Queen Of Hearts Is The CEO’s, Mysterious Love. - Chapter 130
After making necessary calls and arrangements early at dawn and checking up on Little Tiger from Butler Wu, exhausted Lu Jianjun returned to Li Na’s ward kept the cell phone aside and laid his back on the sofa, and head to rest for a while.
The past few hours went in treating and discussing her injury, after the second round of checkups Nurse left giving painkillers and medication to Li Na as the girl drifted into slumber.
Knowing of her deep injuries, Lu Jianjun was startled to know Li Na had endured through and not lying in the ICU for the time being or bled to death on the road or in some secluded area. Now he badly wants to know how she ended up in that deadly circumstance? What else happened to her tonight?
Was it sheer luck or fortune that she returned safely? Opening his eyes, Lu Jianjun turned his head as she was there, within the proximity of a hand distance away from him, he glanced at her side feeling calm and relaxed.
In the present hushed atmosphere, and pristine night apart from her deep, shallow breathes nothing could be clamorously heard by him
Strange Woman! Lu Jianjun sighed, recalling the happenings of the entire day, and felt like a fool for even ȧssuming the possibility that this girl could be Li Na.
The docile girl lying on the bed is unquestionably not Li Na. By instinct he knew it, the first instant, he had laid his eyes upon her in the Versailles garden.
Completely soaked, while immersed in herself, she was freely swirling in the rain, the very essence of her presence was like a cluster of a blossoming flower appeared in his courtyard. It sensed like he has been ignorant about it, but suddenly, when it came into his view, its gracious charisma had struck him strenuously that he went still and remain spellbound in its aura in that brief amount of time it felt like he attained the everlasting delight.
Then with an abrupt realization of the uninvited horror suddenly came crushing on him of the thrones it had brought together as instinctively he took a step back to shun her touch sparing himself the venom, but only to reach forward grabbing it and get pricked by thrones. All at once, Lu Jianjun sat up with a jerk turning away from Li Na.
Baffled, by such absurd illusion and emotion attached to it that were still so vividly embedded in his memories as it is becoming impossible to think of it and not feel addicted or bewildered by its’ sheer keeper, the powerful soul in Li Na’s body. She didn’t have an ounce of Li Na’s inferior or vigorous traits, she’s completely distinct yet potent to handle herself and situations. Now he was more certain than before and not hesitant to accept her as anyone but Mei Xing.
With the amount of attention she is gathering from all sorts of people, friends, or foes it won’t be long when everything will get out of control. If this condition of strange Li Na was to be known to others it will be dangerous for all matters specifically for Little Tiger.
“Who are you?” Lu Jianjun murmured in self frustration. She whimpered, the girl stirred a little as her brows knitted slightly just then he turned to look back.
Slowly, Li Na opened her drowsy eyes, and frown looking at the man seated beside her bed. “You said something,” she asked in an allure as if it is more important to answer him for her than taking the required rest to recover fast.
Lu Jianjun took a second before asking in a bewildered tone, “You heard me! You…”
“Yes, I did! You were divulging so intensely, I can even hear your thoughts…” Li Na said with an annoyed look.
Stunned, Lu Jianjun kept on staring at her in horror then she suddenly broke into subdued laughter. “Oh my goodness, look at your face.”
Tired, Lu Jianjun rubbed his face and sank further into his seat grumbling evidently, “You’re a hell of a wretched being!” His expression of frustration and impediment made Li Na even more amusing and contented as she enjoyed his sullen look.
“Seriously, what were you thinking,” she playfully smiled, “…that I am a witch!”
Lu Jianjun threw a thorny side look and said bitingly, ” I was convincing myself not to kill you, once you recovered but you really don’t deserve any sympathy!”
Amused, Li Na burst out aloud. “Lair! Lu Jianjun is a big lair! Didn’t I told you I heard you muttering something…Were you chanting my name,” she chided him provocatively.
“Why are you not asleep?” He asked ignoring the whimsical mirth in her tone.
In an instant, her expressions changed drastically, by mirth eyes turning moist from restraining pain as she answered rectitude, “I can’t sleep. Its’ hurting too much,”
Perplexed, Lu Jianjun couldn’t decide if she is playing another trick of words or actually suffering from tremendous pain, nevertheless, he still chooses to believe her and asked generously, ” Should I call the Doctor or the Nurse outside? Wait! I’ll be back…” he was just about to get up from his seat to press the buŧŧon near the patient’s bedside when Li Na suddenly caught his wrist.
