Raising a Giant Dragon in a Small Remote City! - Chapter 34
The night sky was full of stars and so quiet.
After Georgi received the order from Joshua, he immediately set off to observe the movements of the nine-tailed fox clan leader.
On the first day, the nine-tailed fox clan leader was very busy with all the matters in the village.
At night, he was also much more diligent than any other person in the village.
Georgi understood this very well. After all, he had seen the way Joshua had been working over the last few months.
After many days, Georgi had confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the nine-tailed fox clan leader.
Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard a conversation.
At first, he did not observe what was going on, but soon, Georgi found that there was a creature hiding under the nine-tailed fox’s feet talking to him.
So, Georgi immediately cast a spell to strengthen his eyes. He looked into the room and found a transparent chameleon hiding under the table!
After confirming that there was someone else present, Georgi immediately strengthened his hearing, listening in on the conversation between the two.
“It’s getting late. If we don’t act now, we won’t have a chance after the city wall is completed!”
“I know, I know. I’ve been urging them for a long time. They said that the provisions are not ready yet so please wait patiently for a few days!”
“Humans are so troublesome. We can just attack them directly. This Puba Village has a lot of reserves now!”
“I have no choice. I’m just a messenger.”
After the two of them conversed for a while, the chameleon under the table left the room and climbed out of the window.
Georgi carefully followed behind the chameleon as it wandered into the distance.
After walking for a whole night, he found a new city, Tobomori, not far away in the northeast direction.
The chameleon entered the city and Georgi stopped following him.
“Damn it! If I had known earlier, I would have changed into a normal set of clothes.”
Because Georgi was currently wearing his Lancelot Empire uniform, there was no way for him to blend in.
Seeing that the city was heavily guarded, Georgi chose to return and bring the news to Joshua first.
Early in the morning, Joshua woke up early because there were too many people on the bed. There were a total of five people squeezed into one tiny bed.
After he got up, Joshua tried his best to move out of bed and not wake them as he put on his clothes and went into the living room.
He took out the leftovers from yesterday and heated them up, before making a cup of tea from the tea leaves that Malina had specially prepared for him.
“Ah! This thing is really good. Every time I drink it, my whole body will be filled with magical energy.”
After breakfast, Joshua immediately went to the police station, looking for Georgi to prepare for their morning training.
However, he found a problem. Georgi was unexpectedly not here today and their training had been put on hold.
“Did you drink too much with Alger after finishing the training?”
Alger, who was far away, sneezed after he said this. “Who is it! Who’s talking bad about me!”
With no other choice, Joshua had to take the place of Georgi and lead the new students to do morning training.
After completing the morning training, whether Georgi had appeared or not, Joshua went straight to his residence to look for him.
After walking around, he found nothing. The weapons and equipment in the room were all gone.
“He went on a mission? Forget it, I’ll wait for him to come back and ask him in person.”
Saying that, he left the small house and went to the old Village Chief Carl’s home.
The sun was not too hot this morning, so the old Village Chief Carl was basking in the sun in the courtyard as usual.
Joshua looked at him from afar. He did not expect that the old Village Chief Carl had already noticed him. He winked at him slightly, then closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Seeing this scene, Joshua was satisfied and turned around to leave.
He returned to the city hall.
Joshua went straight to Mortimer’s office.
“Have you seen Georgi today?”
Mortimer shook his head. “No! I haven’t seen him for a few days.”
“How many has it been?”
Mortimer did some calculations. “Three days.”
At this time, Joshua remembered what he had told Georgi. There was a high probability that Georgi had found something, which is why he had not returned yet.
“Really, I asked him to send someone to observe the chief but I didn’t expect him to be doing all the work himself.”
After saying that, Joshua turned around and left the city hall, leaving Mortimer with a puzzled look on his face.
It had been three days since the last meeting with Mondettete. Joshua decided to go to the open-air market to check on the situation at the commerce center.
He came to a large open-air market located in the center of Puba Village. There were peddlers everywhere, filled with demi-humans who were selling on the street.
Joshua walked to the edge of the surrounded construction site and found that the land level had been completed. They had entered the construction stage.
Alger was wearing a hard hat and was directing the construction.
Joshua immediately greeted him. “Alger, is the situation going well?”
Hearing the shouts, Alger immediately walked over. “Village Chief Joshua, everything is going well. Today, I’m just helping out a bit. From tomorrow onwards, there’s nothing for me to do.”
“That’s good for you then!”
“I’m just going out for a walk. You don’t have to worry about me.”
After saying that, Joshua turned around and left, preparing to go home for lunch.
Before he reached home, he met Georgi who was hurrying on his way.
“Georgi! I’m here.”
Hearing the shouts, Georgi immediately leaned over. “Village Chief Joshua, I have something urgent to report to you!”
“Let’s go! Let’s go to my house. We’re already at the door.”
Entering the room, Joshua brought Georgi to his office.
“It’s like this! The last time I observed the nine-tailed fox clan chief, I found something abnormal! As expected, he’s colluding with someone else. Moreover, he’s preparing to attack this place when the city wall isn’t built yet!
“After they exchanged information, I followed his contact all the way to the southeast. After a night of tailing him, I found another town that was being built here! Because of my clothes, I was not able to follow him into the city to investigate further.”
After listening to Georgi’s information, Joshua could not help but frown. However, it was useless to be anxious now.
“Let’s eat first!”
After eating, Joshua arranged for Georgi to go back first.
“Prepare to capture the nine-tailed fox chief. After that, get ready for the war. It seems that it will be unavoidable.”
“Yes, I’ll go back and make the arrangements right now.”
“I’ll go over to Mortimer’s place to explain the situation later. When you’re done with your work, you can come over and hand it over to him.”
Having heard Joshua’s words, Georgi left immediately to make the necessary preparations.
