Queen Of Hearts Is The CEO’s, Mysterious Love. - Chapter 91
With the dying laugher, Onyx slackened on her chair as she glanced at the young man beside her. Perhaps she was being too overwhelmed lately with the way things are falling into their favor apparently, to laugh freely like this. Everything since Young Master Kai became their ring leader.
Oynx stared at him unwaveringly feeling her heart swelling with emotions of joy whereas her pride trying to contain them. What’s with this change of heart? She wondered, maybe, because Kai never completely ignored her as lower. Sometimes a little compansion shown does wonder in one’s life. For a case, Kai didn’t forget that Onyx also hated Mei Xing and wants her share of revenge as well.
Staring at Kai’s handsome side-profile Onyx drew a deep breath as she doesn’t know why but this bothers her a little when Kai doesn’t spare a look at her unless she has something of his interest to report to him whereas other men died just to be in her presence.
With eyes dazed, Onyx questioned in a low voice which is lacking authority to demand but held the gentleness of request. ” Young Master, What are you looking for in that crowd?” Being meddlesome in Kai’s eyes, she got no response from the man. Oynx peeked to look at Kai’s phone screen. Instantly, the faint line of worries formed on her forehead as she thought about Kai’s growing obsession with Li Na.
Lately, Kai was getting too impatient and engrossed in that little imp to suffer from sleeplessness. Nightmares. Mumbling Li Na’s name in his sleep became quite frequent, his impatience growing like a mad man as if he was never going to see his lover ever before she dies.
Onyx was worried if this continued then he’ll become a serious case of insomnia. Kai was never this insecure about Li Na before and he was mostly focused on his work so what changed suddenly that he’s dying to see Li Na. For this instance, his eyes were glued on the live telecast outside GQ’s main building. Why is he so vexed up? There’s no fashion show going on where Li Na will do a ramp walk or wave at him. He needs to get over their past obsession.
“You saw Li Na in that dream again. Don’t you?” Onyx spoke seriously, knowing well that conversations concerning Li Na are the only way of drawing his attention towards herself.
Sure enough, the man’s focus averted hearing the word ‘Li Na and dream’. His fingers shook slightly as if wanting to strangle Onyx to death for calling his nightmare a dream and again refreshing his baseless thoughts.
A gullible smiled appeared on Onyx’s lips as she whispered. “You really think, Li Na’s not yours anymore.” As if provoked, his head snapped to the sides, his amber eyes had a steak of madness glaring sharply at her. Who dares to say Li Na is not mine?
Onyx shudder as she regrets stating the fact. Even if this what he might be thinking. How could she forget even if what’s said was true or not still a nut crack like him will be taking it as a grave offense… Cause she can’t just bluntly say it on his face?
“Young Master, please think over my words. I was only trying to understand the root cause of your psychic trigger for these nightmares. Having similar sorts of dreams regarding a particular individual isn’t very normal. It might be due to a psychological barrier, or it’s just your subconscious mind hinting your unresolved thoughts, feelings, dėsɨrės…or maybe fears…” Being a hypnotherapist by profession Onyx replied in a serious tone, genuinely, concern for her master’s mental health.
“I love Li Na but Lu Jianjun… Tsk! Why I only see Li Na end up with Lu Jianjun and not Lu Jun-hui? Isn’t Lu Jun-hui her rumored boyfriend?” he asked coldly, as he himself wants to know the reasons behind his blood-boiling dreams. Which man could tolerate having dreams of his lover end up loving another man he hates the most. Kai leaned back on his chair shutting his eyes as he rubbed his forehead.
” It’s all because you were obsessed with Li Na before, and now with Lu Jianjun. And with all the recent happenings, you’re badly mixing up things by overthinking,” she said as her voice held conviction further. “Although, you don’t consider Lu Jun-hui worthy enough to be your love rival yet you can’t ignore the fact of Li Na’s closeness with Lu family. Imagining most unfortunate things as Lu Jianjun has always been a potential threat in your mind, you’re stressing on the worst consequence that could be.”
