Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 12
“Your death will never be peaceful,” Hubert spat out, shrivelling up with the passage of every second. He was unable to activate any of his Skills as they were all devoured by his Bone Devour.
“I don’t plan on dying,” Jyovic Bone patted Hubert’s cheek, motioning for Havita to stop siphoning energy from him. Gazing at Hubert’s anger-filled face, he consoled, “Don’t look at me like that. Only my children are my tonic. I’ve never hurt anyone else from our Bone Family nor do I ever plan to do so.”
“What did you do to Henrietta and Jyunta?” Hubert gasped for air, noticing his muscles turning weak as time passed. As his spine was getting devoured, his cells were exhibiting a phenomenon of rejection. If the status quo remains unchanged, his death was certain.
“Well, let’s head inside first.” Jyovic Bone said, tapping the ground with his heel once, causing a panel to open up, swallowing them whole. Havita carried Hubert, ensuring he wasn’t hurt during the descent.
The moment they landed, Jyovic Bone exerted his influence, closing up the more than 30 metres of the tunnel towards the surface. It was fully made from the bones of Tier 5 Frenzy Beasts, tremendously tough. Moreover, it also seemed to be layered with the Relics taken from Espers, shielding the interior with psychic energy.
It was a cold, desolate room. There existed a glass cylinder on one end, housing a humanoid figure. The figure within was barely skin and bones, living on life support. The moment Jyovic Bone arrived, the humanoid figure woke up, glaring at Jyovic Bone with a bloodthirsty gaze.
In response to it, Jyovic Bone smiled, motioning for Hubert to look at the humanoid figure, “You’ve last seen him when you were six years old, Hubert. Meet your older brother, Jyunta Bone.”
“He’s…alive?” Hubert was shocked, but just when he assumed of a hopeful situation, trying to understand that he was only being used to help his older brother, Hubert gazed at a stand nearby, noticing a grey sphere placed atop it. And, emanating from it was a very familiar presence, one that of his sister.
“Bastard! How could you do this? She’s your daughter!” Hubert teared up, for the grey sphere was Henrietta, at least, what had once been her.
“The Trait of Wonder, the perfect ability to condense everything into Relics,” Jyovic Bone chuckled, “During the Flying Signature Raid, I snuck into the stomach of a Frenzy Beast and manipulated it into doing my bidding. It was what killed Henrietta. I condensed her Skills, Bone Devour, and presence into this grey sphere, a Relic of her entire being.”
Jyovic Bone then pressed a switch, causing the fluid solution within the glass container to reduce in level a little, allowing Jyunta Bone to speak. But, the latter only continued to glare at Jyovic Bone.
“Don’t assume he’s your older brother, Hubert.” Jyovic Bone pointed at Jyunta Bone, “He’s a Child of Wisdom. Mentally, he was never a human in the first place. The actual Jyunta Bone died when he was eight years old.”
“I’m sure even the most bloodthirsty of demons would look tame before you, bastard Jyovic.” Jyunta Bone opened his mouth, speaking with a raspy tone, “No matter what you do, a second Induction is impossible.”
“A Second Induction?” Hubert was shocked, realisation finally hit him as he glared at Jyovic Bone, “Madman, a Wisdom Parasite’s protection against Rhachis Ancestor Parasite’s influence would be eradicated if you induce a second one into you. Every higher up in our city knows of this. This is just madness.”
“You sure?” Jyovic Bone laughed, “The last time I probed, it seems the Central Command already has the method to achieve this. But, they are only reserving it for Atika Light and Mary Veera. Damned hags, when was I inferior to them?”
Jyovic Bone grumbled, “Their only merit was the fact that they had trained Angrushen Light into an Ancestor.”
Sighing, Jyovic Bone gazed at the floor, turning silent. But, Hubert suddenly felt a chill, like his entire existence was about to be devoured. Even Havita Bone, despite being a Transformer, still shuddered.
“Havita, give it to me now.” Jyovic Bone said in an unusually calm tone.
Nodding in response, Havita Bone resigned herself to her fate, placing her hand before her stomach as the stomach walls parted, revealing a Cleansement Fruit within. She immediately used it, losing all her Skills and the consciousness of her Wisdom Parasite, turning them into a Relic.
“Good,” Jyovic Bone grabbed hold of the Relic, watching her hand tremble while he did so. He took out a tiny piece of bone from his pocket, throwing it towards Havita Bone, “I recorded all the secrets of Bone Devour in it. Give it to Heima Bone when you return to the city. She’ll be the next leader of the Bone Family and would raise it to unsurpassable heights. Until she becomes strong enough, be the temporary head of the Bone Family.”
His voice was then tinged with a hint of warmth, looking at the expression of distraught on Havita Bone’s face, “Why are you worried? You have the Trait of Growth with you. While on your return, hunt the Swarm and recover your Skills. You were close to losing control anyway, so just live freely from now on.”
“Sorry,” Havita muttered while facing Hubert, creating a pair of wings on her back as she flew out of the room, beginning to fly towards Marble City.
“Now, all my bloodline is in my grasp,” Jyovic Bone laughed, gazing at Hubert as he muttered, slowly closing in, “You seem to think that I’m radical, right?”
Seeing Hubert’s reaction, Jyovic Bone laughed, “But, you are completely misunderstood about something. The Life Leech siphons lifeforce, the Steel Porcupine shoots out the blades grown on its back, and the One-Horned Rhino has a vigorous vitality and fleshly power. The three of them form the core of our Unranked Skill. But, what aspect of their traits caused the Unranked Skill to be designated with the name of Bone Devour?”
“None,” Jyovic Bone said, causing Hubert to shudder as he continued, “You see, it was the goal of our Ancestors to achieve this right from the start. To devour our children and use them as a tonic to bolster our growth.. They were the actual radical ones and would have carried mass genocide had Bone Devour been completed during their era.”
