Random Onepiece Ff - Chapter 9 Second Mate
“Eight!” just as Jhin finished shouting the number, the door opened and a beautiful young lady with a shoulder level orange hair came out of the building. Jhin controlled his Haki so that no one would collapse, just barely their limit. As for Nami, he did not exert any pressure on her.
“That was a good choice young lady!” said Jhin coolly. But in his mind, he was shouting. ‘Nami! It is Nami for real!’
Since all of the people present were males, except for Nami, they already formed a line.
“Good, Good! Since were already here, I’ll tell you my purpose here. I came here to get my cook. And you already Knew who am I talking about!” stated Jhin in a loud voice and stared at a certain 6 armed fishman.
“Impossible!” As their captain, Arlong already knew who Jhin was talking about. Even the other members stared at Hatchan.
“I cannot possibly give Hatchi to you!” Arlong added. As pirates, a cook was very important.
“Is there a problem?” Jhin stared at Arlong and increased his pressure. Arlong went down to his knees. He felt like his inside were going to explode.
“Okay, Okay” he managed to squeeze out some words and Jhin finally released his retracted his Haki. Although he was cruel against humans, Arlong treated his crew very well.
“Good! Hatchan, step forward, will ya?!” Jhin said with a smile. “Are you willing to join my crew? Don’t worry, you still have the right to refuse.” asked Jhin gently. He also knew that forcefully taking a crew member was a taboo for pirates. And if he forced him to join, it would be bad and awkward. They might even look for opportunity to attack him or his other crew member.
All of the people looked at Hatchi, they wanted him answer immediately. They just wanted Jhin to leave as the pressure they were handling was very hard to endure anymore.
Hatchan looked around, scanning everyone. His gaze landed on Arlong who was kneeling on the ground. Firstly, he was loyal to him. Secondly, he also wanted to stop his captains suffering.
Hatchan turned around and finally looked at Jhin eye to eye. There was determination in his eyes. He opened his mouth and shouted lightly
“I accept!”
He did not just accept because he was scared. He accepted because he felt that the young man in front of them had a different kind of air from his Captain, Arlong. The other reason is that he was recruited because of his skills in cooking, not something like being the transportation tool.
Hatchan has had a chance to show his skills in cooking for a long time. His job in this park was to be a transporter and some random errands. Although he was one of the strongest, he was just being controlled Arlong, which of course he was unaware of.
He also did not hate humans that much, when he was still small, he met many kind humans. He was even treated with care by a human.(I did not have internet so was not able to search for the name.)
“That is good. Now, shall we go?” Jhin gestured with his hands wide open.
“Captain, what do we do with this guys?” Bartolomeo wo was silent all along asked. His face had a perverted smile on it.
“Leave them be. We already got what we needed. It is time to leave.” replied Jhin. He looked back at Nami and smiled. “Let’s meet at the Grand Line if fate allows it.” Jhin said it like an great sage.
Afterwards, Jhin, Bartolomeo and the new member, Hatchan left towards the ship. Hatchan looked back but did not say anything.
Seeing the smile, Nami blushed a little. She looked at Arlong who had a pitiful appearance. She still could not understand what happened that even her ‘powerful’ captain was made to kneel.
“F*CK!” Arlong cursed. He was still trying to catch his breath. There was immense hatred and fear in his eyes.
As for the marines on the side, they also breathed a sigh of relief. That stifling pressure was finally gone.
“Arlong! Who was that man?” asked the marine captain who had a face like a rat. He was someone bribed by Arlong to keep Arlong’s secret moves from the Navy. This time happened to be the time he’s collecting his money. But someone actually came and caused some trouble.
“I don’t know either! You better keep your mouth sealed. We’ll be both in trouble if every finds out what happened here between us.” spat Arlong. His voice was threatening.
“Of course!” as he said that, he looked back at his 3 subordinates who were sweating a lot.
Puchi!
Blood spread in the pool as the 3 petty officer died.
In the Pearl.
“I now pronounce you as the cook and the third mate of I, Captain Jhin. Welcome to the crew! Hahaha!” Jhin laughed contentedly.
“I am Bartolomeo, the one who’s going to become the most hated pirate of all time. Haha” Bartolomeo said with his usual perverted laugh. He wasn’t really perverted, it is just his face that make him look like one.
“I am Hatchan, you can call me Hatchi!” Hatchan also relaxed when he looked at the carefree attitudes of the two. He was simple minded.
“To Grand Line!” Shouted Jhin excitedly. Bartolomeo and Hatchan also smiled wildly.
6 days later.
Loguetown is currently heavily guarded.
“Captain Smoker sure worries too much. How can a Pirate Ship with only 3 members beat us. He even made all of us deploy.” said a petty officer holding a gun. They were stationed at the port. 3 days ago, the marine scout informed them that the Pirate Ship they spotted at Orange Town was again moving towards Logue Town.
“Right? Let alone us. Can the pirates even beat Smoker-taichou? The captain who never let any pirate escape or pass Loguetown?” said another one.
“That is Loguetown, my home town!” said Bartolomeo proudly. They could already see the faint layout of an island.
Jhin only nodded. He took out a binocular out of nowhere and surveyed the island. But what he saw left him in surprise. There were no ships present docked. The port was empty.
“We’ll stop here. I got a bad feeling about this.” Said Jhin. “Smoker” there was a trace of excitement on his face.
“Why?” asked Bartolomeo. Hatchan tied the sails for the ship to stop moving.
“The island is too quiet. Here..” said Jhin as he passed on the binocular.
“This I’ve never seen the town so quiet before. There should be some marine ships docked. That’s strange.” said Bartolomeo.
“That is right. I have been here several times. It is indeed strange.” added Hatchan. He was sent here several times to spy on the marine movements.
“Hahaha! Bartolomeo, ready your barrier. Protect the Pearl no matter what. Hatchi, here are six swords for you.” said Jhin as 6 blades appeared on his hands and passed it on to Hatchan. They were already used to him taking something out of nowhere. Jhin felt the pain as that costed him 600 Shop Points.
Hatchi happily caught the Swords and started swinging. He needed to get used to it.
When they left the park, he did not get his own 6 swords. And he already told Jhin that he needed 6 swords. So he was quite happy with the sword he received.
Jhin felt guilty seeing Hatchan’s happy face after receiving the swords. They were just tier 1.
“We’ll directly enter their field in an hour. Be ready!” said Jhin. “Smoker” Jhin murmured.
“Tchh.. did no take the bait. As expected, they are not ordinary at all.” said Smoker while puffing out smoke. He was holding a binocular. He monitored the pirate ship the moment it entered their radar.
When he heard the first report, he suddenly felt a strong sense of uneasiness. Smoker sometimes relies on his guts to asses the situation. And sometimes, trusting your gut leads to good things.
“Tell them to not let their guard down.” said Smoker to the officer that came to report.
“Yes, sir!” saluted the officer and left.
