Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 23
Aura Induction—Tattoo!
The moment Henrik brought him atop an Armadillo, Jyorta extended his psychic arm, touching the Armadillo’s body as he sent in his tattoo through it, immediately causing a change in the Armadillo’s behaviour.
It stopped shooting spikes at the city walls and turned silent. As Henrik shielded them using his psychic arms, none of the Swarm monsters were able to sense them. As a Ground Controller, shielding himself from the detection methods of the Swarm was child’s play.
Only the Skeps with their myriad methods were troublesome.
As Jyorta asked, Henrik moved him from the top of one Armadillo to the next in sequence. Soon, Jyorta finished imbuing the tattoo on the thirtieth Armadillo, giving them a command as he said to Henrik, “Let’s return to the city walls.”
“Sure,” Henrik didn’t question him, bringing Jyorta to their prior position above the city walls.
Closing his eyes, Jyorta sensed the aura fluctuations he had felt before, nodding, ‘The tattoos would last for six hours. That’s amazing.’
He then opened his eyes, watching the thirty Armadillos slowly march towards the city walls. And, just as the Bone Family members planned to attack the troublesome opponents, Henrik transmitted them a message, preventing them from attacking the Armadillos.
“So, that’s Jyorta Bone.” A Shifter looked at the thirty Armadillos approaching the city walls with a subservient posture, gazing at the figure of Jyorta Bone that had been the cause, smirking, “To think it has only been a year since his Induction Ceremony, interesting.”
All the Armadillos lined themselves before the city walls, facing the Swarm as their upper bellies bulged before shrinking abruptly. Opening their mouths, the Armadillos shot thirty spikes towards the swarm, hitting many, injuring them to a significant extent.
Without any breaks, the thirty Armadillos expanded their upper bellies once again, contracting them instantly to shoot forth another volley of thirty spikes.
The Bone Family members fighting on the battlefield slowed down their attacks as they watched the scene taking place, smacked amazed as they muttered, “He’s controlling thirty Armadillos? Isn’t he just an Area Controller?”
As all the Armadillos had to do was shoot blindly at the Swarm, all Jyorta did was give them the necessary commands. He didn’t control them after that, so he was free to make more preparations, beginning to condense more tattoos for his use.
He multitasked, finally gazing at the Tier 4 Relic.
It was only thirty centimetres in length, shaped like a spearhead, magenta in colour. It was apparent that due to the significance of its value, Psychic Ancestor Marble had personally condensed the Artifact to hold the Tier 4 Relic.
With Tier 6 toughness, it wouldn’t be damaged by any attacks below the level of Tier 6. This way, the Tier 4 Relic wouldn’t ever be damaged. After all, the Relics were fragile and could be destroyed easily. Even a Tier 6 Relic could be destroyed by an Amplifier.
So, to protect the sole Relic with Bone Devour, Psychic Ancestor Marble had taken action, condensing the toughest Artifact to house it.
Jyorta grabbed hold of it, feeling its ridiculous toughness as he seeped his psychic arm into it, realising that he was instantly able to make it his Refined Object.
“When you are returning it, you’ll have to destroy your psychic energy imprint on it. That’s the rule.” Henrik said.
“Of course, that makes sense.” Jyorta nodded, then pointed at a Frog that had died under the volley of the Armadillo spikes, “Can you bring me before it?”
“Sure,” Henrik said, bringing Jyorta to the mentioned spot within a second. Thanks to his psychic energy shielding him from all the inertia due to the abrupt movement, Jyorta didn’t feel any damage. This was the advantage of psychic energy, the reason Espers were capable of moving at tremendous speeds without taking any damage from the inertial forces.
Upon his thought, the magenta spike—containing the Tier 4 Relic of Bone Devour—began to spin as his psychic arm extended in length, causing it to bore into the Frog’s body a bit. He had chosen a spot that had already been impaled by the spike, so it was easy to insert the magenta spike through the wound.
‘Here goes nothing.’ Taking in a deep breath, Jyorta activated the Tier 4 Relic, grunting in pain for a moment when an insane amount of energy gushed into his brain through his psychic arm, overwhelming him.
He deactivated it immediately, panting as blood dripped out of his nose.
Upon seeing the scene, Henrik said, “The energy influx cannot be controlled since this is a Relic. So, you’ll be taking damage constantly. But, you have Regen with you, right? Use it and hold on.”
“Yes,” Jyorta nodded, seeping his second psychic arm through his body, turning it pale blue as he activated Regen. It began to consume his psychic energy to heal his body while Jyorta activated a Trait to absorb the remainder of the energy.
Trait of Severability!
The psychic energy in his body gushed into the Trait as his Sync Rate began to grudgingly increase little by little. Now that he was expending enough psychic energy, Jyorta activated the Tier 4 Relic once again, barely able to bear with the energy influx as he began to bleed from his orifices.
Twenty seconds later, the gigantic flesh monster of a Frog that spanned 30 metres in size had shrivelled up into a husk of its former self.
Even though he was dripping enough blood to dye his body red, Jyorta was amazed as he muttered, “Just this one Frog increased my Sync Rate by 0.05 percent?”
“Of course,” Henrik pointed at their humongous sizes, “They have a tremendous reserve of flesh in them. So, two of them contain enough energy equivalent to a Shifter. This is despite the energy losses due to using the Relic. Had you been a Shifter with Bone Devour, the efficiency would have been even higher.”
Regen constantly healed his body’s damage as Jyorta absorbed as much energy as possible. He was also multi-tasking as he riled up his aura to condense a tattoo. After all, Regen also replenished his aura, allowing him to condense as much as possible to create every tattoo.
And, to certify for his use, he intended to create a tattoo by condensing all his presence into each. This way, they would last longer while manipulating the Armadillos.
Every minute, his Sync Rate increased by 0.1 percent, causing Jyorta to become high with the feeling, causing him to exclaim, “Every Unranked Skill has their respective advantage. But, Bone Devour is indeed the best. This growth speed is unattainable with any other Unranked Skill.”
