Psycho X Psychic - Chapter 248
“Did something happen?!”
Ivan shouted as soon as he entered the room while Eron was missing.
“Wait, Uncles! Don’t be hasty! Eight is just freaking out because his sight is cured!”
First immediately panicked and jumped at the space behind Teren. But midway, she seemed to hit something who groaned upon impact.
Teren looked back and saw that Eron would’ve been in a lucky position if not for the fact that the woman who pushed him down was his niece.
“You didn’t have to hit so hard, First.”
Eron didn’t raise his voice since he knew that First was just acting on her instinct.
Teren looked at this and a thought entered his mind.
‘They can’t see each other even when they’re invisible?’
When First stood up, she offered her hand with an apologizing expression.
“Hehe, sorry, Uncle Er, just think of it as payback for your sexual harassment earlier.”
“… ah, I guess I overstepped the line earlier.”
“Yes, yes.”
First nodded as she pull her uncle up. After that small charade, Ivan had finished checking up on Eight and looked at Teren to ask.
“Is this permanent?”
“You can come to me if it isn’t in the future.”
Teren answered with a smile. Even he himself was impressed by his Spirit of Healing. Along with his body, this Spirit was improving as he solely focused on it. But it was nothing special, he knew people who can ‘upgrade’ Spirits into Great Spirits.
They are called Waymakers.
He was not far from being one but currently, he couldn’t be called a Waymaker. He needs to be able to communicate with the Spirit in his possession first which he does not have the ability to.
After hearing Teren’s answer, Ivan glanced at Eron. The latter signaled his head that Ivan can do whatever he wants while dusting himself off.
“Okay, Teren, come with me.”
Ivan said before he turned around and walked out of the room. Teren followed after taking a glance at Eight who was having mixed emotions towards him.
He didn’t know if he should feel fear or gratefulness. Despair shrouded him every night, thinking that he would be blind for the rest of his life. Then it was cured by the same person who caused it. Eight was confused. He shouldn’t feel glad and grateful since Teren was just fixing what he did.
“Eight, do you feel anything weird?”
First walked over, acting like an elder sister after acting like a child in front of her uncles.
“I’m fine, Sis… but what is the devil doing here?”
“…”
Since she didn’t know what to say, she looked at Eron who stayed there…
Meanwhile, Ivan led Teren to the master room after a couple of minutes of driving. The ‘master room’ was another mansion, albeit much smaller than the main one at the front. However, the yard surrounding this second mansion was much wider compared to the first.
“Only the leaders of the Drago House can enter from here out. For now, I’m the acting leader, as you know. Therefore, I have the right to enter and invite anyone for a valid reason. That’s why Eron stayed since there wouldn’t be a difference if he comes or not, so it’s not valid that he should be here.”
Ivan explained which pointed out that Teren have gained some trust after his action.
Soon, they came down from the car and then stood up in front of the double door. This double door doesn’t seem to be wooden. From how glossy it is, it seemed to be metallic.
After a moment of standing still, the door slowly opened. As soon as the door opened, a group of servants was lined up, their genders mixed.
“Good day, Master.”
They all greeted in synch.
Ivan just nodded and talked to the leading servant who soon nodded and guided them into the top floor. Teren at the leading maid and found that she was strangely familiar. This maid then glanced at Teren before stepping aside as they reached their destination. There was another double door. This time, it was more elegant than the rest.
It opened and Teren was finally able to see the original Dragon Lord, Oldren. But compared to the hotheaded Oldren he saw back then, Teren noticed this Dragon Lord being past his prime even though a few years have just passed. Lying on the bed, weak, and pale.
“He’s in a coma.”
Ivan said as he walked over to the bed, looking at Oldren with a sad expression.
‘He’s not.’
Teren heard something before picking up several footsteps behind him.
Bam*
The door closed. Teren looked and it was just the servants.
“Don’t mind them, they are servants hand-picked by Brother Oldren to take care of him.”
‘They are not.’
