to use the Hidden Paradise.
This was great information, even more so because he had only three shelters left to conquer.
Those shelters could barely be considered strong enough to survive a beast tide with three Overlords which was solely owing to their advantageous environment and long-range weapons.
Because Shane had sent out his scouts to find the most suitable shelters to conquer with his unique tactic, it had taken them several weeks to even find a remotely suitable shelter in all four directions.
In the end, the next three shelters were located extremely far apart, but that was not bothersome for Shane. He had already calculated everything well in advance to destroy the weakest shelters that met his requirements while belonging to the Miac alliance, or one of the races that had attacked the human race!
This tactic included multiple Space doors Shane had purchased from his own finances in order to finish his mission neatly.
Even if he had only two days left as per his mission’s countdown, the Space doors would allow him to finish them thanks to the scouts that were already standing in the correct position, waiting for Shane to arrive.
The entire conquest, including depriving the shelter of everything valuable was over in a matter of eight hours.
After that, most of his Conquerors were already tired, but Shane instructed them to enter his soul bound world and rest for half an hour because the next shelter conquest would start soon.
Leaving the shelter on the mountain, Shane returned to the scout he had left earlier.
“You can leave once I leave through the Space door. Stay alert so that nobody sees and kills you, and report to Talia once you return!”
With that being said, Shane barely waited for the scout to nod his head before he entered the other space door that stood right next to the one he had emerged from earlier.
**
Two days passed silently, and it was only then that Shane and the Conquerors had finished their 10th conquest of a high-level defensive shelter.
Everyone was utterly exhausted, but Shane could only smile.
There were still more than 10 days on his mission left, but he had just received the notification that he had completed it successfully!
[Mission [Conqueror] Conquer or destroy a total of 10 Shelters within the Basic Primordial Dimensions has been accomplished successfully! Remaining time [10D:14H:50M:03S]! Reward: Access to purchase [Mana purification technique(100%)]]
The mission to receive permission to purchase the perfect mana purification manual had been solved, just like that!
He couldn’t really believe it and only by looking at the notification did he realize that his hard work had paid off.
In the end, the combined efforts of the Conquerors with their high mana purity and combat prowess, his high funds that mostly originated from the profits the Astral Artisans had earned, and the Hidden Paradise that allowed him to manifest portals leading to his soul bound world, had made everything possible.
Because of that, Shane could only smile brightly, thinking that he did have too many advantages that others couldn’t utilize.
However, this was only the case because others didn’t even try to make use of certain opportunities, or that they were too weak to accomplish them.
Shane had worked hard in order to accomplish everything he had received until now, and there may be a few unfair advantages he had since the beginning, but that was something fate had given him.
Despite the fact that everything had worked out with his last [Mythic] mission, there were certain things that caused him to feel demotivated.
Initially, he had hoped that not many Conquerors would die because he thought that their high combat prowess, mana purity, and surprise attack on a total of 10 shelters was enough to overcome everything.
Unfortunately, there were several unexpected situations where strong mercenary groups had been found lurking inside certain shelters that had attacked the Conquerors when they had expected it the least.
Owing to that, a total of 30 Conquerors had died, and more than 50 were seriously injured.
Nobody should have been able to figure out their identity, let alone many hints to figure out their identity, but that was not as important as the death of his comrades.
At least, not in Shane’s opinion.
He was sad about the deaths, but he couldn’t halt the shelter conquest in order to give them their final place of rest.
Had he failed the [Mythic] mission, Shane would have been too ashamed to look anyone in the eye ever because the sacrifice of his comrades would have been in vain.
They had given their lives for him to accomplish the impossible and the only way to make them rest in peace would be seeing the mission through, which he thankfully did.
Utilizing the system that was slowly starting to change its interface and other aspects, Shane purchased the [Mythic-(Perfect)] Mana purification manual for a total of 1 million gold coins.
Under normal circumstances, one would frown on seeing such a high price, but Shane didn’t even hesitate for a single moment as he quickly bought it.
The name was different than Shane assumed it to be, as the prefix [Tier-2 (Mythic)] had been switched to [Mythic- (Perfect)] but that was nothing he was worried about.
In the end, the system was already showing signs of breakdown as it was slowly glitching certain descriptions, notifications, and other things that had been standardized before.
There were certain things he was more worried about than the system changing certain characteristics, which was mostly that it would become impossible for him to select his occupation after he had constructed his perfect foundation!
This was one of the two most important steps he was currently missing out on, other than increasing his fortune to purchase the mana heart awakening for the Hidden Paradise.
In the end, the Hidden Paradise should awaken its mana heart as soon as possible because this would mean that the surrounding mana would no longer be required granting Shane freedom of movement.
‘I hope it won’t take too long to purify the last 3% for a perfect mana purification!’ Shane thought with a small smile after he had returned to Igra where he wanted to establish his perfect foundation!
