Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 35
“Haesha, I’m actually feeling pretty great these days. You don’t need to waste the money that would allow you to reach Tier 3. That takes more priority than my treatment. You can treat me yourself once you become a Wave Controller.” A middle-aged man—that lacked a pair of legs—was pushed on a wheelchair while he spoke in fluster, “The treatment is too expensive. You shouldn’t waste…”
“Dad, shut up!” Haesha said in anger, “Just get treated first. You can’t refuse anyway since I’m the one pushing your wheelchair.”
“My precious daughter, that Tier 3 Relic has significant value. You should use it for yourself rather than waste it on me.” Her father continued to speak in panic, “It is the first time anyone in our family line obtained a Tier 3 Relic. You shouldn’t waste it on me.”
“Dad, just give up. Haesha already paid the bill.” The rough voice of a man resounded as he said, gently patting his father’s shoulder, “We’ll talk about the rest once you have recovered.”
The middle-aged man sighed, seeing the expressions of worry plastered on the faces of his children, “I may have been a useless father, but I’ve been blessed with treasures for children.”
“I’ll take it over from this point.” A nurse arrived and took hold of the wheelchair, beginning to push it towards a ward, noticing something as she glanced at Haesha, “Which hospital have you been posted at?”
Haesha felt like she sensed a bit of psychic energy, but it was so fast that she was unable to get a hold of it. Thinking that it was because the nurse had probed her, she nodded, “I’ve been posted as a nurse in Aurora Hospital.”
“Aurora Hospital?” The nurse was surprised, doubling down her senses onto Haesha, thinking, ‘Is she that talented? Doesn’t the best of healers join the Aurora Hospital? That’s the subsidiary under Madam Mary.’
“Alright, come with me. You can watch your father’s treatment process and gain some experience.” The nurse said, thinking, ‘Might as well make a connection with her. It might prove useful in the future.’
“Thank you very much!” Haesha was overjoyed, following the nurse as she consoled her father along the way.
Seeing her confident back, Haesha’s brother said after a sigh, “She has grown a lot.”
“She’s no longer a child that needs our protection.”
…
“Uwak!” Jyorta clenched his head as he shuddered, feeling intense main as it felt like his mind was being ripped apart into pieces, “Urrghh!”
“Are you alright, Jyorta Bone?” Henrik asked in alarm, sensing that Jyorta’s hormonal balance had gone haywire, causing his organs to begin to stress as they worked in overdrive. His brain sent numerous signals that actuated his muscles for no reason whatsoever, also causing him difficulty in the involuntary muscular process such as breathing, blood circulation, etc.
“It’s…nothing! Please return to sleep! I’m…at a critical juncture in your treatment…hurry!” Jyorta said as blood bled from his nose. His eyes were bloodshot, streaming down tears while his forehead was hot.
He tried to use Regen but failed to activate it, for, in his mind, a war was being waged on. It was between Henrik’s personality and Jyorta’s. Currently, they were tussling in his soul, influencing his mind accordingly.
Henrik’s memory fragments formed a gigantic cluster, shaping itself into a beast with four arms that constantly bombarded his memory fragments. And, it was exerting its influence, affecting his mind, causing him to hallucinate that he was Henrik Bone.
And in response, his personality too was exerting its influence, causing the two to influence his mind at the same time, actuating two different sets of behaviour simultaneously. Due to this, his body was unable to do anything.
When Jyorta tried to use Regen to calm his mind a little, Henrik’s personality prevented the use, also causing him more headaches at the same time.
Everything started when Jyorta had resumed his treatment on Henrik Bone. After some time passed, his Soul Cornea had just penetrated through the Soul Cocoon shielding Henrik’s soul when suddenly, murkiness that had been solidified into a tiny stone shot out from Henrik’s soul.
And as he had activated his soul domain, it meant both Jyorta’s and Henrik’s souls were in the same dimension now, allowing the solidified murkiness to reach the blue soul and bore into it easily.
As both his Soul Corneas were working, they weren’t able to react fast enough, not to mention the fact that the solidified murkiness travelled at a speed faster than what his Soul Corneas could achieve.
After all, his Soul Corneas were currently able to travel at a speed of six metres per second, thanks to his soul domain having reached a radius of six metres. The blue soul had yet to reach the peak of being a Tier 2 Psychic Parasite—a domain radius of 10 metres.
The moment the solidified murkiness entered the blue soul, all the memory fragments that he had siphoned from Henrik became active instantly, grabbing hold of the solidified murkiness to make it their core, using it to turn into an active personality that attacked his memory fragments.
This was a result of his oversight. After all, this was his first time working with the memory fragments of someone at Tier 4.
Until Tier 3, a living being was just the stronger version of the previous Tier. But, the moment one reached Tier 4, they would evolve to become incomparably different. Whether it be aura, Skills, presence, body, mind, etc. everything would achieve a qualitative improvement.
And Henrik was a Ground Controller atop that, possessing a supercomputer for a mind, able to process countless thoughts and actions. And, his murkiness stemmed from the desires of his body, which were actuated by his mind.
And, since Jyorta vaporised all the murkiness, his soul became clean, allowing his memory fragments to completely influence his mind. And due to that, the next wave of murkiness that was generated by his body was accordingly, subconsciously created to counter Jyorta Bone the next time he invaded the soul.
After all, whatever he did was remembered by Henrik’s soul, as it was an action involving the souls themselves. Jyorta didn’t understand the cause, as this was his first time working on the soul of a Tier 4 being. And, that proved to be fatal, working against his favour.
Therefore, the moment he invaded, Henrik’s soul attacked in response, riling up his memory fragments stored in the blue soul, leading to the current sequence of events.
