Queen Of Hearts Is The CEO’s, Mysterious Love. - Chapter 135
“Don’t build your castles in the air. They might come crashing on your empty head one day.” Lu Jianjun retorted bitterly.
she looked at him resentfully, and then with a sourness said, “I’ll gladly wait for that never-coming day, but you still didn’t answer my question! What did you say to Little Tiger?” She questioned agitatedly.
Lu Jianjun turned away, and replied, “Nope, I’m not telling you at any cost.”
“For God’s sake, I’m not asking the details of your bank accounts… What’s wrong with you?” Li Na snapped at him.
“Everything…” Frowning, Lu Jianjun’s gaze lowered to a bunch of flowers and the discrete arena around it at a distance, then his eyes got fixed on a specific sight, exactly at the same spot of their first meeting in the rain then as if in a trance of an illusion he muttered to himself, “Everything is wrong…since you walked into my life.”
Wide-eyed, Li Na stared at him strangely. “What did you say,” she hissed gashing her teeth heatedly.
Lu Jianjun becomes still, visibly thrown by the last sentence, that without his awareness came out of his mouth. “Nothing,” he cut short and turned to face the incensed woman.
He said grimly, “Before all this, you need to explain the whole night’s incident… How do you even end up in that nightclub?” Lu Jianjun asked, knowing very well his inquiry will not go nicely with her.
“You didn’t know…Obviously, through my hallucination! You thought I was kidnapped or something…” she retorted furiously.
He didn’t respond instantly but intently studied the entrancingly pretty face flushed with anger, the captivating trembling lips pressed together and huge chocolate-deep eyes glaring up at him with contempt in their pits with such intensity that can drown any man into the abyss to willingly get lost into them forever.
Lu Jianjun couldn’t help but snicker, her face had turned hot-red with anger and he didn’t know why he found it amusing to see her burn like this. “I never thought I’d ever say this… but you know what, anger enhances your looks and makes you more amusing and helpless for me. So, if you want me to be enraged…try something else,”
Shock but incense by his cupidity, Li Na clenched her fist to see him fancy her powerlessness.
“Suit yourself, I care less for your feelings than I care for the dust beneath my shoes!” She spouted venomously and began to stride away from him before he could retort back.
Lu Jun-hui, who was evidently rushing towards them, abruptly came to a standing halt in her way. Li Na was about to glare at him for doing that but the fool smiled ever so gently towards her that she had to bite her tongue and held back the irked words. And before she could speak, Lu Jun-hui began to talk to his bother ineffectively.
“Brother, Bai Tian has returned.” Lu Jun-hui informed in a low voice and looked in a pleading way at the Lu Jianjun’s suddenly turned grim expression and Lu Jun-hui gulped and waited as if asking for an underlined mercy on Bai Tian’s behalf though Lu Jun-hui doesn’t know what exactly going to happen next. For all he knows, he doesn’t want Bai Tian to be punished or scolded for his negligence of yesterday’s incident With keen discernment, Li Na noted the fear and anxiety in Lu Jun-hui’s face and marveled why is he panicked for Bai Tian?
Li Na shut her eyes briefly, reminding herself not to bother about any man in this house other than her Little Tiger. She’s done with all of them a while ago, so no point in interfering or concerning their matters. Now all she cared about is her safety and the relationship with Little Tiger. ‘Nothing else!’ She repeated inwardly. And when she opened her eyes, something has hardened in expression which gave an adamant vibe of a deadly carefree girl.
Lu Jianjun gave a small nod and he turned to look at Li Na for a moment before he strode away with a semblance of hostility and concern.
Li Na glanced at Lu Jianjun’s back before her eyes shifted to Lu Jun-hui who stood there while biting his nails nervously. Letting out a strained sigh, Li Na patted his back lightly drawing his curious attention.
“Whatever it is? Don’t worry about it,” she ȧssured the frenzied young man. With glittering eyes, Lu Jun-hui appreciated the comforting words and they turned silently as to began their walk back to home leisurely.
“Lu Jun-hui!?” Abruptly, Li Na turned towards him asked curiously, “Would you mind telling me…how do Lu Jianjun found out I was taken to the nightclub?”
He stopped in his track as he remembering he had completely forgotten that he didn’t tell her about Li Cheng. And now he wondered if he should really reveal the whole incident because as far as he knows…Li Na doesn’t have any good or a relationship with any of the Li family members that could considerate decent enough to nurture for her. And as told by Ethan recalling the last encounter of Li Na with Li’s, Lu Jun-hui recalled the rift when Elder Li slapped Li Na. If not for his brother’s interference, he frowns thinking what they might have done to her.
“Lu Jun-hui!? I’m asking you something…” Li Na asked with faithless patience which shattered seeing his reluctance to share the truth. “Forget it! Don’t bother to lie,” she said briefly and start marching.
Appalled to disappoint her like this, Lu Jun-hui rushed after and said hurriedly, “Li Na, Wait! It’s not that I don’t want to tell you…b-but…” she stopped.
The sincere guilt and hope in his voice made Li Na disregard her irritation for a moment. Taking a deep breath, she said indignantly, “It’s okay! You can refuse to answer. Let it go! As I’ve no energy to argue and make a fuss with both of you brother every time, I asked a simple question.” her biting words and frustrating tone made Lu Jun-hui terrified.
Feeling as if his intention were misunderstood by her, Lu Jun-hui attempted to clarify the situation, but as soon as he opens his mouth, Li Na said through his words, “Don’t! I’ve got a lot of work to do so stop wasting my time anymore,” she smiled apathetically towards him and was about to walk out when Lu Jun-hui ȧssented.
“Li Cheng!” he answered promptly. Just for a flash, something ice-cold…terrifying…flashed across her features.
“Who?” she asked impassively sounding detached and indifferent. “Your cousin, Li Cheng,” he answered and continued to narrate Li Na the whole incident of how Li Cheng helped them and kind of indirectly attempted to help Li Na.
A cold fury roared in the depth of her eyes as she bitterly with restraint contempt listened to the endeavors of Li Cheng being a knight in shining armor of yesterday.
“I really hope that your brother won’t start to believe that guy just for a mistake he did in spoiling the plan of his own kind,” Li Na said thoughtfully.
Lu Jun-hui went still with shock for a second, and then he intently asked, “What do mean by spoiling the plan? What kind of plan? What is it Li Na!?”
