Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 13
“From the moment we reach Tier 3, every day is hell. Either we lose control or resist the mental erosion, turning into monsters worse than Frenzy Beasts. There’s no other choice. Cleansement Fruits are the only mode of escape from this hell. Unfortunately, we would lose a significant sum of our powers as a result.” Jyovic Bone muttered, “That’s where the Trait of Growth comes into play. It’ll allow us to regain our powers eventually.”
“But, thanks to Bone Devour, as long as we have enough Frenzy Beasts to use as energy sources, we’ll be able to recover all our abilities within a couple of days.” Jyovic Bone smiled, “It took me quite the convincing to make that mad woman proceed in this direction of research. And just as I had expected, she was able to achieve something all of us had tried and failed to accomplish.”
“The fact that she had failed her breakthrough to Tier 6 and still managed to survive caused her to see the benefits in the Trait of Growth, using the experience fragments she obtained from the Mental Realm as insight to complete it.” Jyovic Bone laughed, immersed in nostalgia for a moment.
“Just…what are you planning?” Hubert Bone had accepted his fate by this point, no longer able to feel any strength in him. His body had become even weaker than a regular human by this point, beginning to collapse at a couple of places.
“Upon becoming a Transformer, I persisted, dealing with the mental erosion that wished to make me into a monster. I put up with it for as long as I could, finally consuming the Cleansement Fruit one fine day.” Jyovic Bone clenched his hand into a fist, “Even though my active days as a Warrior was finished, I attained mental peace. And, due to the tug of war between me and my Wisdom Parasite over the decades, my mind became immensely firm upon achieving peace.”
“Now, with a second Induction Ceremony, I’ll be able to grow into an Esper’s route too. No matter what the Wisdom Parasite does, I’ll be unaffected. But,” Jyovic Bone shook his head, “That’s not enough. Even if I were to reach the status as a Sky Controller, and breakthrough to Tier 6, I’ll only be a Psychic Ancestor.”
“You…” Hubert Bone sighed, “So, becoming an Ancestor as a Child of Wisdom is your goal.”
“Yes,” Jyovic Bone nodded, “Somehow, the Colossal Bawling Sheep has been able to attain it. I’m sure I’ll be able to do it too. This has been the Bone Family’s true goal, one that we have strived towards for more than a century.”
Jyovic Bone’s stomach suddenly caved open, revealing a massive jaw that crunched upon Hubert Bone, devouring him within a couple of seconds. He then looked at the Relic in his hands, “Actually, the other three are enough. Havita’s Relic is just a safety net in case it proves insufficient. Well, whatever. I already have it in my hand.”
He then simply dumped it into the mouth in his stomach, shuddering as his Unranked Skill began to act up, creating numerous mouths and tendrils all over his body. Bone spikes exited it, unable to be controlled as they crashed into the ground, scraping it as Jyovic Bone barely reined himself.
“Dammit, just two Relics, and I am already close to losing control.” Jyovic Bone sat and meditated for a moment, barely controlling the bone spikes from exiting anymore, pausing their actions. He was in such a state because the Relics were composed of the Wisdom Parasites that had been refined into such a form.
Even though they were physically dead, their Will was still inside, present at enough amounts to affect Jyovic Bone the moment he devoured them. After all, he absorbed them in their entirety into his body.
His body was beginning to destabilise, unable to endure the bodies of different Wisdom Parasites trying to wrestle control in him.
Ensuring that the Wisdom Parasites were still alive while in the Relic form was one of the modifications he had done to the Bone Devour of Hubert, Henrietta, and Havita Bone.
So, without wasting time, Jyovic Bone immediately devoured Henrietta’s Relic too, grunting in pain as his eyes glazed over, his face melted while his presence rapidly plummeted. Jyovic Bone, as an individual was getting shredded apart alarmingly quick.
His humanoid form collapsed as Jyovic Bone turned into a sludge from which tendrils shot out everywhere, unleashing bone spikes that began to destroy the room. One of them pierced through the glass cylinder, penetrating Jyunta Bone, causing the other party to throw up some blood in response. Lured by the blood, the blob of flesh condensed a massive mouth of flesh that flashed towards him, clamping on him.
The bone spikes in its body acted as teeth, piercing through Jyunta Bone’s body one after another, riddling him with holes as he was shredded apart. As he was the Wisdom Parasite itself, one that had turned into a Frenzy Parasite as Jyunta Bone grew older while the human self died, he was alive.
Or rather, while his body was getting shredded, his Central Nervous System escaped his body, using Bone Devour to morph itself into a serpent as it headed towards the centre of the pile of flesh, intending to take charge of everything.
To ensure the experiment would succeed, Jyovic Bone had given the modified Bone Devour to Jyunta Bone too. After all, everything depended on Bone Devour to succeed. So, they must all have it—the modified ones that he was able to control.
“Hahaha, I’ll be the one to succeed in the end.” Jyunta Bone’s voice resounded as his serpentine form began to devour the serpents belonging to his siblings that had now hatched within Jyovic Bone’s body.
They tussled, bit, snapped, and devoured each other. Unlike the others, Jyunta Bone had a greater advantage, so soon after, he reined at the top, having devoured all the Wisdom Parasites when a green light radiated throughout the mass of flesh.
Trait of Wonder!
It was the Trait Jyovic Bone had created, used to condense the fused organ of a human or Frenzy Beast into a Relic upon death. And now, this light was emitted throughout the fleshly mass as Jyunta Bone screamed, watching his Will getting shredded apart while his serpentine form destabilised.
To his shock, it began to revert into the original Central Nervous System, forming the core of the fleshly mass as everything began to converge over it.
‘So, that’s what you had planned. Impressive, haha!’ Jyunta Bone’s consciousness thought moments before it was completely eradicated.
No sooner was it done when the green radiance began to condense the flesh as Bone Devour was activated, condensing the fleshly mass into a humanoid form. Within a couple of seconds, a humanoid figure had formed, of one in his youth, looking like the healthier version of Jyunta Bone.
A second later, his eyes shot open while his lips curled up into a smile, “I’ve attained it. Now, I’m a…”
“Child of Frenzy!”
