Princess Lyn: Fleeting Dreams - Chapter 550
“S-uoh? Uh, why are you-” Lyn felt very puzzled. Why is this man here with a different appearance and different name? Moreover, it looks like he is somebody important here. It contradicts what he told her when they made the contract.
“Katagiri Ryuuko.”
“Oh.”
“Did you forget about me?” Rhys brushed his lips against her ear.
“N–no but-” How could she forget when he was still holding onto her?
She watched as he looked at the man with a questioning gaze. “One of the judges.” She explained vaguely. Lyn wanted to explain properly, but the aura around Rhys was no joke.
It was clear to her that he was not very happy about this situation.
“So this is the one you mentioned, Lyn?”
Lyn nodded. “Ah-huh, did you not suggest to me to get a contract?”
“I did, but did you have to choose one of the judges?”
Ryuuko quickly interjected. “It benefits the Princess more to work with me than Kujou, who is trying to suck up to the Snow Kingdom princess.”
“The Snow Kingdom Princess?” Lyn repeated.
“She will also be attending here.”
Is this what the young King meant in his last letter? Since her visit to the Kingdom, she maintained correspondence with the King. She struck a deal with him since it felt like he deliberately tried to extend her stay. She understood the reason why he wanted her around. Unlike his subordinates, she is the only one who would treat him as normal. Due to her upbringing, she did not discriminate or cared too much for status.
But Lyn knew she could no longer remain in that ice-cold palace for any longer. It felt like she was gradually going crazy there. His last letter mentioned preparing a wonderful surprise for her. He even called it a miracle encounter. So he must have meant this.
The Snow Kingdom Princess would be the current King’s older sister, right? Lyn recalled asking why he had to take the throne at a young age when he has an elder sibling. The young King, who normally looked so confused look distressed for the very first time. He mumbled words like naive, too kind, bold, and yet prideful.
It felt like a hidden story, but she did not want to pry even more than she already was.
Ryuuko quickly turned around. “Well, I don’t think I need to guide you if Sir Rhys is here. I shall meet up with you another time.” With those words said, the man quickly left.
The moment Ryuuko was no longer in sight, Rhys pushed her against the wall and leaned forward. “Damn, I feel annoyed.”
Lyn laughed. “Uh, he didn’t mean anything by it.”
“Laughing like that cause of another man. It seems I have not taught you enough.”
Her gaze dimmed when she heard his possessive-like words. What gives him the right to treat her like his possession? She was about to scold him, but he suddenly sumped his head in her chest.
“I am terrified of losing you. Did you know that?”
Her eyes widened when she heard his words. The pain and sorrow behind each word was something she could not miss. Moreover, he was trembling. Lyn bit her lip. Whenever he got like this, she could never get mad at him, and she is so weak whenever it concerns Rhys. Even though he does despicable things, she ends up forgiving him.
But there was something different this time around. He seemed almost desperate.
“I-I won’t go anywhere.” Where could she go? Why would she even think of going anywhere and leaving him behind?
Rhys lifted his face and then cupped her cheeks. “Prove it to me.”
At that comment, heat crept onto her cheeks again. “Prove, you say, and this is a waiting room.”
Rhys traced the ribbon of her dress. “You even dressed up to come here.”
“If you do anything uncalled for, I will-”
He gently kissed her lips. “Will you hate me at last, Princess?”
He makes it so hard for her to refuse or, as he says, dislikes him. Rhys must understand it too. No matter what he does, she cannot dislike him. Lyn wrapped her arms around his neck and mumbled. “I hate it when you ask me those questions.”
Rhys laughed. “I shouldn’t do anything you hate.”
Even though they both know he does plenty of those things. Lyn felt Rhys lift her up and did not question him as they exited the room.
The academy that looked overwhelming from the entrance went by to her in a blur due to Rhys speed. Kazuya told her before that it was normal for people of the Sound Kingdom to move unusually fast. But Rhys is a member of the Rain Kingdom..but since he lived in the Sound Kingdom for long, he must have inherited those traits. Is it something people can learn?
If so, she would like to. It would help her escape from troublesome situations. She pondered on this until Rhys kicked a door open. Lyn did not get a chance to look around when she felt his hands tug on her dress.
What a needy and lonely person. She ran her hands through his hair and muttered softly. “Rhys.”
“I love you, Lyn; please don’t go anywhere.”
Where does this man think she can go? Why does he seem so certain that she will go somewhere? Something is wrong here. “Wait, Rhys, what is wrong with you?”
Is it because they have not spent much time together lately? But since when could Rhys make this type of expression?
“Nothing. Lyn, just don’t go anywhere.”
“Alright.” She traced his lips. “Can I kiss you?”
“You want to lead?”
She does because she wants to understand his current state better. Rhys must have understood since he sighed. “Sorry, am I worrying you?”
“A little, we haven’t met in a while, so I was thinking, is that why?”
“That isn’t your fault but mine.” Rhys nibbled on her lips. “Do you still want to do this?”
“I do.”
“You’re driving me crazy Lyn.”
