Purple Lightning Emperor - Chapter 30 The Sudden Enlightenmen
Time flowed by, and the night had already gone in a flash. The sun rose like a flower opening, gifting its petals unto the Egul Continent.
Currently, Shad was sitting on his bed in a meditative stance, totally immersed himself into his morning meditation.
After he had witnessed just the severity and the destructive power of a magical spell cast by a peak 9th class mage, he finally realized just how weak he was compared to those old monsters.
Not only him, everyone living in the imperial capital had witnessed this sight as well. A rain of fire poured down from the sky like a meteor shower.
Without even seeing the culprit, everyone had already known who it was. There was only one person who would dare to do something like that within the imperial capital and had that kind of power to do so, and that person was none other than the protector of the Empire as well as the Dean of Kalin Magic Academy, Franklin Djage.
At this moment, Shad’s eyes were tightly shut as he was sensing the power of the magic elements in the surrounding.
Generally, if one had a high affinity for the fire element, then the red colored fire element magic energy would be absorbed the most. If one were to have a high affinity for the earth element, then naturally the yellow colored earth magic element would be absorbed the most and so on.
Whether it was cultivating mana or battle qi, they were different tunes played with equal skill effects.
Meditation of magic or battle qi both put a tremendous emphasis on cultivating the mind.
Only after the mind was calmed down and at peace without any disturbance would one be able to sense the surrounding energy or entered into the state of meditation.
Within his mana pool, there were many strands of white lightning gathered below the purple lightning seed. Sensing his thought, the strands of white lightning started to fluttered and wiggled, as though they were a bunch of spoiled brats.
As for Shad, he could feel a deep connection with the lightning energy within his mana pool as though he could control them with just a thought.
Suddenly, Shad felt a deep connection with the surrounding area as though he was a part of nature itself. In the meantime, his spiritual force was released and merged with the surrounding and began absorbing the magic energy in the atmosphere within his body.
From his body, crackling and rattling sound unceasingly rang out, as a surge of terrifying magic energy surged about frenziedly within. Unbeknownst to him, Shad had suddenly gained a bit of enlightenment by coincidence and was in a semi-unconscious state.
While Shad was into that trance, his aura had completely vanished as though his soul had left his body. However, the surrounding magic energy was being crazily absorbed by his body.
Within his mana pool, the purple lightning seed was rotating unceasingly, transforming every bit of those incoming mana or magic energy into lightning energy or strands of white lightning. Most of those lightning energy stayed within his mana pool while some of them seeped within every cell of his body strengthening it.
In fact, the purple lightning seed within Shad’s mana pool had already changed his body into something different since the day he was reborn. Coupled with some extremely good benefits brought by the purple lightning seed, Shad’s body was far better than anything he could ever imagine.
Even though it was a slow process, Shad’s body was being refined every single day by the purple lightning seed with the purest essence of mana from the entire universe.
This type of essence would generally go unnoticed for normal people and even some powerful mages or warriors, However, it was a different story when it comes to an Archmage who had already gained the acknowledgment of their elemental attribute’s will.
Shad sat on his bed, immersed himself into this sudden enlightenment and in absorbing the magic elements. In that state, he had lost the concept of time. He just sat there on his bed like living statue.
After a long time, Shad felt as though the speed of gathering and absorbing the magic energy in the surrounding became slower and slower, and finally, he woke up from his meditative stance.
Shad opened his eyes, and in the depth of his eyes, a sharp destructive white light exploded forth, as bright as the glow of lightning. within his mana pool, the white bolts of lightning beneath the purple lightning seed had multiplied. Not only that, he felt as though his body had become stronger as well.
He felt extremely clear-headed and his spiritual force had become stronger and sharper. This was the transformation that had occurred as a result of the increase in his cultivation base.
Even though he had not broken through the 5th class mage, he was not far from it. Currently, he was at the peak of 4th class mage, only a tiny step away from the 5th class.
Shad already knew that his mana pool and his way of cultivation was unique and completely different from the others. As such, the amount of mana or magic energy he needed to move on to the next class or rank was two times greater than the others.
As he moved and stretched his body, a crisp sounds of cracking could be heard. From the sound of it, Shad must have been in that position for a long time.
Nonetheless, Shad really liked this kind of feelings. It was really marvelous and his body felt more comfortable.
” Little brat, you finally woke up.” A voice drifted over, Shad quickly looked down and to see his Great-grandfather lazily lying down on the floor, yawning and covering his mouth as though he was there for quite some time and was bored.
The old man’s voice was very gentle. His face had a smile as gentle as a light breeze. He slowly stood up and sat next to Shad. This old man was an easy going person.
This old man looked like an ordinary person and Shad could not feel the aura that an expert would normally emit from him. However, Shad clearly knew how powerful and ruthless this old man was.
” What are you doing in my room old man?.” Asked Shad with a perplexed look on his face. This old man was in his room, yet he did not feel his presence until he talked to him. If he was an assassin, he would have died without knowing who his killer was.
” Hehe, one day this old man will beat you to a pulp until you call me great-grandfather. ” said the old man with a mocking smile on his face.
” You just caused a ruckus within the palace. Almost all the magic energy surrounding the Imperial Palace was wildly coming straight towards your room. After two hours, I knew that you had accidentally entered a state of enlightenment, so I’ve ordered the Imperial knights not to let anyone entered your room, not even your father emperor. ”
” If you did not wake up just now, I am afraid you would have missed your own coming of age ceremony. That would have been so funny, hahaha…..”
Listening to the old man rigid laughter, Shad quickly looked out the window and found that the sun had already set, which means he had spent all the day in that trance.
” Good, it seemed like the barrier of the 5th class mage is as thin as a paper. If you practice those 5th class spells I’ve given you, you might break through that barrier.” Said the old man with a look of satisfaction on his face.
Deep down the old man was frightened because of Shad’s heaven-defying cultivation speed. Not too long ago he was just an early 4th class mage, now he was at the peak of 4th class. Just how much of freak this great-grandson of his was, he truly had underestimated this little monster.
Anyway, it was a very good news because Shad would probably be strong enough to participate in that contest next year. Just thinking about that, made the old man had a look of anticipation on his face.
” Anyway get ready, the ceremony is about to start.” Said the old man before patting Shad’s head and left the room.
After his great-grandfather had left, Shad released a long sigh of relief. Even though he knew that the old man means him no harm, he was still not used to this old man being too close to him because he felt as though this old man could pry into his deepest secret which frightened him.
He finally had a loving family, he did not want to be abandoned again. His new family was like a bright light in his ocean of darkness. If they ever find out about his secret, he could not dare to imagine their reactions. Would they abandon him? love him less or continue to love him like before? This was something that Shad did want to know as he was still afraid of the answer because deep down, he already knew the answer to that question.
After his great-grandfather left, Shad shifted his gaze towards the Book on the small table next to his bed. This book was none other than Henry’s Diary that his sister had bought for him from the auction for an astronomical price.
Last night after he got home, he was really impatient to read that book. However, he did not. He just skimmed through it, made sure it was really in English before he put it on the table, and the reason for that was simple, as soon he got home preparing to read that book, Shad felt two strong spiritual force locked on to him.
One belonged to his father while the other belonged to his great-grandfather, as such Shad did dare to read that book and pretended that he did not understand it. This book was something that the imperial family was aware off, they even tried to decipher it themselves once, especially his great-grandfather, yet they could not. Because of that, Shad did dare to go on as they would find out about his secret.
After a minute of contemplation, Shad put the book back into his magic pouch and went on downstairs to prepare for his coming of age ceremony.
