Queen Of Hearts Is The CEO’s, Mysterious Love. - Chapter 144
“It was seven years ago, I’ve worked for the Wang family for a long time before their sudden disappearance and I got blacklisted from the entertainment industry. I worked under the Second Young Master, Wang Yunkun. We used to supply drugs to GQ’s celebrity and if demanded provide woman for Syndicate.” Guo Jie said.
“At that time, Wang Jing operated GQ, she was the boss and becoming stronger in her work field…but her brother did illegal business without her knowing, while he was taking advantage of her connections. Wang Yunkun was into the drug business and providing a woman with me. He used to make big deals.” Saying so Guo Jie looked up to the girl and fell short of words to emphasizes the ethos of her work.
Li Na was glaring at her with maliciousness, her eyes sharpening. Guo Jie felt chills run down her spine and she abruptly stopped while speaking. But the girl veiled her tremors shortly.
“Go on…” Li Na urged unpretentiously, the glint in her eyes shrouded while she walked towards the woman on the chair, essentially for two objectives, first to closely examine the torture chair and second for the plausibility of Wang Jing’s magnetism on Li Na for some other reasons apart from being a role model for inspiration what other role Wang Jing had on her. And if Lu Jianjun had taken her here and allowed Guo Jie to speak regardlessly that means he wants her to know about Wang Jing.
She wonders for both negative and positive aspect of this meeting as Guo Jie went on narrating her the past events of her life.
How Guo Jie began to do illegal activities and what role GQ played in those deals under Wang Jing’s nose until and unless one day, seven years ago when a case investigation was exposed by the intelligence agency. Li Na listens to her uninterruptedly but her head snapped toward the strapped woman when she mentioned the involvement of the intelligence agency. There are many agencies across the world and several cases working out, which mostly are of varying aspect of crimes and criminals.
“Which case? What was it exactly about?” Li Na abruptly asked, somewhere she had an inkling but wants to be exact in her ȧssumptions. But if it affects them, then it could be about woman trafficking, and Mei Xing was not involved directly in such cases.
Guo Jie struggled a lot while remembering the matter of investigation as such cases don’t involve little fishes like her when it was the big fishes that were targeted and it was not her subject of work in Underworld but once the ground was hit whole building shudders build on it.
Still, after thinking a lot she did remember a few aspects of it and replied uncertainly, ” I guess it was related to Armed trafficking racket and maybe related to the terrorist attack that had happened. I don’t know exactly the details but…it was some Mr. Blanc from State F who was caught and thinks began to change after that particular case investigation.”
Li Na remained silent for a while as she thought over the first case in which she had been involved. What a surprise! She didn’t know that something she did seven years ago had affected so many lives. Looks like there is another world she didn’t know of, apart from the actual world there is this personal world of individuals and she couldn’t have thought it would be interlinked so deeply to come out like this before her in the future.
“Alright! then tell me what does that had to do with you and me and Wang Jing, obviously, I’m sure we, three were not in any way ȧssociated with an intelligence agency or arms trafficking,” Li Na asked with pure entourage and looked absolutely detached from the topic of investigation. She was here to find out Li Na’s history and not about the consequence Mei Xing had on them as that’s not the priority for now. If she knows the truth of the event she can always sort it out and how it linked with her.
“If I were you… I wouldn’t say that because it does.” Guo Jie said with elapsed resentment. “It was exactly that time period our lives flipped upside down and we happened to meet each other after this.”
Mildly stunned by the accusation, Li Na looked at the woman minutely, gauging her expression if she is bluffing cause as long as she remembers. Guo Jie was blacklisted and abandoned completely as she tried to sell off her twin sister to some widowed gangster then how is it possible Guo Jie had an occasion to meet people from anywhere she was supposed to be detained in prison. Just then Guo Jie spoke plainly, her voice held the grudge for reviving the thought of the hard times she endured.
“We meet in prison of the State F.” Guo Jie revealed and Li Na felt the ground rumbled under her feet.
“Seven years ago?” she questioned.
Seven years ago, Li Na was jailed in State F. Why and What for? How is the possible?
“Not exactly seven, perhaps five years! They detained there me for nearly three years as capital punishment and during which we meet happen to meet one day…from now it was almost five years ago.”
Li Na raised her eyebrows and looked completely misplaced while trying to make sense of it. All she knows about Li Na’s five years ago history was that she was a fifteen-year-old, drug addict girl who was pregnant and depressed. She couldn’t conceive the fact of Li Na going to State F and being jailed for doing something. Whereas, Guo Jie continued to recall the event and spoke without impartiality.
“It was the very next morning we meet…after that deadly massacre of Underworld Gangs under the orders of some of UoT’s new members. They had destroyed nearly whole Underworld in a single night… that was the worst slaughter happened to humans.”
Li Na raised her brows, scoffingly. “You consider yourself as human, how glorious! then… I think the word barbarians contextually must be viewed as innocent rascals in your reference.”
Startled to hear the gibe, Guo Jie appeared smashed as she reflects upon the incident, suddenly her compassion seems immorally prejudiced as this was exactly what horrors they do with other people. And she was pained to experience the pity portion of it was given back to them. Cruelty doesn’t come naturally to everyone but it did was ingrained in all, it’s just not all acts compulsively unless they’re provoked enough, and that’s the payoff they received for years of exploitation of innocents for benefits. Yet, it still does seem unfair to Guo Jie’s wicked mind and heart, the foolish innocence exists merely to get exploited if they didn’t somebody else would have done it.
Li Na snapped her fingers before Guo Jie’s dazed face and the woman jolted back to her senses. She looked up at Li Na’s grim features and the slow burn of tears started to flow as Guo Jie soaked in error and stigma of her crude works and world’s unfair policies.
The “Life isn’t fair at all to us?” Guo Jie mumbled in anguish, her gaze hardened to think of the luxury and comfort some women living with, all their life without bothering to struggle for a penny. And Li Na was one among them, careless yet having plenty of leisure and aid. She doesn’t know the effort of relic hence couldn’t understand the pain and agony she struggles with.
Li Na smirked at the fragility displayed by her, it wasn’t that she isn’t sėnsɨtɨvė but she hated it when offenders complain about the offense. ” What now? You want me to pity you and your life!” she said stonily and laughed to see her change of expression. Once a being is damaged it turns always into a calamity.
Guo Jie sneered infuriatingly and replied, ” Plenty of humans are monstrous and you’re no exception who are you kidding with this innocent act of yours?”
Li Na didn’t resent the shadiness she was pitching at her as she knows herself better than anyone to get bothered, ” Nobody owes a shit to anyone and to be impartial with you, Life is never fair or unfair…don’t limit it in your pettiness, if being good or bad was the only aim of humans than this world would have split into two halves long ago…and life as fundamental necessity would have died. Bringing the balance is all the waking world cares for…no one gives a damn to individual sufferings…not even your loved one. You got that!”
“Seems like you have more experience than me in taking hits,”
“Your imagination can’t even hold a candle in front of the storms I had and have to take…”, “so, shut the fuċk up, and get back to the point, what happened in prison?”
“You were caught therefrom an illegal brothel…and consequently or fortunately you end up in my cell.” Guo Jie simper smugly to witness the color of her face fading into paleness.
“Brothel?” Li Na voiced out m
