Quest Maker of Soul Land - Chapter 347: Evil's Worst Nightmare (3)
Setting up a dependent dimension filled with a sea was easy enough for Ja Sun. While it would have been easier for his teammates to train right outside, the commotion would have most definitely attracted unwanted attention. With Ah Yin present in that world, Ja Sun didn’t really worry for them. In fact, three of the aquatic 100000-year-old beasts were in the barrel-like dimensional artifact to spar with Erlong and Xie Xan. At this point, it was almost a pity that Ah Yin, Jun’er, and Lana were pregnant. The Trio enjoyed the ‘vacation’ but just cultivating and resting had started to make them a little restless. After all, they grew up training in many ways, and not being able to spar was finally getting on their nerves, especially, Jun’er’s.
Feng Liu, Ja Yin, Violet, Xiao Wu, and Xiao Bei were sparring there, too. What Ja Sun wanted would put him in conflict with other sea-based spirit masters so it was better for most of them to be prepared…
The ones that stayed outside were the beasts— Zi Ji, Bi Ji, Bing Bing, and Snow.
And the remaining two aquatic beasts, too. One of them was the Elephant Tuna itself. Now Ja Sun admitted… he wanted to eat a 100000-year-old tuna and maybe admittance of that fact itself made the beast keep his, well, extraordinarily large distance from the Beast God alongside the Flood Dragon Beast.
“Now that I think about it, do you taste like a snow cone?” He turns to Snow and questions curiously only for her to shake her head. She is still learning her way around their Beast God. Most of all, she wanted to learn the barest secret to his strength, like many others correctly assumed. It’s not even a matter of being selfish but what is the most natural thing to do in her situation.
So, clearing her throat, she hums and speaks ‘truthfully’, “What are… snow cones?”
Ja Sun stares at her with absolute shock but it is someone else who got offended!
“Sister Snow!” Bing gasps, “You don’t know about Snow Cones! It’s second only to popsicles! The crushed snow melts into the mouth alongside the intended syrup spread over it and brings a heavenly—” she quickly stops and finds everyone looking at her. Flushing lightly, Bing Bing averts her gaze over to the ocean and mumbles, “Whatever… just saying that Snow Cones are great…”
“No, you’re right, they are great. Every passing kid likes them,” Ja Sun snickers, his words only making Bing Bing grit her teeth and she scowls, “I’ll have you know, my human form is this way ONLY because this more petite form is the best in combat! And the tinier and more colorful a scorpion is, the more poisonous it is!”
Ja Sun hums, “Sure, think that way. Who can stop you.”
The answer was barely satisfactory and Bing Bing’s glare only sharpened.
Part of her was more frustrated about why her usually uncaring Sister Snow was trying so HARD here. Well, Snow didn’t even usually speak too much, so, yes, acting somewhat docile and demure was trying too hard in Bing Bing’s gaze!
“I’ll not let you have your way with Sister Snow!” She finally blurts out in anger, making Snow and Bi Ji thin their lips while Zi Ji was trying to hold back her laughter—
“Hahahaha!”
— Correction. She laughed.
Their conflict attracted the two Spirit Beast’s attention but not paying them any heed and matching his gaze with Bing Bing’s honey pupils, Ja Sun chuckles, “Snow? She’s attractive and all and may REALLY taste like a snow cone… but I was hoping to eventually have my way with you.”
Bing Bing’s eyes widen and she falls into a rightful stupor.
“Wha—”
“Oh, I just wanted to be clear,” Ja Sun shrugs, “Can’t make any progress if you keep on thinking I want to stick it to Snow. I want to stick it in BOTH of you. Just to see if you guys feel cold, warm… icy, maybe?”
By now other beasts were slackjawed by the Beast God’s rather honest confession. But then again, Ja Sun was at a point he did not need to promote cheap lies. After all, standards of beauty differed for the beasts. For instance, Zi Ji is infatuated with strength rather than appearance. Bi Ji by competence. Snow and Bing Bing were on a similar side, too.
“Y-you can only dream!” Bing Bing hisses, “There is no way I’d ever let you near me!” But the fact that he wished to be with her more than Snow… well, Bing Bing didn’t know what she felt. Her ‘loyal’ side was outraged. Snow is everything she isn’t… but her prideful, somewhat narcissistic side is… touched.
Someone strong… terrifyingly so, wants of her…
When Bing Bing comes to be, she realizes that none of them are even looking at her. Instead, they kept on leaning against the railing of the yacht and viewed the setting sun over the horizon.
