Psycho X Psychic - Chapter 255
Teren had reached the second mansion and just jumped onto the top floor with all he got, running vertically onto the wall before managing to hook his hand onto the broken wall.
But, of course, he saw Kenavie so he didn’t waste his time as he pulled himself upward, kicking her away.
Swoosh*
But he just hit the empty air.
“We meet again, the third time.”
Kenavie said with a serious face as she hold her neck that was gripped tight by Teren earlier.
“I would’ve been back much sooner if I could.”
Teren answered as he glanced at the Oldren’s body on the bed.
Kenavie signaled her people to wait as she herself was wary of Teren. Meanwhile, Teren was wary of her too. He only caught her off-guarded earlier because she must’ve been confident she wouldn’t be seen.
“Why did you come back? For the corpse?”
Kenavie glanced at Oldren’s body too, following Teren’s line of eyesight.
“You didn’t do anything to him?”
“Of course not, the news that the Drago Lord is killed under the Devil Himself’s hands will be out. We cannot touch the body or we may leave some evidence. Also, there’s no one around here except for us, don’t think that there’s going to happen by me confessing.”
“I take that as you wouldn’t let me out alive, right?”
Teren continued the conversation as he walked towards Oldren’s body, putting his hand on the Drago Lord’s body as if he’s inspecting it.
“It’s hard not to kill the Drago Lord. Our poison is a sure one touch, one kill. Once we get the Spirit-Embedded clothing of the Drago House, we can kill without anyone seeing us.”
Kenavie said to which Teren replied.
“You’re babbling the truth to stall time?”
He asked.
“… we know that you got the Great Spirit of Healing… you counter our poison.”
Kenavie said since she’s aware that Teren already knew this. If not, how can he be confident there? He should be running away already since the Serpen House is known for its deadliness. However, Teren seemed to be in a very sorry state, is he bluffing? She thought.
But he is still the Devil Himself. Serpen people are careful in nature, only striking when the opportunity shows itself. They are assassins. However, the strength of their poison led them to be overconfident. They are either hesitant or overconfident.
Right now, Kenavie was just waiting for Ivan to return. It would be weird too if the servants were able to kill the Devil Himself. At the very least, they could act once Ivan’s here. He could just obliterate any evidence along with Teren’s body.
“Why did you want to frame me?”
Teren asked since Kenavie’s mouth is currently loose.
“…”
But she didn’t speak of it. Towards this, Teren got off the bed.
“We wanted to frame you because the Drago Lord is miraculously fighting off the poison. We can no longer touch him since this place should be secured. Ivan would become suspicious if anything further happens to the Drago Lord and that’s why he invited you, the ruthless and merciless Devil Himself.”
A bead of sweat glided from Kenavie’s forehead. Teren towards them almost made her heart jump so she talked in the hope to make him stay.
‘Once Ivan’s here, this devil’s just going to die anyway. So what if he knows the truth?’
But that begs the question, why is he back?
Kenavie looked at the Drago Lord’s body and realized something. But soon, she shook this thought off.
‘The poison is already making him fight for his life. He’s much weaker than a normal person when I stabbed him. There’s no way he could survive that.’
Kenavie was so sure of it but why is there uneasiness shrouding her chest?
“Teren, it’s over.”
At that moment, Ivan appeared behind Teren with his mouth close to his head. Kenavie saw Ivan and felt immense relief. But at the next moment, Teren tried to stir something up.
“Aren’t Kenavie just using you to get the Spirit-Embedded clothing?”
“…”
Ivan paused and glanced at Kenavie. At the next moment, he chuckled.
“We’re using each other. This is business, I get the Serpen House’s help to kill my fool of a brother and then lend them some clothing.”
“But you have feelings for her, right? You wouldn’t be so worried earlier if not.”
“Huh? Ah… well…”
Ivan didn’t expect Teren to suddenly make the situation awkward. He glanced at Kenavie and saw that she was looking away with a bashful expression. Certainly not the proper time and place but this made the two shy.
“Well, you could say that.” he smiled as he made eye contact with Kenavie which she evaded her eyes at the next moment. Feeling the embarrassment, Ivan went to the next topic.
“Just stay still, I know you no longer have any energy left. Because if you do, you would’ve healed your right arm.”
Ivan’s throat began to glow orange and red as the temperature around him significantly increased.
“But you don’t want to ask why I came here even though I no longer have the energy?”
Teren turned his head around to look at Ivan in his eyes. However, Ivan no longer wants to delay this any further. He should just kill Teren and the rest will be much easier.
Fwoosh!*
“Gr!”
Before the beaming flame escaped Ivan’s throat, something palmed his jaw up, closing his mouth and tilting his head up high.
The beam still came from the little gap between his teeth and lips, making a big hole in the ceiling. That was his last breath and the beam soon ended. Ivan’s fire is the most destructive but it takes a lot of strength, endurance, and energy to use it.
With his attack obstructed, he stumbled back and looked at Teren with anger. But he was sure Teren didn’t move so who obstructed him?
Ivan panicked, thinking that Teren still have something up his sleeves. He was about to signal the Serpen people to help him but as he glanced, he noticed that something was missing… no, someone is missing.
“W-wait… where’s Brother Oldren?”
At this question, Teren sat onto the bed as he could finally relax and heal his arm. Meanwhile, Kenavie and the rest of her people turned pale when a person appeared from nowhere.
He looked much older than when he was at his prime which was oddly just a year ago. However, he still has that stern face and that retro mustache that smoke comes out of.
His name is Oldren Drago, the true Drago Lord.. A nerve popped out of his forehead as he looked down on his younger brother, Ivan.