Teren gulped.
“Would you mind checking my Brother Oldren and see if there’s anything you can do. I know you just cure Eight so if you need time to rest first, we can do that. A day later will have no difference, maybe.”
Ivan invited Teren towards the bed where Oldren was lying with his eyes closed.
Teren glanced side by side before nodding.
“Okay, I’ll look.”
“Thank you.”
Ivan said with a sincere tone.
Teren then walked over to the bed. It was king-size, therefore, he had to come up to the bed on his knees to check up on Oldren.
There, he felt a pulse… a weak pulse.
‘Careful’
Teren suddenly flinched and reached out his hand, grabbing the air in front of him.
“Urgh…!”
The invisible person then manifested itself and upon closer look, it was the leading maid earlier.
“Teren, release her!”
Ivan gasped as the situation escalated.
“No… my job is done.”
The leading maid said with a vicious smile. Teren looked down and saw that a knife in her hand have already been stabbed onto Oldren’s chest.
Teren squinted his eyes to this before holding the leading maid’s wrist.
The maid groaned and pain as she released the knife.
“Teren!”
Ivan’s expression began to shift from sincere to panicking.
“What’s the meaning of this? That’s why this woman is familiar… she’s Kenavie, an Elite from the Serpen House.”
Teren finally recognized her. Back when the Handwing Gang just dissolved, the Titanes House paid them a visit. However, they were no match for Teren and Eron with his backup. Upon chasing Gant, two Elites from two different houses showed up to stop him.
They only stopped him to show respect for the Titan Lord overseeing the matter.
One of them, an Elite from the Serpen House, Kenavie.
Seeing how troubled Ivan’s expression is, he doesn’t seem to be oblivious to her identity. Moreover, it’s more likely that they are in cahoots.
“You schemed against Oldren with the Serpen House, Ivan?”
Teren didn’t tighten his grip on Kenavie’s neck as he slowly pulled her to him. If he killed her, then Ivan wouldn’t need any restraint. He will use her as a hostage or as a meatshield, depending on the situation.
Seeing that Teren was using her as a hostage, meaning, as long as Ivan stays passive, Teren will not overstep the line.
Thinking like this, Ivan calmed himself down.
“Yes, that’s right. You, realizing that after all this isn’t a surprise. However, how do you know she’s there? From what I learned, you shouldn’t be able to sense our presence anymore.”
Ivan was there at the meeting when Professor Milliv presented Teren’s weaknesses. Even Million have made a testimony that Teren didn’t have any Spirits within him.
But truth to be told, it was only possible because Teren was ‘warned’ before he came here.
“I’ve fought with your people before. From what I learned, you are all trained how to position yourselves within a fight since you cannot see each other too.”
With Teren’s deep fighting experience, he can tell by instinct what will the enemy’s next move is just by seeing past actions. Of course, a battle is way complicated and his instincts are far from one hundred percent accurate. However, the Drago people only have one chain of movements. If they don’t follow this, they will bump with one another and may cause death in the middle of a battle.
That can explain why there’s one big mansion here. It’s for them to easily interact with each other and train together whenever possible.
Furthermore, fortunately, the one who is invisible right now was from the Drago House. Her specialty is in another area. As expected from an Elite, she was able to use another house’s specialty. However, it was only at the bare minimum.
With all these factors combined, Teren was able to slightly sense this invisible figure. The only factor that didn’t go his way was that the maid’s malice wasn’t towards him. Even without a Spirit of Sensing Malice, Teren has already ingrained that ability in him.
Although not as potent as when he had the Spirit of Sensing, he was able to faintly feel it as if he has a sixth sense.
“So, it is because of experience… Fine, let her go and we could have a talk about this.”
Ivan noticed his mistake. He should’ve reacted shocked at the situation instead of being worried about the maid. If he reacted shocked, he could’ve played dumb and told Teren that he have no idea what’s happening either.
However, how the hell would he expect that Teren can catch an invisible Serpen Elite!?
