Realm Wars - Chapter 200
Looking at the small screen Nash gave to him, Ryu didn’t have time to marvel at how it works. The important thing to remember was that the red blinking dot was where Rosa and the others were, while the blue blinking dot was his location.
As soon as the metal door opened. He sprinted outside the Sanctuary. They didn’t have to open the towering gates to let a single halfbreed out and let in a horde of zombies in as a result. With Ryu’s physical abilities, he easily climbed the hundred-meter concrete wall with his claws and speed, crossing the other side with impeccable ease.
In the past, he couldn’t jump from more than a hundred miter height. But now . . . Ryu felt that he could do anything. He was much stronger after his fight with Rakash.
He leaped and landed in all fours at the hordes of zombies, creating a vast crevice filled with severed undead limbs and blood.
He didn’t have time to stop. He moved forward at an astonishing speed while pulverizing every zombie that barged his way. He was like an armored truck. Unstoppable and dangerous.
At the same time, those who watched Ryu inside the Sanctuary had gaping mouths. Because whatever he did, leaping from that height without breaking any bones nor injury was a fit they most certainly couldn’t do.
Nash was amazed at Ryu’s physical strength. Even for him, he had to at least climb down to a safe distance before he could land on the ground without breaking his knees.
“Can you do that?” a halfbreed asked.
And another answered. “If I have wings.”

At the same time, in Rosa’s group, they were in a pinch.
They were beast sniffing their scent. For a moment, the beast held still as if time had stopped. Then it released a rumbling sound, and its cheeks exploded with large cusps of hooked lengths of bones. The sharp bones immediately begin to reach into the air and violently pull anything it caught into its mouth. Then its jaws snapped in the direction of the building they were hiding.
“Not good! Everybody out!” Saxa said. If the beast smelled them, then it was only a matter of time before the others too. And soon, a horde of beasts and undead would surround them in an enclosed space.
What’s worse, they were mutated monsters that could easily destroy the building to flash them out.
Rosa and the others removed the furniture that blocked the only entrance and exit with haste. The moment they opened the door, a horde of zombies roared at their faces. Their mouth snapped at first sight of fresh flesh.
“Argh!” Kelly squirmed and hopped towards Rosa’s back while bullets from Saxa’s guns made their mark on the zombies’ heads, saving Rosa and Fjord from the zombies’ teeth.
Myla swung her gigantic hammer towards the undead, breaking their skulls with a single hit.
“Move!” Saxa shouted, and everyone ran towards the exit of the building.
With the noise they created, it would only be a matter of time before they were surrounded.
Another horde of undead intercepted them at the base of the building, and Fjord led the group towards another back door.
“This way! Hurry!”
The group rounded the corner and entered a metal door leading towards the fire exit. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they got out and saw the narrow alleyway was cleared of undead for once.
“This way.” Saxa ran in the opposite direction of the mutated monsters, and Rosa could only hope that she knew where they were going.
Without the armored vehicle, Rosa felt like she was so exposed. It was more than a feeling of running around naked. It made her feel so vulnerable.
“No matter what, don’t stop running,” Fjord said as he covered their backs.
Saxa hid behind a parked vehicle while she waited for the others.
Every five minutes or so, the group had to hide behind a vehicle or an alleyway to check for their surroundings. And if the coast was clear, they sprinted nonstop until they were out of breath. They understood that when they were out in the open like this, there was no stopping, for a beast might get a whiff of their scent.
They had to continue moving if they didn’t want to be caught and trapped in the center of the undead.
“How far is this city X?” Rosa asked, catching her breath. At this rate, she’d be out of breath and water before the zombies could even get to her.
“Still far.” Fjord’s face was pale and grim. He was not much in endurance game either.
“Can you find some car that will work?” Kelly asked, tone and face innocent as her voice. Since she was a halfbreed, running long distances didn’t bother her. Same with Myla.
At least if she could no longer run, she’d let Kelly carry her in her back. Rosa mused to herself.
Fjord shook his head. “It’s still useless if it’s not an armored modified car. A regular vehicle only attacks noise and couldn’t do anything to a horde of zombies. We’ll be surrounded and trapped before we can even move from their sheer numbers alone.
“I think it’s better than catching our breath every five minutes,” Rosa muttered.
“Stop whining and keep your eyes wide,” Saxa berated. “Don’t forget why we came here.”
She faced them with a severe expression and said, “Don’t forget why we’re here in the first place. Keep a lookout for food and water while keeping your head on your shoulders at all–!”
RaArgGh!
Rosa gasped while Kelly and Fjord squirmed when a giant mutated monster appeared out of nowhere on top of the vehicle they were hiding. It chomped Saxa’s head in one bite and swallowed it in one gulp.
Her blood and torn innards sprayed everywhere, and it splattered on Rosa’s stunned face while the rest of Saxa’s body fell on the ground like a mangled corpse.
Rosa’s eyes shook in horror at the mutated monster in front of her.
The giant zombie whose skin was stitched together attracted flies and insects –– not just a few but thousands. The flies’ formed like a second skin, black and buzzing with movements.
Some had made nests at the back of it. They crawled around on its rotting flesh, making a home within the revolting patches of sores and lesions on its back. It oozed puss with its every movement. Scabs broke and further dripped fluids when it moved.
Rosa’s eyes rolled in the back of her head from disgust, and she hurled all what little food she had out from her mouth.
“Run!”
Rosa didn’t know who and where that voice came from, but she couldn’t move when the creature opened its mouth wide, and thousands of flies came out, hurling towards her in full force.
“Rosa!”
