Psychic Parasite: Final Serenity - Chapter 42
His weaker psychic arm carried the water and healed his body from time to time. As for the stronger psychic arm, it had layered atop his body, including the banana leaf shielding him from the heat. This way, he moved without the winds damaging it.
Moreover, he wrapped it around him, slowly modifying it accordingly as he moved, trying to optimise the design and reduce the air resistance it faced. ‘Thanks to this banana leaf, the amount of psychic energy I’m expending to remain unaffected by the heat is less than a tenth of before.’
‘But, how is this place working?’ Jyorta was unable to make sense of it, closing his eyes to see that the blue soul was still able to take action. By sending out a Soul Cornea, he observed the corridor in which he now lay on the floor, eyes vacant, drooling a little.
The two Soul Corneas looked around, noticing a couple more Bone Family members lying on the corridor.
“Let’s see what happens next.” Jyorta thought as the blue soul extracted some memory fragments, creating a temporary false persona, layering it over him.
Immediately, his body got up, though it was wobbly. His eyes were closed, but his feet moved, allowing him to arrive before the elevator as his hands slowly moved up before pressing on the button.
Once the lift doors opened, he entered it and slumped on the floor once again, unable to maintain balance when the elevator moved down.
Thanks to the mental cues given by the temporary false persona, Jyorta entered a state akin to sleepwalking. Taking advantage of this, he moved his body accordingly, alternating the mental cues to force his body to move in the respective direction.
Though, this process was slow. After all, the changed mental clues had to take effect first before the body could move accordingly. But still, it was better than being trapped in the place.
Even though his body was moving in reality, his presence within the aura personification remained the same, not moving even a little. It seemed like his presence was locked up within the aura personification, just like what he had done to the presence of the Frenzy Beasts that he had killed in the Labyrinth of Frenzy.
‘What would happen once my body escapes this sphere of influence?’ He was curious, wishing to see just what was up.
In the aura personification, it seemed at first glance that he was trapped in the place. But in actuality, only his presence was trapped here. And, since all of his abilities, character, etc. were recorded in his presence, he hadn’t realised this point.
“This is exactly what I plan to have in my project too.” Jyorta nodded in response as his body—in reality—now arrived at the ground floor, wobbling around as it slowly walked forward, soon reaching the exit.
Suddenly, his body tumbled upon coming in contact with an energy barrier, about to collapse to the ground when a psychic arm grabbed hold of him.
Right at this time, his eyes shot open as he realised that he was back, looking around to see a lot of people surrounding the Bone Family mansion.
“Jyorta Bone, can you explain what had happened inside?” Psychic Ancestor Marble asked, having condensed a magenta figure to speak.
Jyorta didn’t immediately reply, orienting his thoughts as he turned around, noticing his master, Vaika hovering in the air, constantly fuelling her aura into the barrier that was cast around the Bone Family mansion.
It seemed she was the reason the aura personification hadn’t expanded in range.
Upon seeing him hesitate for a moment, Psychic Ancestor Marble erected a barrier around themselves, turning it magenta to prevent anyone else to figure out the contents of the conversation based on lip movement, “You can speak freely now.”
“Yes,” Nodding in response, Jyorta began to tell everything that Havita Bone had relayed to him. He also added in his thoughts on the matter, saying at the end, “This aura personification is one where our minds are trapped within our presences and sucked into this place. There are hints of Mind Path in this condensation of Aura Path.”
“That’s where it gets troublesome,” Psychic Ancestor Marble frowned, “Mind Path is tough to guard against. Even though their bodies are unaffected and their aura reserves can simply be replenished through Regen, since their minds are trapped in the place, we cannot rescue them. How did you escape, Jyorta Bone?”
“Through the Soul Path, sir.” Jyorta said in response, “I used my memories to give myself some mental cue and slowly cause my body to move. I used a state similar to sleep-walking to achieve this.”
“But, it still doesn’t explain how your mind returned to reality. All you did was escape the range of its influence. If this is all it requires, I can simply bring everyone out.” Psychic Ancestor Marble continued after a moment of thought, “Let’s just wait for Strongest to come here and take charge of things. He’s the expert in this field.”
An hour later, Rhachis Ancestor Strongest arrived at the scene, having already been briefed about everything by Psychic Ancestor Marble.
Upon seeing the aura personification that had enveloped the Bone Family mansion, he said with a frown, “Damn, to think this would happen naturally.”
“Do you know about it?” Psychic Ancestor Marble asked curiously. Since this was the first time such a phenomenon had happened, he was probing for information from it first. Otherwise, he could easily snuff the place out of existence using his aura.
If there was a first, there was bound to be more in the future. So, they had to obtain enough information about everything before that.
Rhachis Ancestor Strongest then whispered to Psychic Ancestor Marble, “You know how the Earth is developing based on our growth, right? It influences changes in us and uses our accumulation to develop in the four Paths.”
Seeing Psychic Ancestor Marble nod in response, he continued, “And, two abilities that are at the peak of the Aura Path have fused to create this…place.”
“Dawn’s Aura Impersonation and my Aura Manifestation.”
