Purple Lightning Emperor - Chapter 57 Teleportation Magic Scroll
Listening to the cold voice of the 4th imperial prince reverberated through the darkness, they were all shocked because this voice was not strange to them.
They quickly looked at each other and had a conclusion in mind. This voice belonged to the 4th imperial prince. The very person that they sent to kill a few hours ago.
Within the room,
Silence…..utter silence.
They all fell into a near comatose silence as if their switch got turned off. The deadly silence hung in the air like the suspended moment before a falling glass shattered on the ground.
Only this time, it wasn’t the falling glass that was going to shatter but their livelihoods as the demon king had paid them a visit.
There was an absolute stillness within the room, and the silence was like a big hole, waiting to be filled with any sounds or noises.
At this moment they were all thinking about what the 4th imperial prince had said during the banquet.
It was as though each of these words and threats had started to seep into their every pore and bones, like a poison slowly paralyzing them and preventing them from either speech or movement.
As for the 2nd prince, Hegel, once he started picking up his thought and realized the gravity of the matter, fear engulfed his heart and overwhelmed his body. He could clearly feel the sweat-drenched his skin, the throbbing of his eyes as well as the thumping sound of his heart against his chest.
He could clearly hear his rapid breathing. Even his breath seemed to die as soon as it left his mouth.
He looked at the door hesitantly, waiting for the owner of that voice to make his entrance.
They were all having a secret meeting and waiting for the good news which was the death of the 4th imperial prince. This meeting was taken place in the 2nd prince’s palace, the most secure palace within the capital except for the Royal Palace.
The 2nd prince had set a rigorous defense line around the palace. Lots of royal guards as well some of the 2nd prince’s own troops were guarding this place. It wouldn’t be too exaggerated to say that even an ant couldn’t enter this palace and even flies couldn’t get near it. However, the 4th imperial prince had managed to sneak in without causing any ruckus or without alerting them.
If he didn’t say those words just now, nobody would notice that he was here, in the palace.
The biggest problem was that the 4th prince seemed to find out about them as well as the ambush.
” Who is it?.” asked the 2nd prince, even though he clearly knew who he was, he played dumb and pretended he didn’t know.
” The person that will take your life.”
The door of the room suddenly exploded. A young man in black stood at the door like a spear. His eyes were cold.
He looked at them and blandly said.” I have told you before, I will kill whoever dares to mess with the interest of the Djage empire, including his family. Yet, you tried to kill me. Don’t you know killing me was on the top list of messing with the interest of the Djage Empire.”
Listening to Shad, Hegel’s eyes were filled with anger and hatred as he was staring at him. He held his hand up to stop his people from taking and reckless moves, not that they would be able to as their legs were currently shaking and unable to move.
Hegel was a wise young man. He always got to know his enemy before any fights. However, it seemed that this enemy had fed them with false information and data.
While the others might think that they should kill the 4th prince here, Hegel had thought much deeper than them. He was only thinking about getting the hell out this place because he knew they were done for.
First of all, if the 4h imperial prince dared to come here alone and showed up in front of them all, he must have the confidence that he could kill them all by himself. Not only that, he might even have the whole palace surrounded because he had the power to use the royal guards as he pleased as his old man had given him the green light.
Furthermore, he knew that the 4th imperial prince was really strong due to the report he had just received.
Facing the encirclement of over twenty warriors and mages ….although they were not very powerful mages and warriors and not among the top figures in the Egul continent, it was after all twenty of them fighting together, yet he was able to kill them as though they were a bunch of babies without even having the chance to strike back. All of these proves that this 4th imperial prince wasn’t as simple as he seemed. Everything about him was weird and he was not even sure that he was using his full strength when he killed them.
Shad slowly walked into the living room and sat in one of the empty sofas. he took one fruit from the fruit basket that was on top of a small table and started to eat it as though he was in his own house.
” Hegel, you are a smart young man so I don’t have to get into all kinda interrogation and detail. So the question is, are you willing to come with me willingly or do you want me to bring your corpse to your father.” Shad was very relaxed as he was saying that as if the other ten men in the room were just some clay doll. He was only looking at the 2nd prince with his cold gaze.
” Damm, that fruit is pretty good, it reminded of fruit that I used to eat back in the day known as apple.” As he was saying that, he took out another one from the basket.
The fruit really looked like an apple but it was bigger and yellow but it tasted almost the same.
Seeing how carefree the 4th imperial prince was, Hegel knew that his fate had been sealed and not even his father or mother would be able to save him. The power of the Djage Imperial family wasn’t something that this puny kingdom could withstand.
He knew that he had messed up and there was no way he could stay in the Mulan kingdom anymore. This failure might even jeopardize what his cousin the 3rd prince of the Nicholas Empire including his mother had built all these years. However, there’s no way he could undo this failure, and now he had only one choice left.
If it were his big brother the crown prince that he had failed to assassinate. it wouldn’t have been a problem even if he was caught by his brother because he couldn’t just kill him. He would have to report it to his father and his father will decide what to do with him, but it wasn’t the case tonight.
The person he was trying to kill was the 4th imperial prince of the Djage Empire, one of the four overlords of the Egul continent. Even though he was a prince just like him, but his status meant nothing in his eyes, not even his father’s. They were both princes, yet in front of the 4th imperial prince, he was no different than a commoner.
” I guess you won this round, but don’t assume it’s over. It is just the beginning.”
Hegel knew that there was no need to plead or try to play innocent. The 4th prince had already caught him and there was nothing he could say or do that could prove he was innocent.
” Oh! you are speaking as though you will have a second chance, or leave this place alive,” Answered Shad as he shifted his cold gaze to Hegel.
As soon as their eyes met, Hegel felt like there was an electric current running down his back. Even his legs were shaking a little as he felt like a frog paralyzed by the stare of a snake.
After using his lightning power to fight against the people earlier, it hasn’t completely dissipated yet from his body. There was this zig-zag of lightning that kept and appearing and disappearing within Shad’s eyes which made him look more terrifying in the second prince’s eyes.
” Hehehehe, of course, there will be a second chance, and I will surely leave this place alive. Next time we meet will be your doom.”
As he said that he took out a scroll within his pocket and tore it apart. The scroll gave off a bright light which enveloped Hegel. His movement was so fast that Shad did not have any chances to react.
Once the light had dissipated, Hegel was nowhere to be seen.
” Teleportation magic scroll,” Shad said with a look of surprise in his face.
He was clearly aware of this kinda scroll but he never imagined that this puny prince possessed such an extremely valuable magic scroll.
This thing was so rare that his family only possess two of them. They had three but his great-grandfather had used one when he was exploring the Great Tower after he had encountered a real life and death situation.
As long as a person uses this magic scroll, this person could travel instantly to any place within three hundred kilometers. This magic scroll wasn’t something one could even purchase even if wanted to, Yet Hegel had one of them. It seemed like Hegel wasn’t as simple as he seemed.
The power of the scroll was amazing. In fact, the most terrifying thing about this scroll was the instant powerful effect. Even a powerful 9th class spatial mage would need some time to chant such a powerful magic spell. But, it wasn’t easy to find one. A 9th class mage was already considered as demi-god level existence in the Egul continent. A small kingdom could even become a powerful nation with just a 9th class mage as its protector.
” Good grief, it seemed like I greatly underestimated this Hegel. well, no matter, there will always be a next time.”
” Now, what I should do with you people,” He said as he shifted his gaze upon the other men that were within the living room. At this moment, all of them were sweating excessively as though the living room had turned into a Sauna. They were like a bunch of pigs in a slaughterhouse waiting for their inevitable fate.
