Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 41
Aura Beasts!
The moment he saw them, the term popped into his mind. After all, Jyorta was able to feel a mild familiarity in them, one that caused him to shudder.
The aura he had expended at the start to break out of the aura personification had now been absorbed by the place to birth some Aura Beasts.
“Shit!” Jyorta condensed his two psychic arms, wrapping them around him into a bubble as he rolled on the ground, watching all the approaching Aura Beasts raise their hands his way.
Aura Beam!
More than ten Aura Beams slammed into the place he had been standing upon before, causing a tide of sand to spill over, forming a wave that drowned everything, also covering the oasis that he had been taking shade under.
To avoid on time, Jyorta had rolled on the ground, arriving at the foot of a sand dune to make it act as his shield. And now, he was buried under all the sand that fell on him.
“How the heck are they able to use my abilities?” Jyorta muttered in a daze before he gathered his bearings, pedalling through the sand as he slowly surfaced, exiting the sand as he noticed that he was surrounded by the Aura Beasts.
They were called Aura Beasts.
But in actuality, they looked no different to humanoid creatures sharing some resemblance to his facial features. After all, they had been formed by using his aura.
‘That’s strange.’ He frowned, noticing that only their upper halves resembled him. But as for the lower halves, they resembled the legs of a lizard creature with a webbed feet pattern that allowed them to move better on this desert terrain.
One of the Aura Beasts jumped towards him, aiming a kick at his face when Jyorta glared at it, sending a minor pulse of aura mixed with corrosion at its head, disorienting its sense for an instant.
As its form destabilised, he bent backwards, dodging the attack before pulling his legs out of the sand. He immediately rolled on the ground, watching another Aura Beast land on the spot he was upon.
One of his psychic arms coiled around the neck of an Aura Beast, turning jet black as it snapped the neck, melting through it like it was jelly.
Jyorta retracted his defence, modifying both his psychic arms into blades as he spun his body a couple of times, turning their bladed ends jet black as they slashed through the Aura Beasts surrounding him.
Aura Wave!
Followed by the slash attacks was an Aura Wave that he used to send them all flying away as faint lightning bolts flickered across their bodies, melting them accordingly.
“Hahh…huff…” He grunted, collapsing to the ground in exhaustion as he felt difficulty in breathing for a moment. He then looked around, noticing that the damage to all the Aura Beasts was beginning to wane.
He observed the neck of the Aura Beast that he had melted through was beginning to regenerate too. Rather, the body began to condense a new head while the head too seemed to be condensing a new body.
But, it was apparent that the head would need a long time before it could finish condensing a body.
Jyorta arrived before it, thinking for a moment before he stomped on the head, noticing it cave into the sand a bit. He raised his leg high up and slammed forth with all his strength, shattering the head when he noticed some faint aura converge into his leg and course through his body, replenishing his reserves by a minute sum.
It was minute to the extent it was negligible.
“That’s…surprising,” Jyorta muttered in surprise, not because he received some aura from his opponent but because he could feel his presence turning tougher by a minute sum.
Fighting in this place was no different to tempering his presence, after all, he was here with only his presence, “This’ll help me develop my Tower of God project better.”
Thinking as such, Jyorta stomped on all the severed bodies of the Aura Beasts, destroying them all as he watched them dissipate soon after. “But, I’ve already expended all my aura reserves in this fight.”
He was worried. Even if he could temper his presence thanks to the fight in the place, once his aura reserves were emptied, he would be helpless and in danger. After all, he was unaware of the repercussions of having his presence devoured here by the Aura Beasts.
“Let’s gamble a bit.” Jyorta thought before he started digging through the sand, soon pulling out a banana from within, gazing at it as he peeled its skin before taking a bite, laughing immediately.
“As expected, since this aura personification is taking energy from the outside world, and since the aura I expended allowed it to birth some Aura Beasts, it means those that resemble edible stuff are indeed beneficial.”
Eating the banana replenished his aura reserves by a little. Seeing that, Jyorta began to eat through them all, noticing that he still had around five bananas left once his aura reserves were fully replenished.
He took out a banana leaf, made some cuts on it before creating a tiny bag to keep the bananas safe within as he tied it up around his hip.
Jyorta then used another piece of banana leaf to create a small cup as he approached the pond, one that had been almost fully buried. There was a small part of it still remaining as he scooped up some water and drank it, sighing in relief, “That is pretty tasty.”
He then thought of something, shaping his weaker psychic arm into a bottle. Its entrance began to spin as it created a mild suction force, sucking in the water from the pond.
Once he sucked in around three litres of the water, he stopped, for the remainder was dirtied by the sand.
Though, Jyorta noticed that the sand was slowly sinking into the water as faint winds carried the rest away, nodding in surprise, “It seems this oasis would recover within a day to its original state.”
He plucked a large banana leaf before attaching its ends to his shoulders, causing it to arch overhead, shielding him from the blinding sun.. Upon noticing a couple of Aura Beasts far away, Jyorta turned around and began to walk away, intending to find another oasis to rest and plan his actions.
