Quick Transmigration The Prodigal Son - Chapter 16
The Eldest Young Master’s Gentle Wife (16)
Shui Gen brought over the pen and paper. Jiang Zhe received it, and started writing the contract without hesitation.
Ten minutes later, two identical sets of the contract was created. Jiang Zhe told Shui Gen: “Take this set to Concubine Shu.”
Shui Gen bent over to receive it: “Yes, Eldest Young Master.”
Shui Gen passed the treaty to Concubine Shu without goodwill, then rushed back to Jiang Zhe.
Concubine Shu looked at the contents on the paper, absentminded. She didn’t recognise many words, but those that she did were very sensitive.
She did not believe that Jiang Zhe would be so kind, and grabbed her son to check.
Concubine Shu: “Chen’er, take a look. Check if Jiang Zhe is cheating me.”
Jiang Chen face was red, shy.
Jiang Chen: “Concubine Mother.”
Concubine Shu’s tone was sharp: “I asked you to check.”
Jiang Chen, Jiang Yu trembled simultaneously. Jiang Chen didn’t dare to refute any longer, and honestly took a look at the treaty.
After a long while, he stammered: “No, no problem.”
Jiang Zhe paused in the middle of taking his teacup, then naturally took a sip while hiding the sarcasm playing at the edge of his lips.
Concubine Shu was happily surprised, instructing her personal maidservant: “Quickly, get me a pen. When I sign my name, this family’s assets will belong to me and Chen’er.”
Jiang Zhe put down the teacup, faintly said: “Hold it.”
Concubine Shu was vigilant, “Why, you regret it?”
Jiang Zhe shook his head.
Jiang Zhe: “I just feel that since our Jiang family no longer owe you anything, it is better to draw a clear line in the future.”
Concubine Shu: “What do you mean?”
Jiang Zhe: “It’s very simple. You will report clearly to the newspapers your relationship with my dad. As for Jiang Chen, Jiang Yu, if they still have my dad in their hearts, I won’t stop them from visiting occasionally. If they don’t want to visit, I won’t force them either. Either way, there’s still me, this son, to be filial.”
Concubine Shu’s face twisted for a moment, “You want me to report to the newspapers my divorce with Jiang Zheng Hua.”
Jiang Zhe shook his head again: “Concubine Shu thinks too much. You are just a concubine, how can it be appropriate to let my dad report to the newspaper his divorce with you. Not saying you were abandoned, is already giving you a lot of face.”
Concubine Shu: “You…”
Jiang Chen hurriedly stopped Concubine Shu and turned to Jiang Zhe, saying: “Why must Big Brother be so harsh in his words, be so heartless? No matter what, we are one family.”
Jiang Zhe’s face didn’t change; he didn’t even bat an eyelash. Li Cai Wei, however, looked at Jiang Chen in surprise.
The main hall was speechless for a moment. Jiang Chen’s red face became even redder at this moment.
After a long time.
Jiang Zhe: “Sign it. Things should be resolved the earlier the better.”
Concubine Shu snorted, but ultimately didn’t do any more useless actions.
However, hatred erupted in her heart. Wait for it, wait for her to get the majority of the Jiang family’s assets, and see how she deals with Jiang Zhe.
Eldest Young Master, who was always so lofty, will sooner or later bow down and wag his tail to her.
As long as she thinks of that day, Concubine Shu’s anger dissipated, her whole person’s mood extremely good.
Jiang Zhe’s movements were very fast. On the same day, the two sides signed the contract, sent people to find reporters, and then distributed the monthly salary of the servants. Those that were willing to follow Concubine Shu remained, and those who weren’t willing left. Jiang Zhe did not want fixed assets, and converted them all into silver coins before bringing his parents and wife away from the Jiang estate.
Out of Jiang Zhe’s expectation, Shui Gen chose to follow him.
Using Shui Gen’s words, he was eating well and his family had no worries, hope that Eldest Young Master can accept him.
Jiang Zhe had his own calculations in his heart, and was not very worried about the money. So when Shui Gen wanted to follow him, he didn’t chase him away.
The matter of separation had not yet spread widely, and his status as the Jiang family’s Eldest Young Master could still be used.
Jiang Zhe paid enough money, moving into a new home that very same night.
The new home consisted of just one courtyard, completely incomparable to the original Jiang estate.
However, Father Jiang and Mother Jiang felt a long-lost sense of comfort. The two joined hands and looked at the courtyard that wasn’t very wide. They only felt that they had returned to the past.
Father Jiang’s heart was full of emotions. He patted his son’s shoulder and praised him: “This father cannot compare to you.”
Jiang Zhe: “Dad is being modest. I only hope that dad doesn’t blame me for losing half your lifetime’s worth of hard work in just one day. ”
Father Jiang pretended to hit him, “You are a stinky boy, daring to ridicule your old man.”
Mother Jiang immediately stopped him: “Zhe’er is such a good boy, you still beat him.”
Father Jiang said: “We are just playing around.”
