Quick Transmigration The Prodigal Son - Chapter 7
The Eldest Young Master’s Gentle Wife (7)
Jiang Zhe stayed at Mother Jiang’s courtyard till three o’clock. He coaxed her to take an afternoon nap before leaving with the Li family’s brother and sister duo.
As Zhang Ma sent him out, he stopped talking.
Jiang Zhe resumed his previous cold appearance: “What does Zhang Ma want to say?”
Zhang Ma stammered out: “When will Eldest Young Master come over again?”
Jiang Zhe thought for a moment: “I am not busy on the 10th. At noon, I will come back to accompany Mother for lunch.”
Zhang Ma was happy. “Good, good. I will let the servants below prepare the food on the 10th.”
Jiang Zhe expressed neither approval nor anger.
Then he took the stunned silly brother and sister back to the courtyard where he lived, closing the door before saying, “Previously, there were some words said just to make Mother happy. Younger Brother Ming, please don’t mind it.”
Li Ming: “It’s nothing, brother-in-law does not have to be so polite.”
Jiang Zhe: “I transferred your school over; I only hope you will learn what you want to learn. In the future if you wish to help me, I will welcome you. If you have other ambitions, I will also respect you.”
Li Ming did not know what to say, his face turning red from excitement, incoherently giving his thanks: “Brother-in-law, thank you. I, I do not know how to repay your kindness.”
Jiang Zhe: “Okay. If you really want to repay me, just study hard. If you learn well, Cai Wei will be happy too.”
Suddenly named, Li Cai Wei was slightly surprised. Facing her younger brother’s suspicious and puzzled gaze, she smiled and nodded: “Yes, learning well is also a way to repay your brother-in-law’s careful cultivation.”
Li Ming heavily nodded his head: “En.”
Jiang Zhe saw that the two people’s atmosphere was just right. Originally, he wanted to say that he still had business to finish and leave first, letting Cai Wei guide Li Ming around.
However, seeing the clothes on her body and sweeping his sight over her shoes, he paused thoughtfully for a moment before changing his words: “Since Younger Brother Ming is here today, it is better to let things naturally take its course. How about this, I will bring and guide both of you out today.”
Li Cai Wei: “The two of you can go, I will-”
Jiang Zhe intercepted her words, “It’s not good for you to stay at home all the time. You should occasionally go out and take a walk.”
He also told Shui Gen: “Go to the clothing shop and tell Father that I will settle everything tomorrow, and that he need not worry.”
Shui Gen: “Yes, Eldest Young Master.”
Jiang Zhe turned around, holding onto Cai Wei and said to Li Ming: “Let’s go.”
Li Ming: “Ok.”
The three of them got in the car. Jiang Zhe specifically mentions, “Don’t drive too fast; I want to watch the scenery.”
Li Cai Wei raised her head to look at him, her heart already in a turmoil.
There were too many surprises, causing her to be at a loss as to how she should react.
Li Ming ultimately still had a young man’s heart. Although he felt that his sister was being a little weird, his eyes were instantly attracted to the bustling urban scenery outside the window.
As the car passed a clothing store, Jiang Zhe suddenly called for it to stop.
Li Cai Wei: “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Zhe said succintly: “Get off.”
Other than the driver, Li Ming also came down. Jiang Zhe took them into the store.
Immediately, someone came forward and asked: “May I ask what would these esteemed guests like to buy?”
Jiang Zhe pulled Li Cai Wei over: “I want to buy some fashionable dresses for my wife.”
Li Cai Wei: “Jiang Zhe, I-”
Jiang Zhe ignored her, and continued: “The colour should not be too bright; it should be light, elegant and fitting.”
“Okay, sir.”
Soon, three sets of beautiful little dresses were brought out. Jiang Zhe looked at it and thought it was quite good. He turned his head to Li Cai Wei and said, “Try?”
Li Cai Wei: “No need.”
Jiang Zhe paid: “Then we’ll buy everything.”
Li family’s sister and brother: ………
Was that what she/Sister meant?
However, after Jiang Zhe paid, Li Cai Wei looked at the extra bags that appeared, her eyes twitching: “This is?”
Jiang Zhe: “Three sets for Mother, one set for Father.”
Li Cai Wei: “Oh.”
Jiang Zhe threw the clothes into the car, and headed to the next place.
Small leather shoes, high-heeled shoes, perfumes, the various western items, Jiang Zhe almost bought all of it. Finally, only when the car was stuffed full did he stop.
Li Ming was already slouched in the seat, panting.
God, brother-in-law really knows how to buy things. His legs had almost stopped working.
At seven o’clock in the evening, the car slowly drove back to the Jiang estate.
Jiang Zhe picked out a few clothes and let Cui Xi send it back to Li Cai Wei’s room first, before getting people to move the rest of the items in the car into the main hall.
Father Jiang also came back early today. When Jiang Zhe came in, he was just nice in time to have dinner together as a family.
Jiang Zhe also didn’t say much, just distributing the presents to everyone. Undoubtedly, Mother Jiang received the most gifts.
She laughed while rebuking him: “The house has all these things, why did you bother wasting the money?”
Jiang Zhe gave a small smile: “What the house has, and what this son has bought, is different. This is your son’s thoughtfulness.”
Father Jiang’s unhappiness towards his son’s “AWOL” also dissipated, and he told Mother Jiang: “Zhe’er is right, this is our son’s thoughtfulness. You should just accept it.”
Mother Jiang smiled widely and said: “Good, good, good. I will keep it.”
Jiang Zhe brought the Li family’s brother and sister to their seats to eat dinner, seemingly unintentionally mentioning, “Thanks to Cai Wei for reminding me today, otherwise I wouldn’t even know that Mother’s clothes have become outdated. It’s just that I’m usually busy, and will have some oversights. Therefore, I intend to give her some pocket money. If Mother lacks anything in the future, she can help buy it. However, this son still wants to be a good man. In the future, Cai Wei will buy the gifts and this son will personally give it to Mother. Mother should not blame this son for not being sincere.”
Mother Jiang: “This………”
Others also looked in confusion at Li Cai Wei.
Jiang Zhe pretended to be ignorant: “What’s wrong?”
Mother Jiang: “It’s nothing, just that Mother has always been the one guarding the money at home……”
Jiang Zhe: “If that’s so, then never mind. Mother has the money in hand, and can buy whatever she wants to buy, it’s even more convenient.”
Mother Jiang was dumbfounded. The other people were also stunned, they still thought………
Didn’t expect that Jiang Zhe was really just casually mentioning it.
Mother Jiang was anxious, and waved her hands, laughing: “The ones that Zhe’er gifts is naturally not the same as the one Mother buys for herself. Since Cai Wei is still the Jiang family’s Young Mistress, how could she not have any money on hand, right?”
Jiang Zhe swallowed the vegetables in his mouth, nodded naturally.
Mother Jiang sneaked a sigh of relief. Father Jiang looked at him and smiled helplessly.
This stinky boy.

TN: Towards the end of this chapter, it actually says that Jiang Zhe nodded his head disapprovingly. However, it doesn’t really make sense in that context so I changed it to naturally.
