Queen Kohra - 41 41
“Kohra, do you know why you’re here?”
She was just a child, barely in her teen years. Her magix was just beginning to bloom too. She was having a hard time controlling it and yet, here she was, kidnapped by strange people.
“No. What do you want from me?”
“Oh, you’re an obstinate soul. I like that. Makes breaking you more fun”
“Who do you think you are? I am a royal. The royal guards will come after you, cut off your useless head, and save me. You wouldn’t dare to kill me”
She was bluffing and her captor knew it. It was easy to spot, else she wouldn’t have been kidnapped so easily. Among the royals, she was an outcast, an ordinary concubine’s daughter. She was weak and had no control over her powers. She was deemed a threat.
“Oh, is that so? You royal guards, no, even your queen cannot dare to cut my head off. I happen to be your goddess. I hear your pathetic little voice, praying to me every night, asking for power so you can liberate yourself and your weak father from the clutches of the royal family. Isn’t that so, Kohra?”
“You’re lying”
“I’m not. Your cousin, Jeir, the princess, is so much better than you. She has such a comfortable life and she may even be the next queen. Even your own half-sister, Sephira, is way better than you. You’re a nobody Kohra. No one would miss you if I killed you”
“No! You’re…..lying”
“Don’t fret little one, I only need one thing from you. After that, I’ll let you live. Who knows, you might even become queen”
The sheer madness in Muni’s eyes caused every fiber of Kohra’s being to tremble. She felt a suffocating presence, choking her. Her eyes watered and her throat dried. Her vision flickered and she felt faint.
Muni’s sword pierced her heart and dug out her divine spark. Kohra felt pain like she had never felt before, down to the recesses of her soul. She couldn’t cry out or kill herself. She felt like exploding.
“You can only die when I want you to” Muni said with a wicked smile, blood dripping from her hand. She ingested the divine spark in front of Kohra, not minding the blood and gore. Another god walked in as she was doing this.
“Are you done with her? Can I have fun with her? She looks so pretty”
“Sure. Remember to return her when you’re all done”
The god smirked and carried out of the room. That day, she was defiled in countless ways, she herself lost count. She swore to cut off Muni’s head herself. But now, lying on the ground, devoid of all powers and about to be killed, she recollected that feeling of helplessness that always haunted her.
Muni lowered the sword to pierce through her like she once did when a strong back appeared before her and took the strike meant for her through the chest. The person’s Magix snaked on the sword, destroying it before falling to the ground.
“Sephira! Nooo! Sephira”
“Kohra, my darling big sister…”
“Shhh, don’t say anymore. Anak, take her away”
Kohra rose with new vigor after she saw her sister’s sacrifice. The chaos finally enveloped her whole body, taking her to a whole new level of dangerousness.
Muni finally felt fear and began to reinforce herself. The first impact from Kohra’s fist shattered the shield. The next impact broke the sword. The third, went through Muni’s chest. Blue blood spilled all over Kohra’s shadowed hand but her eyes never strayed. She grabbed Muni’s head and ripped it off her neck.
“She has finally ascended. Queen Kohra is now a deity”

Everyone couldn’t help but take a bow as she walked past them. It was the first and last time they would lay their eyes on Kohra’s deity form; The reincarnation of chaos. She walked closer to where the bodies of two of her most precious relatives lie.
Eri’s blank eyes were focused on Jayar’s body, only looking and stepping away when Kohra approached. Jowe and Jeir were too shocked to even accept he was dead. Kitari could barely stop herself from trembling when Sephira lay there, lifeless. Beside her was the dead body of her husband. He took his life immediately he saw her die. He was part of the army fighting to protect the kingdom from the rebellion.
Kohra crouched beside Sephira’s body and took a long shaky breath. She had won, but at the cost of the lives of those, she cherished the most.
“Eri, did you kill him?”
“No your majesty. He took his own life”
“I’m sorry. I know you tried your best”
“It’s not your fault your majesty. It is my duty to protect you. I have fulfilled that duty. I have one wish. Please, take care of our children”
“I will”
With one last smile, Eri sliced her own throat. She possibly couldn’t allow him to be alone in the underworld. Kohra lay her beside her beloved and closed her eyes.
“Rest in peace, old friend”
Everyone there burst into tears. The nerves, the loss, the sadness, it was all too much. Kohra let herself weep. She lost a lot that day. Lesker, Anak, and Britta stood by the side, making their presence as unrecognized as possible.
“Did she have to die, Anak?” Lesker asked, casting a longing gaze at a crying Kohra.
“Yes. If Sephira lived, Kohra would have never become a deity. You have to give up that which you love the most to get what you desire the most”
“But you said….”
“I know what I said Lesker. However, you’re the deity of knowledge so riddle me this. Do you think Kohra’s soul is enough for the precarious ascension she just went through?”
“No…”
“Then you know why I said that to Sephira. She had to sacrifice her soul to help her sister ascend. Kohra realizes it too. Remember this Lesker, the cosmos always has a way of maintaining its balance, no matter what happens”
“I understand”
