Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/destroyer - Chapter 2238: Conference
Sam opened his eyes after doing everything he wanted to do.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he met the gaze of Ling Tian who is staring at him with a deep frown. Sam suddenly felt a bit exposed and adjusted his position in his seat.
“Everyone, I need a minute alone with Sam.”
He announced and without waiting for anyone’s reply he pulled Sam away. Dove looked at this with a bit of confusion. Even a few minutes ago, Sam said that Ling Tian could vouch for Sam’s purpose or something.
She was already a bit curious, but because of all the chaos, she couldn’t really ask him. Now, the curiosity burned even more.
Ling Tian pulled Sam a bit far away from the meeting room and even activated a concealment formation. He looked at Sam straight for a couple of minutes before asking.
“What did you do?”
Sam scratched his head and asked.
“What do you mean?”
“What exactly did you do? Don’t fool around now. Just answer me.”
“I really don’t understand what you mean. I did a lot of things. What are you asking about?”
Ling Tian is a bit stumped. He is almost exasperated. He took a couple of deep breaths and said.
“I don’t want to dig into everything you have done at the moment. I know there is a lot of shit that you stirred and you are directly connected to the current state of the academy realm.
I want to know what you did while closing your eyes in the meeting room.”
“Oh, that? I just paid something back. You can even consider it a return gift for what Poseidon academy tried to give me earlier.”
“Tried? Fucking hell. The Olympians are truly idiots. What did they try to do? What did you do to them?”
“Well…”
Sam is contemplating whether he should explain or not. But Ling Tian saw Dove walking towards them. Even though he is sure that she couldn’t really hear what they were talking, he could see that she is there to talk to them.
So, he removed the formation and looked at her.
“What happened Dove? You need anything?”
“Just some information from the Poseidon academy. Something else happened there. A few people in their academy fell victim to a very potent curse.”
“A curse?” Ling Tian asked and the cogs in his brain moved non-stop. It didn’t even take a second for him to figure out who is the creator of those curses. He knew first hand what Sam is capable of particularly when it comes to curses.
“Yes, a very peculiar curse. Very advanced as well. It is combined with the fire elemental energy, but that elemental energy is so constricted that apart from burning sensation and increase in temperature of the blood, it didn’t do anything.
It is becoming painful with the time.
The Poseidon academy, is asking us for aid. They are requesting for Elder Acruse.”
“I am sure Dean Wharton could figure something out. In times like these… I think even that favor could actually help ease tensions.
I am sure I am not needed to make that decision.”
Ling Tian tried to conclude the conversation. Almost as if asking Dove ‘I can’t do shit about it, so you don’t have to inform me about it.’
Dove also noticed it, but she didn’t give in. She looked at both him and Sam before asking.
“You guys know each other from before the academy?”
Even though it was phrased like a sentence, it was more of a confirmed speculation in her head.
“Yeah, Kinda. We had a few interactions before.”
Sam readily replied. Dove looked at him askance as if she wanted him to continue. But Sam smiled and said.
“I am not in a position to explain the details. Only Ling Tian has the authority to reveal that info. You can ask him.”
With that, Sam slipped past her and went back into the meeting room. Ling Tian sighed and said.
“In fact, even I can’t tell a lot. But I do know him before.”
“Is his recommendation to the academy because of that.”
“Sort of.” Ling Tian replied.
“So, you knew that he has so much beef with the Olympians?”
“Yeah.”
“You still let him stir so much conflict with them in their own home territory?”
“Well, that part is honestly not in my hands. I even gave him a few warnings. But he doesn’t heed anyone’s advice that easily.”
Ling Tian felt a bit aggrieved as if he was being subjected to unfair treatment. Dove shook her head and left.
Ling Tian followed them.
The meeting room’s topic of discussion has changed from Sam to the curses of the Poseidon academy. While they are doing that, excluding the gambler academy and Zeus academy, a secret meeting was held.
And this is not even a proper meeting, it was a conference call only between the deans of the Olympian academy.
The Dean of the Poseidon academy led the conversation.
“I am going to come clean here. We all want a piece of Sam at the moment and just like everyone else in this conversation, our academy also thought a dirty trick and tried to catch him.
However, it backfired…”
Then he proceeded to explain the whole process of how they wanted to place a curse on Sam and how it backfired big time. They also generously told the part where they identified the common point between all the cursed people.
“This strongly proves that Sam is indeed connected to the hub. In fact, this attack could have been an open taunt.” The dean of the poseidon academy concluded.
“Still, how can you be so conclusive? These are just speculations. From the info that I got from the Gambler academy, Sam has a very strong excuse to make them all believe that the hub could be using Sam as a decoy here.
They are deliberately trying to increase vigilance against him and made him more and more suspicious.” Dean of the Apollo academy said.
“Now, who is proposing weird speculations? Dean-Poseidon said sarcastically.
He paused a bit and continued.
“Alright, I didn’t mean to be salty, its a force of habit. Anyway, I do understand how all of this could be struck off as speculative and the point the gambler academy is going with also has some merit.
Even if we assume that both of those true, with this we at least understood the hidden dangers of the wrist bands and hubs a bit more.
So, I believe that we can use this to leverage some more resistance against the Hub.
For that, I need your help.”
“What do you need?” One of the other Deans asked.
“First and foremost, the main advantage the Hub has over us is the information. The hub not only has all the deepest darkest secrets of everyone that ever stepped in this region, they also got the live updates.
At least from the wristbands and the bird puppets of the people who are still stupidly using them.
We need to eliminate that.
The elder I sent didnt have either, and the plan of planting a curse on Sam was executed by everyone that didn’t have their wrist bands of bird puppets. In fact, they were all strip searched with all kinds of means that I could think of.
There is no way the information leaked from the inside, at least not through the regular means of hub. After the plan was executed, and the scroll was sent to him, there was no conversation about the curse at any possible moment.
So, the only way for this to happen was that the communication happened from Sam’s side. He didn’t even spend much time with the scroll. He just signed after reading it a bunch of times.
How did that happen then? Sam didn’t even get affected by the said curse to even speculate further. Either, Sam is someone who is so proficient in curses that our experts are closer to fools compared to him.
Or, the Hub has already taken measures before, for such situations.
If they can do all this with such partial surveillance now, imagine what kind of control they had when everyone was actively using their things?
What would happen, when the first graders that went to the pocket dimension comes back?
So, we need to control the situation and destroy this means of communication by any means necessary. Even if we have to bend the rules a bit.”
There is an eerie silence in the call and this made Poseidon happy. Because for the first time in a while the deans that were used to crushing everything with absolute force, started thinking of plots.
After some time they agreed.
At the same time, Bloody Chariot who was not part this little rule bending stint, is actually following the law. And he went through proper channels to arrange a proper meet with Sam.
