Quick Transmigration: Sorry, I Never Loved You - Chapter 201
Xu Jiaqi saying those things to her face, especially when her volume was rather loud, make Zhao Xinran want to strangle the unpleasant girl and shut her up for good. So good that she would not be able to bother her ever again, because she would already be in her afterlife.
Shockingly, in Zhao Xinran’s mind, there was not a shred of guilt that she possessed. Perhaps there were a few qualms at first, but as of right now.. Her mind was completely on board with the thought of justifying her every action, to the point where she actually made Xu Jiaqi out to be a villain for trying to ruin her life now out of all times.
It was clearly a lunatic’s way of thinking, and there was no correcting such vile demeanors.
Zhao Xinran’s heartbeat quickened up, racing like she was riding a rollercoaster. She saw Xu Jiaqi as an evil being who was threatening her because the other was jealous.
Zhao Xinran gritted her teeth as she clenched her fists, restraining herself from hitting the lady in front of her back. However, there was a crucial part in the act that she struggled so hard to put up over this whole time.. A weak and gentle lady who wouldn’t raise a hand against a fly.
Her eyes reddened, and her breath stifled as she ‘grabbed’ Xu Jiaqi’s arms, making a pleading face. “Qiqi, this isn’t you. I know you, why are you doing this to me? We used to be so good to each other..”
Her nails dug into Xu Jiaqi’s arms, trying to make the other suffer without ruining her own image. Xu Jiaqi whistled, obviously taking in all the pain.
And yet, right at that very moment, as she was preparing to take the matters into further hands, another man popped up and grabbed her arm harshly. She was pulled off Zhao Xinran and thrown aside like a ragged doll.
“Xu. Jia. Qi! Didn’t you promise that you will never mingle with us again? What, did you manage to splurge all the money that the Zhao family gave to you based on respect for your dead family? Are you still going to be a nuisance even after all that happened?! Don’t think I don’t know anything! I know how you tried to extort the Zhao family, I know how you acted towards Uncle, Auntie, and even Xinran, who acted the kindest to you!”
The speaker was of course, Song Ziyi. He pulled Zhao Xinran behind him as if he was protecting her. Slithering her arm around the woman’s back, what a selective gentleman.
“..Ha. You finally arrived. You’re also just as trash as Zhao Xinran.” Xu Jiaqi walked up to Song Ziyi calmly and made the man flinch slightly, wondering what she was going to do.
“W-what are you trying to-”
Pa!
Another crisp slap sound was made. This time, the recipient of the well deserved slap to the face was Song Ziyi. The bastard couple, both of them now had one red cheek each. How cute, they were matching!
What a perfect day to be in.
Song Ziyi looked at Xu Jiaqi in disbelief. Ever since he was little, who would dare wrong him? His family was so good, he was given everything that he wanted, and he knew no bounds when it came to his wishes.
Being disgraced like this in public, how could he stand it?
“I remember that you guys called me crazy before. You’re not wrong. Actually not wrong at all. It’s actually a good thing that I’ve gone crazy, did you know? I’m so fucking happy that I’m crazy.. If I killed both of you, do you think that my mental illness will come to my defense? The one you bitches purposely tried to worsen using all those shady means?” Xu Jiaqi shoved her face up close to Zhao Xinran and held her in place.
She spat onto the other’s face, taking advantage of her original scenario to act as maniacal as possible.
“I’m no longer the Xu Jiaqi you know.” Her voice was like an angel’s whisper as she softly said, just enough for Zhao Xinran to hear.
_______
From a near distance, Tang Yizhou was coincidentally passing by. This was the fated day that he decided to take a stroll out of his own accord and not because he had to do something. It had been a long time since he tried to enjoy life in itself, because of how harsh the symptoms were and how hard it was for him to continue ignoring it.
However, because of the particular encounter that happened yesterday, his mind ended up feeling more refreshed than ever, and his mood improved to a point where he actually held a short conversation with his younger brother, Tang Yixiu.
The child had his own burdens, but he, as an older brother who was basically the younger’s parental figure actually disappointed him by distancing himself. It made the entire situation worse, even though he fully knew that the child just wanted to help him.
He just couldn’t do it. Talking and interacting with anybody else. What was this set of ailments that took him by storm, making him unable to perform like a normal human being?
The one who had the answer to his question was not surprisingly..
The one who now had a mountain of worries compiled inside his head.
System: The cockroach has returned! I repeat, the cockroach has returned!
It was just a few hours ago that Xu Jiaqi mentioned a casual task for him to do. She instructed him to try and investigate this ‘Butters’ person and his older brother at the same time, if possible. She was just trying to see if these two would be a viable partner for her to adopt and lead to become her comrade in the near future.
However, the result that the System found turned out to be things that he would never ever tell the Host unless she was ready.
It was a repeat of their former worlds.. The man was once again, here to greet them. Somehow, he had even found a way to encounter her this early into their transmigration!
The System cursed Tang Yixiu a thousand times over and over, then he moved to cursing the world for making the two reunite in the first place, and then.. He was supposed to curse Tang Yizhou, but he didn’t.
..He was afraid of cursing that being, alright??! You can’t fault him! He wanted to curse, wanted to curse so badly, but what if the being learned of him and tracked him down? He would be disposed in an instant!
Luckily, transmigrating into their worlds without a System like him was just like before, very taxing and painful on the soul. That being would never ever be conscious unless he came in contact with sources of divinity like he did in the second world.
Zenith Ahgren was arguably the culprit that did the most damage to Xu Jiaqi. His Host was swept into a typhoon of dreams, trips down the memory lane that had long been sealed away under foreign powers.
The System was confused once again.
Because this time, the Creator himself had interfered in the matter, right? He created a seal for Xu Jiaqi, and told him that the being shouldn’t chase them into this world. That it would give time for them to process the wrongdoings and actually liberate his Host before everything was ready.
Then, why was the being here again??! In form of Tang Yizhou, this sick president?!
After closer investigation, the System learned that this President suddenly contracted a mysterious sickness, and the time was roughly a bit before their arrival into this world.
If that was taken into account.. Then it was likely that the being already knew that the System processed things for him even before the seals were even implement. The only plausible way that all of this could happen is if he knew ahead of time where Xu Jiaqi’s world would land at, and came here to escape the seal’s impenetrable defense.
By doing so, his vassal couldn’t even take the full brunt of the punishment and had to suffer from it.
…The System wanted to gloat, but he couldn’t!
How should he report back to the Host?
The System ended up working on sorting the information carefully with a heavy heart.
He knew that all of them were in the wrong in one way or another. He knew that this wasn’t the most efficient process ever, and that the very cause of the madness was the separation between the fated souls to begin with.
But in order to solve the separation, they had to separate them even further.
Did it make sense? No. But no one, not even the Creator, held the ‘medicine’ to this toxic relation.
It would’ve been so much better if they just broke it off at once.
It would’ve been fine.
An esteemed Goddess of the First Rank, and the Constellation of Fate.