Blushing, Bing Bing just huddles a little closer to Snow to hide herself from his gaze… her honey pupils glaze slightly as she feels Snow’s stare over her which only makes her blush and feel somewhat guilty…
—
As the sun set, a pair of pure red eyes open up wide in an underwater cave. Slowly, a being covered by greyish mist slowly prowls out and then swims up to the surface, leaving a trail of similar mist that disperses into the water and forms patches of grey tadpoles that would scurry away at a moment’s notice. The cave that emerged from itself was filled with various dark creatures constantly feasting on one another.
It slowly reaches the surface of the ocean and begins to walk over it. Longer than an ordinary 10000-year-old beast, the figure in the shroud of shadowy mist happens to be almost 40 meters in length but only its pure red eyes seem to flicker from the guise of the darkness.
It has been days since he hunted but it did not recall a ship anchored near one of the territories of his game. And it interested him.
Slow and stealthy he may be, he’s sure that his presence will be noted. After all, the strange but somehow streamlined boat made out of a material different from wood had various sources of light glowing from within.
Just as he was about to reach the stern of the ship, a rather joyous snicker alerted him and set its fur erect in goosebumps!
“It’s been so long since we last met!” The voice held an almost dangerous charm that made his heart shudder, “Say, do you remember me?”
His vision shifted and he now stood in a… dessert?
The sky is still dark. Even more beautiful than before. But the sensation of gentle tides no longer grazed his paws and he certainly feels exposed. His glimmering red eyes stare at the group while feeling the ‘tiny’ dimension around him.
He could feel everything, of course. He could feel that his opponent, like him, is a master of a variety of concepts and elements. He could feel that the other four beasts around this man are strong but not strong enough to defeat him. He feels that one of these beasts, the human drake has a connection with darkness and devouring attributed, consuming which will grant him immense strength.
Of course, he is also aware of the threat of the youth that stood in the center of this entourage.
With the mist around him displace, the beast was exposed for all to see.
A large, dark-grey tiger with pitch-black stripes and a pair of feathery wings folded back. Its tail was not furry but instead covered by a layer of exoskeleton that extended to a cruel and vicious hook like a scorpion’s stinger. A mark of the word ‘king’ could be observed on his forehead, right above his callous red eyes.
A 100000-year-old Dark Devilgod Tiger.
Ja Sun instantly sensed the number of concepts and elements brewing within the beast, of which, devouring and time surprised him the most. Devouring is an ability held only by Zi Ji among his ‘troops’ and while Ja Sun had some sense of the concept of time after absorbing the spirit soul of the Evil Eye Tyrant, his mastery over it fell short from what he could sense from this tiger…
Like him, the tiger had grown— at an equally unimaginable pace.
Last but not least, its evil attribute was a mix of its ability to devour. To be precise, this beast’s ‘Devouring’ skill was an evil attribute itself, similar to Bibi Dong’s ability to devour soul origin. The essential difference, from what Ja Sun could perceive was WHAT the two abilities could devour.
This tiger’s ability… surpassed Bibi Dong’s and Zi Ji’s in that regard.
It wasn’t hard for Ja Sun to see through the beast’s strength. In raw terms, this beast could contend with the Evil Eye Tyrant and if he goes all out, it could contend with Di Tian ONLY while being a 100000-year-old beast. It was already proven with how the five beasts above normally couldn’t hold the beast from escaping. Then again… Ja Sun had a sneaking suspicion that this beast did not go all out against the five aquatic beasts.
“Who are you?” The Tiger’s jaws tremble slightly and a rough grunt echoes from its throat.
“Don’t you remember me?” Ja Sun pouts as he turns over his right palm to reveal the back of his hand— an image of pitch-black eyes painted over his velvety dark-silver fur, “It’s me! We had such a great time screwing Xunji over. You know? Ye high, blonde hair. You carved the right side of his face? Angel martial soul?”
As Ja Sun keeps on speaking without care about how much tension begins to leak from the tiger to the point even Snow and Zi Ji lock their brows in alertness and Bing Bing grows feral with every passing second, the tiger finally growls, “You… are that child I failed to devour. The one with the ability to summon evil creatures.”
“Only the first ability of martial soul,” Ja Sun shrugs, “I’m kind of annoyed how the spirit ring abilities of the martial soul will be entirely the same. But yeah, you guessed it right,” he then smiles, “And I couldn’t sense it back then but… you really are one of a kind, huh? Then again, almost all beasts with evil attributes are one of a kind.”
“This ambush of yours will not succeed… I can sense that while this space is different, it is not guarded. Anyone can leave.”
Ja Sun nods. After all, he felt the spatial element in the beast among many other things in it.
“You got that right. Go on, try leaving this place.”
The beast remains still and observed the seven of them present. Escaping could be a harder task but… he did not want to escape. He could sense so many different abilities… different laws. Devouring any of them would make him… stronger than before by a large margin!
