Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 36
Soul Cornea!
The Soul Cornea siphoning energy from the soul of the Tier 3 River Whale returned as the blue soul used it to wrap around the rampaging memory fragments, coiling further and further like a python before unleashing enough pressure to shatter the construct.
Right when the memory fragments broke into pieces, it coiled around the spilled fragments, separating them into many cocoons that it formed using its body. Thanks to that, the influence on his mind vanished as Jyorta’s personality regained control over everything.
Unranked Skill—Regen!
One of his psychic arms healed the damage to his body and mind, allowing him to relax after a minute had passed in response, saying, “I’m fine now.”
Only after that did Henrik close his eyes, having judged that whatever he was facing, Jyorta had managed to overcome them.
‘That was dangerous.’ Jyorta sighed in relief, quickly regaining his wits about himself as he healed his mind, bolstering his defences before beginning to vaporise the solid murkiness that acted as the core of the revolt in the blue soul.
It seemed a considerable amount of murkiness had been condensed to result in the solid. Therefore, Jyorta had to expend a lot of energy to finally vaporise it, consuming an hour to do so. Once that happened, Henrik’s memory fragments in the blue soul turned docile, no longer acting up.
Even though they still had their ego, but when they tried to join together, the blue soul used its soul tendrils to break them apart. That was also how he maintained the memory fragments originating from the hundreds of Frenzy Beasts.
Honestly, the more the number of memory fragments—that hadn’t been comprehended—accumulated, the greater the risks and maintenance. After all, the ego in them caused them to form clusters that tried to wrestle control with his memory fragments.
And to prevent that, the soul tendrils had to constantly break them apart. And all of this wasted soul energy. After all, even the memory fragments of the Frenzy Beasts gradually absorbed soul energy from the blue soul to spark resistance.
In the end, he was the one losing strength to constantly maintain them, ‘I have to work on them next and reach the peak of Tier 2 as a Psychic Parasite. That would boost my abilities further.’
Now that he had mitigated all the problems in the blue soul, Jyorta sent a Soul Cornea deeper into Henrik’s soul, vaporising the remainder murkiness within it, noticing the state of the Hoberman Sphere enveloping the soul core of Henrik’s Wisdom Parasite, ‘Hmm, it hasn’t been damaged much. And, it has begun to influence the Wisdom Parasite a bit.’
Using the Soul Cornea, he began to influence it further, repairing the damage while adding more experience fragments into it, selecting the appropriate memory fragments to do the job.
His objective was to gradually separate Henrik’s Wisdom Parasite’s mind from its body, i.e. to put it into a hallucination where it thought it was influencing Henrik. But in actuality, it was influencing the ‘Henrik’ that was present in the hallucination.
This way, Henrik Bone would be free of its ravings for a certain duration. This wasn’t a permanent solution though, as the Wisdom Parasite would be constantly siphoning memories from him. And, this included the memories of him being free of its ravings.
This would create a sense of discrepancy. So, over time, the Wisdom Parasite would become aware of the scheme and would break out of it. But, as to how long it takes to realise this and break free, that was what Jyorta was working on.
He was working on creating layers of hallucinations one over another. So, once the Wisdom Parasite realised the discrepancy between what it was experiencing and the memories it obtained, it would break free of the hallucination.
Now, it would observe that Henrik was using an ability to cause the previous situation. It would then attack Henrik like usual, wishing to take control of his body. But in actuality, this was another hallucination, a hallucination mimicking reality.
Eventually, the Wisdom Parasite would come to notice that even though it had taken control of Henrik, it wasn’t actually in control of his body yet, understanding that it was within another hallucination all along.
Jyorta planned to add a couple more layers of hallucinations above that. Since he was comprehending Henrik’s memories, he was confident of coming up with layers of hallucination that would delay his Wisdom Parasite by a year.
And by then, Henrik would have become a Sky Controller, weakening it both physically and mentally during the breakthrough. And by the time it recovers, he would have become a bit stronger at Tier 5, allowing him to peacefully consume a Cleansement Fruit.
Thanks to the Trait of Growth, he would be able to recover his abilities in the future and live as a Sky Controller.
After three hours, Jyorta had completed enough, sighing as he retracted his Soul Corneas, saying, “It’s done. I’ll continue tomorrow at the same time.”
“Now that I have enough understanding, I’ll be able to complete the treatment within a week.” Jyorta said, wiping his sweat, “I’ll be able to buy you around 10-12 months in time. If you haven’t managed to break through to Tier 5 by then, approach me once again. I should be able to extend it by a couple more months I think.”
“Thank you,” Henrik said, relieved as he could feel the clearness in his thoughts, asking in worry, “But, are you alright? I feel like you are sharing the mental load of my Wisdom Parasite. I don’t know how you are able to achieve this, but that’s risky.”
He said solemnly, “The Ravings from a Tier 4 Wisdom Parasite isn’t something your mind can handle. You’ll lose control at this rate.”
“Please don’t worry about that.” Jyorta laughed, “It might look like I am suffering, but I won’t ever lose control. This, I can say with assurance.”
‘After all, I have placed enough mental clues throughout my mind and soul. The moment my situation approaches danger, they would activate and protect me from losing my sense of self. Without this, I wouldn’t have dared to treat you.’ He thought, watching Henrik Bone sigh once before getting up.
Dusting his clothes, Henrik Bone glanced at the ten Tier 3 River Whales before saying, “By the way, you were summoned to the Bone Family Mansion to report at 6:00 PM today.. Don’t forget to head there.”
