Queen Lyn: Clash Of Kingdoms - Chapter 143
*UNEDITED*
This question would put anybody on the spot. But her husband answered it immediately. “Of course I do! You have no idea how much I love you.”
At that comment her eyes widened and she sighed. He sounds genuine. ‘That’s normal, he means it.’ Lyn closed the distance between them and slumped her head on his chest. Since he is honest with her, she ought to do the same for him.
“I told you already Lyn, trust me.”
“I feel something towards him.”
“Ah.” Kazuya pulled her away. “Did you two..”
“Well, we kissed a lot.”
“Kiss huh?”
Why does he reply like that? He pushed her away, what does that mean? Does that mean he is disgusted and no longer cares? It felt like her mind was playing tricks on her again.
Seconds turned into minutes. After three minutes of silence, Lyn decided to speak up. But Kazuya beat her to it.
“A kiss is a bit hard for me to beat, but I think I can…”
That’s why he was silent? Lyn didn’t realize how bad she felt about the kissing thing. After she shaped out of that dream like trance, Lyn understood what she let him do. Anybody could argue for her, that she never initiated anything. But she still got far too close.
Her thoughts broke off when Kazuya pulled her toward him again. Her head rested on his chest. “Kazuya?”
“Feel bad?”
It was an understatement. Kazuya understood how she felt better than anybody.
“Sorry Lyn, I don’t like it. Even though I was the one who pushed you towards him. The fight we had before you left..”
Lyn quickly interjected. “You planned it.” She laughed when she saw his surprised expression. “Of course I knew.”
“But you still went here.”
Lyn nodded. “I want to settle my heart and my emotions before I run for empress and become cold blooded. But this is unfair on you, I will not blame you if you decide to leave me now.”
This is the punishment she deserves for all the sins and crimes she has committed until now. For all the pain she has caused the people who care for her. Lyn waited for him to stand up and leave but to her surprise Kazuya wrapped his arms around her. Her eyes widened when she realized he was caressing her hair.
“The reason you are like this is because of me neglecting you. All I have to do is get you to love me again. I will remind you why you chose me.”
Remind her? This idiot, she does not need him to remind her. Whenever they meet again after being separated for so long. Lyn remembers it, the reason why she fell in love with this person. Lyn did not reply to him right away, instead she rested her head on his chest for a while. She breathed in his scent, her favourite scent.
“Okay, let go. Rhys is at the door.”
“Damn.” Kazuya cursed.
“Dont be so silly, we are still married.” She moved away from him and strolled over to the door. Indeed the moment she opened the door handle, she saw Rhys.
“Finished?”
“Ah-huh. Did they leave?” Lyn asked. While they walked away earlier, Lyn asked Rhys to make sure they set of.
“Yeah.” Rhys bent down and their lips lightly brushed against one another. “Are you staying here or returning with him?”
“I think he is staying. Before we return to the Mist Kingdom, there are things we need to settle first.”
She needs to discuss with Kazuya what to do with Ayah too. They can’t just leave her here. But, ‘it won’t be easy to bring her with them.’ The moment Ayah steps into the Mist Kingdom, those people will lock her away. It seems she will have to send for Ayah later, and sneak her into the Kingdom. If they leave her here, her comrades would come for her. They would brainwash her again and all her efforts would be for bought.
“You okay?” Rhys asked. He brushed his hands across her forehead. “Your a bit hot. You most-likely have a cold now.”
“Get me some medicine then?” Lyn suggested.
Rhys nodded and lightly kissed her behind her ears. “I’m going to meet Lux in and the guys. I will come back.”
“What about Melissa?”
“Like I said earlier, don’t misunderstand. She is sleeping in her own room.”
“Alright.” Lyn nodded.
After a few more words Rhys quickly left and she returned to the room. Kazuya was looking over with a complicated expression. Lyn rolled her eyes. “Your acting like a child who wants to throw a tantrum.”
Kazuya sat crossed legs with a very childish expression on his face.
“But my wife–”
“Yes, yes I know.”
Kazuya sighed. “Well, I understand it too. Come over here.”
Lyn walked back over and he pulled her onto his lap. “You know Kazuya, since I married Rhys. Does that make you my second husband?”
Kazuya nodded. “Well yeah, in terms of Mist Kingdom Laws, since Rhys ran away I became the King.”
“You mean Rhys is–”
“Mm.”
Is that one of the reasons why Kazuya is never around? Since the throne is not actually his? While there are other reasons this is the main one. This reminds her of her father. He also stayed away from the throne for this reason. Since he is not the first King, her father felt burdened. Does Kazuya share similar feelings?
Lyn shook her head. ‘I can’t ask him something so insensitive.’
“Neither me nor Rhys are suited to be the King.” Kazuya admitted. “But we both love you more than the others.”
The others huh? She has not thought of them in a very long time. Allen, Zepher and Arthur. Other than Allen, she has not heard from the other two in so long. Lyn wonders how Kazuya could say this for sure. Where does this confidence come from? Then again it’s most likely because of her that Kazuya is like this. She was the one who taught him to trust in others.
The belief he has on her is so very strong though.
“My dear.” Lyn mumbled.
“Hmmm?”
“Help me.” She pointed to the stack of paperwork from earlier.
Kazuya beamed and she rolled her eyes. ‘He acts like a kid sometimes.’ But, she loves this side of him.
For the next few minutes nobody spoke. Lyn got off his lap and sat back down on her chair. She would occasionally glance over at Kazuya to see his progress. It didn’t surprise her to see how quickly he was writing. He is better suited to this ruling thing than her. Though he has a laid back and casual personality. Kazuya always had the qualities of a good ruler.
Nobody spoke for awhile, so when he suddenly kissed her. Lyn is a bit surprised.
“Dear?”
“Do you mind?” Kazuya asked. “We haven’t kissed in so long.”
“Why would I mind? …continue.” Lyn wrapped her arms around his neck. “Or should I?”
At that comment Kazuya pulled her down onto the couch. The two of them were never the intimate type. Whenever they wanted to be affectionate, they would hug. However once in awhile, they would get like this. Lyn extended her hand out to caress his cheeks.
‘My Kazuya.’ When was the last time they got so close?