Jiang Zhe:” Dad is right. ”
Jiang Zhe: “The sky isn’t bright anymore. As respected elders, dad and mom can stay in the eastern room, while Cai Wei and I will stay in the western room. The remaining rooms, Shui Gen can choose where to stay.”
Shui Gen immediately expressed his loyalty. “I have followed the Eldest Young Master from a young age. Of course, where the Eldest Young Master lives, I will also live there.”
Jiang Zhe smiled: “Alright, let’s clean up first. I will go out and add some necessities tomorrow”
Others: “Alright.”
Dinner was cooked by Li Cai Wei. Though it was just unrefined tea and bland rice, sitting together as a family, without any shady strange people hurting the eyes, they ate very comfortably.
At the dinner table, Father Jiang occasionally helped Mother Jiang refill her bowl, saying: “I remember that you used to like this.”
Mother Jiang smiled widely from ear to ear. The atmosphere between the two was sweet and harmonious.
Li Cai Wei secretly peeked at it from time to time, obvious envy in her eyes.
Jiang Zhe: “Eat.”
Li Cai Wei looked at the scrambled eggs in the bowl, bent his mouth, the corners of her mouth pulling up, lowered her head and stopped looking around wildly, eating seriously.
After the meal, Shui Gen cleaned up.
Jiang Zhe helped to start the fire, and Shui Gen’s eyes almost popped out.
Shui Gen: “Eldest Young Master, you, you don’t have to do this.”
Jiang Zhe: “It’s nothing. It’s faster with two people working.”
Jiang Zhe: “Also, don’t call me Eldest Young Master in the future. I am older than you by a few years, you can just call me Big Brother.”
Shui Gen: “Eldest Young Master, this isn’t”
Jiang Zhe didn’t even lift his head, adding more firewood into the fireplace, saying selfishly: “From the time you left the Jiang estate with me, I already had these thoughts. Or do you feel that there’s no potential in following a big brother like me, and don’t want to?”
Shui Gen: “No, no, no. To be brothers with Eldest Young Master is Shui Gen’s blessing, I couldn’t be happier, how could I not want to.”
Jiang Zhe: “En. Remember to change the way you speak in the future.”
Shui Gen: “Yes, Eldest Young… Big Brother.”
Jiang Zhe’s brow slightly curved, in a good mood.
After half an hour, everything was packed and Jiang Zhe returned to his house.
Li Cai Wei had already laid out the bed and sat at the edge of the bed, waiting for him.
Jiang Zhe only felt a warm current flowing in his heart. He slowly walked over and sat next to her, suddenly asking, “Do you resent me?”
Li Cai Wei shook her head.
Jiang Zhe: “Life in the future may not be as good as before.”
Li Cai Wei: “I know.”
Jiang Zhe suddenly smiled.
Li Cai Wei turned her head to look at him curiously, as if saying “What is it?”
Jiang Zhe reached out and touched her face, whispering: “Silly.”
Li Cai Wei frowned.
Jiang Zhe suddenly leaned over closely, and kissed her unguarded forehead like a dragonfly on water*, almost illusory.
Li Cai Wei: “You…”
Jiang Zhe sighed: “I don’t fight a battle I can’t win. I’m not a reckless teenager, how could I do something so rash.”
Jiang Zhe : “So, don’t worry. I have long already prepared the way ahead.”
Li Cai Wei stared at him in a daze.
Jiang Zhe: “What’s wrong?”
Li Cai Wei: “Nothing, I thought you wouldn’t want to tell me this.”
Jiang Zhe lightly stroked her face, gently and tenderly, “We are husband and wife, I don’t want to trouble you with these trivial things.”
Li Cai Wei’s eyes flashed slightly, stared at him for a while, before suddenly throwing herself into his arms, her eyes closed.
Jiang Zhe, I will believe you one last time.
She hugged onto the man, like a drowning man holding the last piece of driftwood.
Jiang Zhe patted her back rhythmically, giving her silent comfort.
In a short while.
A muffled voice could be heard from within his arms, “Then, can you tell me, what do you plan to do next?”
Jiang Zhe did not answer immediately, reading a passage in english instead.
Li Cai Wei looked up at him incredulously. “You, you know”
Jiang Zhe flicked on her forehead and said slowly: “Previously, I went out of my way to learn a little. Just nice, Uncle Zheng wanted to show off a western scroll, but couldn’t find an appropriate translator. Through this coincidence, we met and got along very well.”
Li Cai Wei was amazed: “Uncle Zheng? Is that Third Master Zheng of Yunlan city, who has his hand in both the legal and underworld business?”
Jiang Zhe : “That is him.”
Li Cai Wei sucked in a breath of cold air, for the first time feeling that the man in front of her was too different from her imagination.
Jiang Zhe: “So you don’t have to worry about Concubine Shu finding revenge or trouble. As long as I’m here, I won’t let anyone who bullies you go.”
Li Cai Wei took a moment, then laughed and nodded heavily, “En.”
Jiang Zhe hugged her tightly, his gaze soft.
Of course, Third Master Zheng would not look at an ordinary translator. But a like-minded youngster was different.
