Quick Transmigration: Sorry, I Never Loved You - Chapter 225
Before the shot connected, she moved to the side ever so slightly, making the bullet narrowly missing her vital organs but still leaving an extremely dangerous wound on herself.
She smiled beautifully, exuding elegance as she fell onto the floor motionless. Leaving Zhao XInran, who didn’t think that she would actually be the one to shoot Xu Jiaqi and dirty her hands by herself shocked beyond words.
“W-what..? Did she die? No way..” Zhao Xinran’s hands trembled as she tried to find solace within herself after the fear of shooting another human being and possibly killing her bloomed in her heart.
“What did you say?!” In mere seconds after she said that, the door to the building was knocked down and revealed the anxious figure of Tang Yizhou, who felt like his heart was being ripped apart after he overheard her words.
HIs gaze fell upon the unconscious Xu Jiaqi, who had blood seep out of her chest in a worrying amount. His mind was driven to think of the worst situation possible.
Zhao Xinran stood still in shock as she was still trying to process the events that occurred, and how on Earth this outsider came here. However, her instincts immediately acted up and she raised her hand once again to aim at the man rushing towards Xu Jiaqi at full speed. She knew that she was in big trouble, and with the large amount of people who came to interrupt on her, there was no way she was going to survive this ordeal without being prosecuted.
If so, then she needed to bring down as many people as possible with her.
A crazy logic, yes. It made sense in the woman’s head, and that was all that mattered.
However, Tang Yizhou was not someone who had slow reflexes. Rather, his innate reflexes could be compared to that of an athlete. Sensing the woman’s intentions, he quickly dodged and knocked the gun out of the way from the sides before pushing her down for good.
Zhao Xinran cried out in pain, but she still struggled to get up and take the gun once more, wanting to fight for her chances. The gun was kicked by Tang Yizhou to a far distance before she could even reach it.
“Capture that woman right now! Don’t let her go until I say so!” Tang Yizhou shouted, not willing to deal with the woman any longer and focused on Xu Jiaqi knowing that his men would be enough to take care of this crazy woman.
“Qiqi, Qiqi! It’s going to be alright..” Tang Yizhou didn’t want to shake her body since it might worsen the injuries. He had prepared for the worst after her disappearance, so he came prepared as soon as he located this place.
There was an array of trained bodyguards and paramedics who immediately swarmed into the building, immobilized Zhao Xinran, and began to check up on Xu Jiaqi.
The medics acted quick, knowing that this woman was not a casual acquaintance of the person that employed them with a sky high pay.
They looked at her wound and saw that it wasn’t perfectly on her vitals, and saw a chance of survival even though the bullet was so deep into the woman’s body.
“We must act quick, Mr. Xu. Please excuse us as we take her to a better location.” The medics carefully placed her on a body stroller and rushed her to the car, taking off to the nearest medical institution right away.
______
With haste, precise skills, and a lot of intimidation from Tang Yizhou, Xu Jiaqi’s condition was stabilized by the best surgeon that they could find in such a short period of time.
The bullet was removed, and the wound was treated properly. Along the entire process, one could only imagine how hellish it felt for Tang Yizhou, watching her stay unconscious even after three days had passed.
She was put on all sort of relevant treatments, but not of that allowed her to wake up, making him anxious and terrified for life.
They had just gotten engaged. They had just brought up the topic of marriage. There was supposed to be a long and unending path of happiness in front of them.
So, what was this?
Why did fate decide to take her away in such a bullshit manner?
____
With each additional day of Xu Jiaqi not waking up, it was equivalent to his heart being ripped apart. The only consolation that he could rely on was that since the doctors claimed that Xu Jiaqi’s condition was fully stable, and the wound was healing, the only thing that prevented her from waking up is herself.
There were many theories that the doctors presented him with, but thorough diagnosis did prove that the problem laid on Xu Jiaqi’s consciousness and her will, no longer her body.
Since the devastating incident, a month had passed. During this period of time, the news feed was once again filled with Xu Jiaqi’s name and her long awaited case, along with rumors surrounding Tang Yizhou and his obvious preferrential treatment towards Xu Jiaqi.
Tang Yizhou himself was one of the most desirable bachelors in the country, being a handsome, rich young man whose only drawback was his addiction to work.
What relations he had with the unconscious streamer was unclear. The only thing that people knew was that this man protected Xu Jiaqi extremely well, to the point of moving Xu Jiaqi to a discreet institution so that external people won’t be able to selfishly enter.
However, no matter how long he protected the frozen flower, the precious being just wouldn’t thaw out.
_______
“Qiqi, how was your day? I know that you like sleeping very much. You flooded our bed with new pillows and blankets, making a burrow for you to hide under. You made our home so comfortable.. Are you comfortable there too? In wherever you are right now.. Perhaps in a dream land that I won’t be able to enter. I hope you’re happy now. I want you to come back.. Going back to our home and seeing it so desolate pierces my heart and causes unimaginable pain. I haven’t gone there at all ever since you collapsed. How could I?”
“I miss you so much. I love you, baby,”
_______
“I finally got another chance to visit. Qiqi, you’ve left me for so long. It’s been months.. I met your online acquaintance, Feng Qin. Come to think of it, back in the day, I’ve talked to him in the chat for quite a bit. Today, he came to visit you after I gave him permission. I was a bit hesitant at first, but that fella is quite nice.”
“He told me that he would come to visit his Goddess often. Who does he think he is? I’m clearly right here and he dared to say those things. How crazy,”
“Right now, I still miss you a lot. I think of you every hour, every minute, every second. You’re in my head, never to disappear. It feels like torture..”
Tang Yizhou stroked the sleeping woman’s face, restraining his tears and emotions as he sighed.
_______
“Qiqi, did you know? Today, I had to attend Yixiu’s graduation alone. After you knocked some sense into my mind.. I tried to converse with the boy. As you’ve said, he finally broke down and hugged me.. He was in tears, crying out the contents of his heart. We made up, resolved every misunderstanding we made, and we are now the best sibling duo you will ever see.. Once you wake up.”
“Qiqi, when will you wake up? Yixiu likes you very much as well, he addresses you as ‘sister’ openly now. He visits a lot, and mentions your matter from time to time as well. It’s good to see that he’s like that.”
“He’s a good seed. Talented and hardworking, possessing a good character. I assisted him as much as possible, and now he is going to be on his way to go abroad for higher education. He told me not to worry about him, but I’m still anxious..”
“But what makes me the most troubled is whenever I think about you not returning to my side. Not being in my embrace.”
_______
“..The doctors told me that our efforts are futile, that you will never wake up. They can’t even determine what is causing you to be asleep for this long. Those bastards even tried to suggest pulling you off of life support. Truly a bunch of brainless folks.”
“I believe that you will come back to my side. Don’t worry, Qiqi. Even though others might doubt you, I won’t. Yixiu supports my cause as well.. He believed and respected my decisions. He’s been studying over there for some months, and he’s doing well. We’ve been in close contact as well.. If you can hear our voices even as you’re sleeping peacefully, then you should be aware of out video calls.”
“I hope you’re still going strong over there. As for me… I’m not doing too well, but I’m managing.”
