Quick Transmigration: Homewrecker System! - Chapter 994: Chapter 3
“How about you, Bai Yunyu. What are you doing here?”
“Ah, I’m just—resting after a difficult test,” Yunyu lied.
Zhao Yun grinned, “Well, I think you’re lying. If the test is that difficult, you won’t be the first to finish the test. Every candidate is still in that room, you know?”
Yunyu gulped.
Though this man was probably not the same Han Ye Gege he knew, he was still scared of him.
Yunyu was scared this man was just using his charm to start hooking him in, making him vulnerable. When Yunyu started being comfortable with him as a friend, he’d reveal himself as Han Ye Gege and bring him back to their realm.
Yunyu swallowed his saliva hard, and then got up, “I—I have to go.”
“Oh, okay then,” Zhao Yun nodded. “Take care, Bai Yunyu. Hope I can see you again around campus!”
Yunyu didn’t answer. He just stared at the man for a few seconds before turning back and rushing to leave the garden. There was this uneasy feeling in his heart.
He was unsure how to handle that man because his heart was actually beating faster when he was around him.
His heart and instinct told him that man was definitely Han Ye Gege, but his head told him he was just being paranoid.
“I hope I won’t meet that guy again after this. I don’t know how to handle it myself.”

Bai Yunyu walked around the city where he used to live. It felt so nostalgic since he spent hundreds of years during the transmigration with Pupa, so he had forgotten some of the details in the city.
As he strode into the city center, he saw a fairly empty coffee shop with a sign ‘Hiring for Part-Timer’ in the front. So he entered and walked straight to the owner, who was busy putting cakes on display near the cashier.
The owner noticed Yunyu and quickly greeted, “Hi, what can I do for you?”
“Um…” Yunyu was a bit hesitant. “I—I saw the sign in the front. It says that you’re hiring a part timer.”
“Oh! Yes, I do need a part timer, this place is a small branch, I have to watch over the main coffee shop. So I can’t be here everyday,” The owner eyed Yunyu from head to toe and then nodded, “Do you have any experience as a barista?”
Yunyu nodded.
He had all the knowledge and skill in life. He could actually become anything in this world. He could be the next billionaire or even the first man to create perfect AI.
But he wanted a simple life. He wanted a life where he could work normally, sleep normally, study normally, and do everything normal and simple.
“Good! Let me see how you make a drink first, come here and make me a cappuccino.”
It wasn’t a long process until Yunyu was hired as a part-time barista in that place. The salary was small, but it should be enough to cover his food expenses every month since he didn’t need to pay the rent. He just had to pay for electricity and water bills.
Though his life wasn’t all that glamorous, he was happy that he didn’t need to worry about a thing anymore.
It was just him and Pupa… well, Pupa might take a while to come to him.
But he knew that Pupa was still alive. It was probably still trying to reroute to stop Han Ye and Yuzhong from entering this world.
Yunyu had to wait at least two weeks until the result of his test came out. So he just busied himself becoming a part-time barista in this coffee shop called ‘The Beginning.’
He thought things would go well. He spent his days in the coffee shop, getting free lunch from the boss. Though it was mostly just yesterday’s sandwich that nobody bought, it was still fresh and healthy enough for Yunyu.
He hummed as he cleaned the table when he heard the bell ringing on top of the door.
Clink! Clink!
“Oh, welcome—” Yunyu turned his body and froze when he saw the man standing before him.
The man smiled, showing his deep dimples as he greeted Yunyu, “Didn’t know that you work here. It’s nice to see you again, Bai Yunyu.”
Bai Yunyu’s heart dropped. He took a step back, “H—How did you get in here?”
“Huh?” Zhao Yun looked confused. “I just stumbled upon this new coffee shop, so I thought I should give it a try.”
Zhao Yun took a step forward and leaned until he was at the same eye level as Yunyu, and then asked, “You look really pale, are you sure you’re okay?”
Yunyu swiftly took two steps back to avoid him, “I—I’m fine. Let me return to the bar area so you can order.”
He returned to the bar area, followed by Zhao Yun, who checked on the menu and then gave out his order.
Yunyu started making the order, but he felt that Zhao Yun kept eyeing him from the side, watching every movement. He tried to catch him red-handed to embarrass Zhao Yun for being a creep.
But each time Yunyu checked on Zhao Yun, the latter just smiled at him as if he didn’t find anything wrong watching a man making a hazelnut latte without blinking.
Yunyu put the hazelnut latte and two slices of cheesecake on the counter and said, “This is your order.”
“Thanks,” Zhao Yun said. He looked at two slices of cheesecake, and acted surprised, “Oh, I didn’t know the cheesecake slice was so generous. I don’t think I can eat two. Can you accompany me to eat one?”
“I—I don’t have time to eat. I still have to serve other customers….” Yunyu tried to refuse. Though he loved cheesecake, he was scared that he might start becoming closer to this man, and things might escalate after that.
Zhao Yun looked around the empty coffee shop and shrugged, “Looks like I’m your only customer for now. Why don’t you sit with me and take a rest? There’s no harm in that.”
