Psycho X Psychic - Chapter 266
Dehian immediately removed her hand the moment Hanon left the room. Afterward, only when the teacher was turning her back would they hold hands again or when a classmate, for some reason, turn their head in their direction.
Every time they would hold hands again, Teren would feel the shiver while he could not stop smiling with a blushed face that he had to cover his lips.
Even the second teacher found this weird but she was not in the mood to call him out. Even the teachers and school staffs are angry at the mayor. Some of them were having their paid time offs!
Afterward, the morning break arrived and Dehian immediately pulled her hand away before taking her book up. It’s because the moment the teacher left the room, their classmates would stand up.
Teren sighed since he still wants more. But it doesn’t seem like he’s the only one since he also heard another sigh from his seatmate.
However, he has to go now, he will have to talk to Hanon.
Arriving there, Hanon naturally frowned at him. Before he said anything, Teren explained what happened.
“Because of that!?”
Hanon raised his voice to which another teacher commented.
“Calm down, Hanon.”
“Oh, sorry, I’m not angry, I was just really surprised.”
Hanon scratched his head before looking at Teren again with a dumbfounded face.
“But fortunately, what Catherine said is all there is. She’s really inquisitive about it.”
“That’s good. But I also heard that the guys from Heren City Prison are leading the rebellious group.”
Hanon shook his head.
“They just thought that Mesi is the better leader. Without you there, no one can match up to him. However, Mesi himself is just being pushed by the flow. I think he’s too kind to deny them.”
“I see.”
Teren expected it already.
“Then I’ll show up later. In the Public, right?”
“… not really. We’re back at the warehouse since we don’t want to scare the kids. Christian has been accommodating but we are just being a bother there. But the new Aberrants were against this and want to properly claim Public as the Devi’s nest.”
After the two talked about the situation, Hanon was finally relieved. With Teren there, those new Aberrants would finally listen. Well, that is if Teren could match up to Messi. After all, Hanon has yet to see both at their full power.
Classes went back and Teren was quite nervous. When he sat, he peeked to his side and saw that Iesa was peeking at him too while the book was opened in front of her. Both immediately evaded each other’s eyes.
After a while, the teacher came in and began to write something on the board. Teren gulped before Iesa ‘stretched’ to which he took her hand. They repeated what they did earlier the moment the teacher would turn his back on them.
They were times that it became a game. Even though the teacher was just turning for a second, they would hold hands. Whenever they did so, Teren would hear a giggle from his side. He began to slightly sweat since his face was getting hotter and hotter by the moment.
That continued until lunch break. This time, Teren was not that disappointed that it was finished, becuase it’s not. The moment Iesa wanted to do it the second time means that she wanted to do it the third time, then the fourth time, and so on.
So with a bright smile, Teren stood up for lunch break.
“Where do you want to eat?”
He asked Nick.
“Ugh… sorry, I don’t have any money since-”
“I’ll pay you in advance for the job, come on.”
Teren waved his hand which Nick happily followed. He then asked how much it is then Teren suddenly said a big number. After all, he never thought of personal money as anything important. Giving it away would’ve relieved his burden instead.
When Nick heard of it, he declined and just suggested he would take a tenth of it. That tenth is already bigger than his taxing part-time which he got recently.
“Sure,” Teren didn’t push it and at that moment, he received a text. Catherine made sure that at every message, he would be notified so she put the notification sound loud.
Teren lowered it a little since it’s too loud for a notification. When he read it, he was already late.
[I’m on my way there.]
Texted by Trisha the moment Teren saw her in the street. She huffed a little before walking towards him. Meanwhile, Nick looked at her with his guard up.
‘She must be here for revenge.’
Nick is officially a member of the Devi House from the start. He is sometimes part of the skirmishes that occur within the city. After all, his brother, Nathan is a regular member of the fights so he was always invited. He would get money from it so Nick would obviously take the job.
‘However, I’m probably no match against her. She’s the Boss of the Public if I remember righ-‘
“Where are you going to have lunch?”
Trisha asked as she walked beside Teren without concern about personal space.
“I don’t know. How about you, Nick?”
He looked as if it’s natural that Trisha is coming.
“Uh… umm, I don’t eat out much.”
Nick replied after some thought. The mood wasn’t exactly he was expecting, making him question what is happening.
“Oh, yeah, wait, Trisha, this is Nick. Nick, Trisha.”
Teren made a brief introduction to which Trisha remembered this ‘tall dude’
“You’re the one who fought Chihua back then, right?”
“Chihua… the guy with you back then?”
Nick felt a little overwhelmed by her strong approach.
“Yeah, and speaking of Chihua. He’s with me but he’s slow. I’ll just text him the name of the restaurant.” Trisha then typed the name of the restaurant she wants to go but she let Teren take a peek first before deciding it for herself.
“Sure, that’s fine.”
As the three of them walked together, Teren and Trisha chatted. Nick would’ve felt out of place if not for Teren pulling him into the conversation.
Nick had lost his aggressiveness after he first encountered Teren again when they became Senior High School students. With the Great Spirit of Mind Altering’s effect dwindling, Nick began to realize that Teren was the reason for the disappearance of his ‘friends’
It was so obvious yet they were not able to realize it back then. At least, this is true for Nick since he knew who Teren really is. For others… it was just an idea in the back of their heads.
‘If I was still me before, I would’ve gone for Trisha. She’s pretty. Good thing, I’m no longer that dumb. She would’ve pulverized me if I were to meet her back then.’
Nick said. He began to be reserved after that incident, even towards girls. Strangely, he doesn’t feel anything towards the girls who are ‘close’ to Teren. He felt that he shouldn’t, stemming from his deep fear of Teren back then.
Now, it became a habit as he looked at Trisha as Teren’s ‘woman’. It was obvious, Trisha was aggressiveness could be seen from how she acted and speak but towards Teren, she would stay passive.
Soon later, they heard someone running from behind them.
They looked to see it was Chihua, huffing and sweating as if he had just run a full marathon.
“Oh, Chihua, you’re finally here. You’re so slow.”
Trisha laughed while Chihua tried to catch his breath first before replying.
“… you’re just… too fast, Boss…”
After his words, he looked at Teren with hostility but didn’t let it show through as it was only for a moment. He then noticed that Nick was with them, his guard got up more.
“Boss… why are we… with them?”
Chihua tried to whisper but he couldn’t get close to her.
“It’s fine.”
Trisha just plainly said before she went into the fast-food restaurant. The four of them sat and took an order. Trisha was the one who ordered for Chihua since she would be the one who pays for it… but actually, her food was just Teren’s treat. She had already taken it for granted since she knew Teren wouldn’t be bothered by it.
While waiting for the food, the four continued to chat. The four of them, but actually, the ones speaking are mostly Teren and Trisha. Nick and Chihua would only speak when they were asked. But compared to Chihua, Nick wasn’t uncomfortable. He was only concerned by Chihua’s frequent glance and it was not a friendly glance either.
When the food arrived, it was finally not that awkward for Chihua, at least. He was secretly clenching his fists the whole time Trisha was chatting to Teren. They were doing anything special though, he was just jealous. If he chose to speak, he would naturally enter the conversation but he didn’t.
Chihua was a little intimidated by the two if he were to be honest.
In the middle of the meal though, Teren suddenly took a tissue and wiped Trisha’s lips, making both Nick and Chihua pause.
“Wait… not here.”
Trisha whispered.
‘Not here?’ Chihua titled his head.
“Oh, sorry, it’s become a habit.”
Teren replied.
‘A habit!?’
Chihua felt his soul just left when his heart was shattered from pure jealousy.