He looked at her and she denied saying with effort, “No need! Too much medication makes it more hurtful to endure the little pain, I don’t want to feel like an addict to anything,”
Hesitant, Lu Jianjun opened his mouth to persuade her. Li Na added, “Just sit with me and help me divert my mind.” he frowned solemnly not feeling good about the idea, but then she was looking at him so expectantly, he couldn’t rudely deny either.
As he sat back, with a long face, anguished, Li Na taunted him pointedly squeezing her eyes shut in pain, “That’s the least I’m asking you to do, and you’re behaving as if I’m forcing you to take medicines on my behalf.”
He retorted annoyingly, “That would be less troublesome then investing my energies in entertaining you,”
“Oh really, my pain is bad enough, not to let me enjoy your silent presence than me demanding you to add your gloomy face or dead humor with it,” she retorted and a shooting pain roused in her abdomen region, hissing as she closed her eyes throwing his hand away which she had caught earlier.
Rattled, Lu Jianjun swung around and paused as he saw her struggling face and almost laugh seeing her dark eyes angrily glaring at him as if he is adding flares to the burning pain.
He suppressed his amusement and annoyance for realizing the fact as much as he tries to handle her she also does the same it just works naturally on him then the efforts he has to take for controlling her.
“Fine! I’m sorry… I forgot about your condition.” he said dejectedly.
Li Na grinned shamelessly, pleased to know the annoyance she felt talking to him is actually not the one-way traffic but shared between them mutually. “You’re forgiven but not to repeat this mistake again,” she said proudly. Lu Jianjun snorted and shook his head, he doesn’t have to do anything she will entertain both of them on his behalf but at his expense, and reflecting on this he couldn’t help but chuckle.
Li Na instantly raised her brows and said, “Shh…I’m not kidding. I’m damn serious…” lying back on the sofa and resting his eyes he just hummed in response to satisfy her. Smilingly turning to him, she too conferred gratitude by her silence.
Silence fell on the room, with closed eyes Lu Jianjun patiently waited for her chattering to start but she too went silent. Whereas he wanted to ask about so many things that transpired and happened to her but he decided to restained from going against her will. For say he knows his inquiry will irritate her. At last, he’ll get to know one way or the other.
Seconds ticked by in waiting for her response, desperate to break the silence Lu Jianjun opened his eyes and fixed them upon her face again. To find that pretty little face gazing at him steadily. Her cheek resting on the mattress as she looked at him in a haze of remembrance. There were no emotions evident on her features but a gloom of sadness lingering around her. The intensity disappeared as she slowly lowered her gaze straying away from his eyes falling on the ground.
“What do you want to talk about?” Lu Jianjun asked silently.
“Nothing!” she replied exhaustedly and sighed, just then her eyes lifted to feel the shadow above her head. “What are you doing?” she asked in a gloom.
Lu Jianjun raised his brows, and replied politely, ” Its’ impossible to predict your mood swings thus I’m checking your temperature if it’s still normal.” Li Na chuckled as he put the back of his fingers gently on her cheek since her forehead was covered with bandages.
” It’s quite normal,” he said almost surprisingly. Blinking as she was compelled to meet his gaze, Li Na grinned thoughtfully as he asked, “Then why are acting depressed?”
“Because you’re so hard to look at, Little Tiger would be much more pleasant to my eyes,” she replied in a heartbeat. Not falling for the trick of annoying him, Lu Jianjun chuckled and whispered, “Lair! You’re the biggest liar.” hearing that Li Na burst out laughing and instantly regretted it as her stomach contracts in agony. Seeing her distorted face, Lu Jianjun shrugged in an ingenuous manner as if saying he didn’t do it intentionally.
Frowning, Li Na almost cried in helplessness, “I’m missing Little Tiger.” she looked towards him, “I want to go home,”, “You want to go home,” they almost said in unison and gazed at each other.
Lu Jianjun nodded informing her, “We will be leaving in an hour.”
Li Na beamed at him, all exhaustion and annoyance disappearing at the thought of seeing Little Tiger again.
Lu Jianjun rose to his feet and walked towards the door, and suggested to her, ” Try to take rest until then, otherwise, you won’t have the energy to entertain him.” Li Na scowls behind his back as he left the ward and she effortlessly went to sleep hoping to wake up when she reached home.