“I’m not imagining things. It might be intuitions… I know Li Na and her likings better than anyone. She’ll love a heartless man than falling for the one who loves her. ” Kai mumbled, opening his eyes he looked at Onyx and smirked humor rippling in his eyes. ” This does sound like every girl ever…” Onyx understood his later words were pointing at her.
“Young Master, even if you don’t trust your lover then you’re fortunate enough to trust your sworn enemy. Lu Jianjun isn’t the type to fall in love simply,” Oynx tried to ease her master’s mood. ” I wonder Lu Jianjun even remembers what love feels like. An empty man doesn’t need a woman to love, he’s of no advantage for Li Na, but Lu Jun-hui is can be easily taken advantage of, having him wrap around the finger is worth it,” she commented before sharing her experience. “I knew lots of men even dreaming about their therapist in replacing their wife in dreams. And you know what most men dream of…needs.” she grinned intentionally.
Silence fell in the room.
Kai didn’t utter a word, he wasn’t sure if Li Na is using Lu Jun-hui for favors yet he agreed on one opinion that no matter what Lu Jianjun won’t fall for Li Na. Forget about loving Lu Jianjun won’t even take Li Na seriously. If he had taken her seriously then Lu Jianjun would have already fascinated by Li Na when she was almost mirroring Wang Jing. Don’t men like substituting their failed love with something alike and related. As among most of the young aspiring actresses, no one did better than Li Na to won that crap contest.
Just then the cellphone in Kai’s hand buzzed. Casually, he glanced at the number on the screen and the next moment tossed the cellphone toward Onyx to answer before returning to his computer screen.
Peeking at the crucial number, Onyx instantly received the call. In her mannerism, she stood hearing the dominant voice from another end as Kai squinted his eyes at her for doing so intuitively.
“What is he busy with to let you receive my call?” Kai’s father’s deep and heavy voice rang from the other side. Onyx looked over the indifferent man beside her and saw Kai smirking after seeing the tension gathered at her beautiful face. She had no words to reply nor she can lie to the King of Underworld.
Receiving no answer, the old man chuckled discerning the dilemma of the woman on the phone as the old man changed the topic while further questioning about his youngest son, Kai’s welfare and works progress which was obviously important deals for him. While answering Onyx revealed all secrets except for replying regarding Kai’s secluded missions like his visit to China, Mei Xing’s murder and GQ’s blunder Kai created.
After some time, Kai’s father hung up the call commanding Onyx to bring Kai back to State M where their most family lives and gather for banquet, family celebrations, and anniversaries.
After hanging up the call, Onyx turned to Kai and said cautiously, “Young Master, your father’s birthday banquet is in two days. He demanded your presence and gift mandatory. You have to go, he called you personally.” Onyx persuaded Kai further. “Your father is very fond of you, don’t ruin this. You’ll need his support to be the King of Underworld and surpass your half brothers. Don’t waste…” suddenly, Kai snatched his cellphone from her hands.
“I’ll try. Now, Shut up! don’t spoil the fun…” came Kai’s rude reply as he watches the live reporting and bashing comments on GQ’s gunfire incident by his bribed media outlet. If GQ didn’t reveal the incident or try to cover it, his group will expose and slander GQ’s to completely ruin their public image and hinder further big investment projects as later on, it’ll be easier to make GQ go bankrupt.
Back at GQ, a loud commotion was raised outside the GQ’s fabricating as well as inside the building.
Within a few minutes, nearly all the large media house vans and reporters gathered outdoor of GQ with cameras and mics blocking the path hurdling to overtake the glamorous celebrities’ hub. Ambiguous situations like this give that rare opportunity to cunning reporters to influence actors’ responses on gunfire at the same time allowed bashing and throwing questioning for the agency with all sorts of doubtful accusations. It’s a golden chance to degrade GQ for their haters and competitors, thus the rising uproar.
