- Chapter 2223: Meetings About Losses
“What do you guys want?”
Bloody Chariot asked the elders and the Deans of the other academies.
“We just want to understand the situation. What happened? Why did the managers suddenly attack the students of your academy?”
“I don’t know.” Bloody Chariot flatly answered.
“How many students died?”
“I don’t know.”
“What is your plan now? Where did those managers go? How are you planning to deal with me.”
“I don’t know.” Bloody Chariot’s face is as flat as a piece of paper as he answered. He didn’t even show a hint of emotion on his face. That actually made these people a bit nervous rather than give them courage though.
“Do you need any help?”
“Yes, stay out of my academy’s business.
I know what is going on in your heads. This is not of the first time one of the Olympian academies has to go through this kind of situation, and all the times previously the remaining academies, focused only on one thing and one thing alone.
To take advantage of the situation.
This time however, I am on the edge. So, please do not provoke me. Not until I am here. Once I leave, you can do whatever the hell you want, I will not object at that time.
So for now, maintain this false façade of care that you are portraying. It would provide me some peace of mind. If you don’t do that… It has been a while since I truly flexed my muscles.
I might do something about it and see if I still got it.”
He left the meeting as soon as he said those words.
The rest of the elders and Deans stayed behind. After making sure that Bloody Chariot left, one of the Deans initiated the conversation.
“What do we need to do about the Hub? That is what we wanted to ask him about. But it seems like he is really pissed off. I don’t want to get on his bad side in this situation.”
“Nobody wants to be on his bad side. That is bloody Chariot for god’s sake. But do you really want to give up the benefits of the hub, just because of that? That is a treasure trove, I tell you. That is a freaking treasure trove.”
That was followed by a silence. Everyone had the same thing in their minds, when they came here. They knew the Hub is shut down and currently the Zeus academy is occupying it. They want to make sure that they wont hog all the benefits.
But now, the discussions halted.
As everyone was lost in their own thoughts, suddenly they all received the messages through the communication tokens.
Even before they could digest the message, the whole Olympian city started quaking. The vibrations could be felt under their feet.
They all spread their divine senses without reservation to the outside of the city, to the different directions.
And they all saw what was coming to their city.
*RUMBLE* *RUMBLE*
The rumbling sound of the charging beasts along with the clouds of dust that followed them behind. Multiple stampedes are all coming to the city from different directions. Beasts of are different characteristics.
From north, the beasts are mostly serpentine and venomous. Snakes, big and small and they are all led by a low-level Sesh Snake. Its bloodline is watered down with various other low level genetics. But the Sesh bloodline was obvious to see.
As it crawled towards the city, everything in its path was trampled if it was lifeless, corroded and degraded if it had life.
In the same way, on the west, the horde is being led by a type of Ape. It is a variant creature with multiple strong ape bloodlines, including the Golden Ape bloodline.
Unlike Sesh, this one had all bloodlines that are surprisingly compatible with each other.
Another direction, the beasts are being led by wolf, a tiger in a different direction and so on.
All the beasts are of Divine Plane Consummate State.
One of the Deans looked at them and frowned.
“Those beasts… they were supposed to be tests and missions for the fourth grade students. They shouldn’t come out of their zones unless they are provoked. Why are they charging at the city? That too all of them together at the same time.”
Everyone had that question in their minds and they all wanted answers.
“We need to restrain them and send them back to their zones. But something is clearly off.”
“That is obvious. We need to investigate it thoroughly. But before that, we need to restrain them. We cannot let them run loose like this.”
Another Dean said and turned to his staff.
“Restrain as many beasts as possible. Don’t kill them. Most of these are needed as the prey for the big ones. Send them back to their zones carefully.
Grand Elders, you bypass the beasts and check what the situation is.”
All the academies followed the same process.
Meanwhile, the managers that entered the hub, didn’t even know that they stuck the lottery. They actually only expected the beasts to create a minor distraction. Nothing major. As long as there is no immediate intervention, they are fine with it.
But they got lucky.
The same thing doesn’t go for the students though. When all these managers became the predators, the fourth graders are nothing more than the prey.
When the Deans and the elders wrapped things up with the beasts quickly and were about to come back, news already came.
All of their messages came from the different people, but the contents of the message and the urgency along with the terror within it, were all the same.
Every elder and dean exchanged a glance. They all knew what is happening. They just left without saying anything else among themselves. The words would purely be a waste at that time anyway.
When they reached the academies, what greeted their eyes, made them feel like killing someone.
The dorms of the fourth grade students of eight different academies were turned into slaughter houses The corridors were drenched in blood. Dorms were destroyed and dead bodies were everywhere. The scene was gory.
The elders immediately followed the trials that led towards the space gates. Dean is in the lead ready to attack without any reservations about the power gap whatsoever. But by then, the managers are already standing in the space gates fully charged and loaded.
All the managers showed middle-fingers to the deans and left.
*BOOM*
The Deans of course attacked, but they couldn’t do much. The space gates were destroyed incurring several losses.
“This is going to be a nightmare. What the fuck is wrong with those psychos?”
One of the elders cursed.
“Recover the coordinates of their escape. We need to capture them. Someone had to answer to the loss of lives.”
Similar orders were heard.
All the academies started taking attendance to list down who were killed and who were spared. The damage to the other academies is definitely not as high as the Zeus academy. But it is not small either.
A similar meeting was held after the kill count and the dead people were analyzed. This time, the deans were the only ones there and they all had adamant expressions on their face.
“We need to search for them. Even at the cost of tearing that Hub down. We need to find a clue. My people are already after the coordinates recovered from the space gate.
But there is no concrete lead.
We discovered some residual space elemental energy fluctuations at the coordinates. They might have used a transference scroll of some sorts there.”
“Similar results from my side.”
“Same here.”
The Dean of the Poseidon academy was the most silent among them all as they all exchanged their thoughts and started brain storming what to do.
“Have you guys noticed anything peculiar with the choice of their killings?” He asked out of the blue.
Everyone looked at him in askance.
“I took a look at the list of people that were killed in my academy. I also talked to the students who tried to fight back. For some students, even when those bastards could kill them easily, they didn’t. But for some students, who were about to escape, those bastards ran behind them and killed them as quickly as possible.
The hurry I can understand, but the pickiness I don’t.
Previously, I believed that the attack on the Zeus academy was just as part of the revenge. Since the start we all assumed that those managers wanted to take revenge on the academies that did them dirty.
But that motive doesn’t explain their attack on the rest of the academies.
There is clearly something bigger than just personal revenge. It seems like their goal is not the academy that kicked them out, rather the system that caused them to be kicked out.
This could very well be an organized revolutionary tactic.
And the list of students they killed kind of solidifies it.”
As he said he placed two lists on the table. One of them is the list of students of Zeus academy that got killed, while the other is the list of students of Poseidon academy.
