Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 39
“Huff!” Jyorta exited a sand dune, coughing as he spat out all the sand that had entered his mouth, grunting as he weaselled out. He turned around, gazing at the spot where something had crashed before. Its impact had resulted in a wave of sand that buried him in the end.
Now that he took a proper look, Jyorta was shocked, “Aunt…?”
The one that had crashed into the ground was Havita Bone. Jyorta quickly approached her, noticing that she was bleeding, currently lacking an arm, having fallen unconscious.
Unranked Skill—Regen!
He was unable to understand just how a Transformer like her had been injured to such an extent, that too at the headquarters of the Bone Family. ‘Did grandfather injure her?’
He wasn’t sure. But, until he could confirm it, it’s not like he could leave his aunt alone. During his childhood, he had seldom met his aunt. She never got along with either Hubert Bone or Henrietta. So, Jyorta hardly ever came in contact with her.
Still, that didn’t slow down his speed of trying to save her. His psychic arms seeped into her head first, beginning to heal any damage that might have been the cause of her fainting.
Havita Bone was a Transformer. So, even if he were to expend all his psychic energy, he wouldn’t even be able to regrow the stump of her arm. After all, she might look like a regular human appearance-wise, but in reality, she weighed as much as a skyscraper.
The density of her flesh meant he had to expend energy accordingly to regrow them. But thankfully, she had Bone Devour. So, as long as he managed to wake her up, she would be able to save herself.
‘There is indeed something wrong with her mind.’ Jyorta felt some feedback through his psychic arm. He wasn’t a Wave Controller, so he wasn’t able to understand them. But still, he was able to make out a couple of information, frowning as he thought, ‘It seems like this attack directly harmed her mind.’
Thankfully, Regen was able to heal the mind too. So, Jyorta only focused on this task, healing her for a minute when Havita Bone’s eyelids flickered before they shot open. She was about to reflexively unleash her aura when Jyorta’s presence registered in her senses, causing her to stop herself on time.
“Jyorta…” Havita Bone waved her hand, motioning for him to stop healing her, “Thanks to you, the damage to my mind has been fully healed.”
“Aunt, what actually happened here? I tried to break out of this aura personification, but it grew in strength until I am unable to break out of it anymore.” Jyorta asked in a hurry, noticing how serious his aunt looked.
“The situation is like this,” Havita Bone sighed, looking around to make a sweep of the area using her detection methods, noticing that there wasn’t anyone in their surroundings, “Officially, Jyovic Bone and Hubert Bone have been sent on a dangerous mission into the Wilds by Rhachis Ancestor Light. There’s a good chance they won’t ever return.”
“Officially?” Jyorta caught onto her choice of words.
“Yes, officially.” Havita sighed, explaining, “But in actuality, Jyovic Bone had killed Hubert Bone.”
“What? Grandpa killed uncle? Why?” Jyorta was shocked, “He might be a madman, but even he wouldn’t resort to something like this, right?”
“There were actually four of us siblings. Jyunta, Hubert, me, and Henrietta.” Havita Bone got up, dusting herself as she used some of the energy in her Heart Crystal, regenerating her hand, “Jyunta was born a Child of Wisdom. So, he was supposed to be mercy killed, just like what we do for all Children of Wisdom. But, Jyovic Bone hid him all along within the territory of the Floating Spiders.”
Before Jyorta could speak, she continued in a hurry, noticing faint fluctuations in the temperature of the place, “Bone Devour, using this, Jyovic Bone wished to also attain the power of an Esper. He wished to become a Child of Wisdom and breakthrough to become an Ancestor similar to the Colossal Bawling Sheep. And for that, he devoured all his children.”
“All his children?” Jyorta became alarmed, retreating as he increased the distance between himself and Havita Bone, noticing the contradiction in her words.
“You don’t have to be alarmed. Jyovic Bone only devoured the Relic I produced after consuming a Cleansement Fruit.” Havita Bone said, “As for the rest, they weren’t lucky. Your mother too was a victim. Heima should be more aware of the specifics. Ask her later. She has been investigating into your grandfather’s plans all along.”
“Wait, it makes no sense.” Jyorta was confused, “So, to become a Child of Wisdom, grandfather devoured mother and uncle Hubert. Is that it?”
“That’s true.” Havita Bone nodded, sighing, “Since I have no use in his plans, he let me return to Marble City and inform Ancestor Marble about everything.”
“I understand,” Jyorta nodded, asking, “How is that related to our current situation?”
‘I understand?’ Havita’s eyes widened in surprise upon seeing Jyorta’s nonchalant reaction, ‘I delivered the news that his mother had been killed by his grandfather. And that’s his reaction? I understand? What the heck!’
Even though she was surprised, Havita didn’t show any expression on her face, saying, “So, once I relayed the official reason to the family members, Hubert’s wife lost control. It seemed she had been having suspicions all along. And my news only served to trigger her.”
“And the problem is the fact that when she lost control, her Bone Devour acted up for some reason. Something from within her erupted and devoured her entirely, including a couple of Elders of the family that had been near her at the time.” Havita said, frowning as she looked around, “And that resulted in this.”
“The cause was her Tier 3 Skill. It had been the culprit that turned sentient for some reason and took matters into its own initiative, creating such a domain of aura that has pulled all of us into it.” She spoke.
“A Tier 3 Skill resulted in such a terrifying place that also managed to injure you to such an extent?” Jyorta felt a prickling sensation as he could feel his body shuddering in fear, as if something terrifying was crawling towards him at an alarming pace.
“Yes, it’s an odd Skill that has been popping up in a lot of Developers in the past couple of decades.” Havita said, recalling the scene from when she was injured, saying, “This is one of the two Tier 3 Skills that we lack an understanding of…”
“Tier 3 Skill, Raging Momentum.”
