Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 19
“How much do you know about the Mind Path?” Jyorta asked her, causing her to look at him in shock.
“How do you even know about it? Did they start teaching about it in the military academy now?” Hruna Bone was confused, unable to understand just how Jyorta was able to obtain information related to it.
But, even if he had been informed about it by Jyovic Bone in secret, it still didn’t make sense. After all, based on what she could sense, Jyorta seemed like he had a solid idea about the Mind Path. It shouldn’t have been possible if he just learned about it.
“My master taught me a bit about it,” Jyorta said, recalling his experience in the Crimson Desert where he had become an entirely different person. Such a level of control and manipulation was only possible with a deeper comprehension of the Mind Path.
After all, it was to the extent Jyorta had forgotten entirely about himself, even though he was a Psychic Parasite and was capable of manipulating all his memories, emotions, mental states as and when necessary. It was not to mention him possessing three False Personas to use in various situations.
But even then, he had fallen into his role, only knowing the backstory of his character as his memories. So, it was a terrifying notion. When Jyorta had thought about it, he understood that was a deeper play on the minds of the affected parties.
But as to how he had to go about attaining that level, Jyorta wasn’t yet sure. But, the way he controlled the River Whales so seamlessly was different. After all, he was privy to a certain extent of their memories and understood their habits to a surface level.
Beyond that, he simply followed their command structure, causing a stronger River Whale to appear in their hallucination and command them. That was all. And through it, he relayed them all the commands that he wished for them to execute.
To manipulate someone, there were countless methods. And, Jyorta used whatever he felt would get the job done. Moreover, he had designed a tattoo accordingly for each. And, this tattoo was created to suit them the best, making it easy for him to manipulate them.
That’s why all Jyorta needed to do was command them through the aura. And in response, the River Whales would hallucinate on their own, the best hallucination in relation to the command, and do the job themselves.
Based on the insight he obtained by manipulating the Tier 3 Lava Turtle during the Graduation Ceremony, Jyorta understood that hallucinations were the most effective when it was coughed up by the target itself.
This way, just to protect their bias or assumptions, they would think up many scenarios, most of which were false. And in this manner, they would fall deeper into the hallucination, a hole they had dug themselves.
So, the tattoos he created recently were all made using this trait. Thanks to that, his control over the River Whales was seamless.
“Master?” Hruna Bone’s eyes lit up, asking in surprise, “You mean to say you obtained an inheritance from one of the staff there?”
“Yeah,” Jyorta nodded, “Three of us in my Batch had obtained an inheritance.”
“Three?” Hruna Bone was shocked, muttering in defeat, “Only two managed to obtain an inheritance in my Batch. By the looks of it, your Batch seems to be stronger than mine overall.”
“Well, we can’t say it just based on this criterion.” Jyorta laughed, then pointing at the River Whales as he made them fight each other, improving his ability to multitask, preparing himself to lead a crowd of Frenzy Beasts into battle in the future.
…
“Jyovic Bone and Hubert Bone are dead.” Havita Bone looked at all the higher-ups of the Bone Family, dropping the bomb.
Everyone was startled at the information, unable to believe it.
One of them, an old man in his seventies, having retired as a Shifter shouted, “Impossible! Their strength guarantees that they can survive in any situation. With Bone Devour, the number of enemies they face won’t ever be a problem. At least, they should have been able to last long enough until reinforcements from Marble City arrived. And, if they had been in danger, how were we not alerted? With our Family’s aura impulse method, a message is guaranteed to reach us.”
“Father had obtained some information relating to the Floating Spiders. It seemed they had been preparing to do something that would endanger our Family’s development.” Havita Bone began to speak of the lie that she had thought up, continuing from where Jyovic Bone’s lie ended, “We all know that Bone Devour can counter Web World of the Floating Spiders.”
“And, in the past couple of years, too many Floating Spiders lost their lives under our hands.” Havita Bone sighed, “And they have judged that we are their most threatening enemy. There is also the fact that father was the one to kill the fourth Ancestor of the Floating Spiders. So, they possess tremendous hatred towards us and had been planning something all along.”
“That’s why, the moment he became privy to the information, father asked me and Hubert to accompany him on a stealth mission.” Havita Bone sighed, “But, we were ambushed in the end. The two of them covered for me, allowing me to escape. As for whether they are actually alive or not, I am unsure. But, the chances are slim as they charged deeper into the Floating Spider territory.”
Havita Bone then said solemnly, “As to what I have witnessed there, I cannot say them to you since I have been prohibited from disclosing the details to others. Ancestor Marble said he will think up a solution and inform us of it later.”
Havita Bone shuddered, thinking of the scene from when she visited Central Command to inform Psychic Ancestor Marble of everything that had actually happened. It was the first time she had seen the ever-placid Ancestor Marble express his killing intent.
Just the mere thought caused her to shudder in fear, recalling the command she had received from Ancestor Marble, causing her to reel from confusion, failing to understand just what was happening anymore.
“Do nothing.. Continue to lead the Bone Family until Heima Bone reaches Tier 5.”
