Realm Wars - Chapter 206
“I said go!” Kai screamed and was dragged back into the darkness.
“Kai!” Seraphina was torn. She wanted to help Kai, but there was also the issue of the lock maintenance hole. The first thing to do was open the cover while Kai kept them occupied.
Seraphina bit her lip. She had fate in Kai’s ability and his uncanny luck that got him out of any situation. If he didn’t return after they opened the utility hole, then she would go back and help him.
“Let’s go.” Seraphina grabbed Rosa by the hand, but the latter just flung her arm away.
“I can manage.” Rosa got up and briefly shot a look over her shoulder. There was metal clashing against metal and shouting within the tunnel. Kai was probably fighting and fending Ric’s group alone.
Rosa frowned and thought. You better not die. I still have a bone to pick with you for throwing me on the ground.
She then looked over at the maintenance hole cover that Myla was trying to destroy with sheer strength alone. Her large hammer got in the way since she couldn’t swing that thing in the tight space.
The metal cover was actually thick, and Myla was close to destroying the thick bolt, but Rosa thought there was a much quicker way.
“All of you, get back!” Rosa flicked her hand, and a vial appeared in her fingers. She then threw it on the metal cover when Myla and the others climbed down the ladder in a hurry to get away from the exit.
The vial broke upon contact against the utility hole cover, and a sizzling sound filled the space before the metal melted like butter on the ground.
“Go now!” Fjord assisted Kelly and Myla to go first while he looked at Seraphina and Rosa. “What are you girls waiting for?”
“You all go ahead. I’ll go and help Kai.” Seraphina was about to sprint back when Kelly’s scream pierced their ears.
“What the?” Fjord hurried upwards while Rosa and Seraphina looked at each other in confusion.
“Now what?” It was one problem after another. Rosa thought and clicked her tongue. She shot one last look at the sound of fighting in the tunnel before climbing the ladder out.
Seraphina wanted to help Kai but seeing that Kelly and the others might have encountered mutated monsters, she decided to help them instead. Myla was the only fighter above, while Fjord was just an average human with no combat experience.
Besides that, Seraphina wanted to protect Rosa because of Ryu. Or at least the ring she was wearing which held Ferris.
Seraphina took one last look in Kai’s direction, but she couldn’t see amidst the darkness. Kai was a swordmaster and a very good one at that. She believed he could escape his situation as he did so in the past.
“Don’t die,” she muttered before she went up to face whatever was waiting for them on the surface.
On the surface, what awaited Seraphina and the others was a creature whose body was scorned with limbs that sprouted in a chaotic and illogical manner. Wildly different arms, legs, and tentacles hang straight in the air, varying in sizes and features, giving way to fascinating horrors.
There were human-like arms exiting in the belly of the creature, wrapping on him like a loving embrace. They seemed to be its victims’ limbs that are attached to its body.
In one of its many limbs held Kelly in a tight grip.
“Wha . . . What is that?” Fjord didn’t blink as his eyes widened at the monstrosity before them.
“That’s not important! We have to get that midget and get out of here!” Rosa roared. There were hordes of undead coming in their way, and if they didn’t leave soon, they would be trapped on all sides.
“Fjord and Myla, you get Kelly out from that monster! Rosa, you keep the horde of zombies coming in our way while I keep that monster occupied” Even though Seraphina said that, she didn’t know what to do without her spells. The best she could do was to use her items.
If worse came to worst, she would just use rare items if necessary.
Rosa clicked her tongue and sneered. Who died and made her boss?
She then briefly shot Kelly a look. “Stupid little fool, getting herself caught,” she muttered before facing the horde of zombies that were almost to their front.
Rosa stepped forward. Hives broke out from her skin at the sight of rotten flesh, torn skin, and bones that reeked of death. She’d get this done and over with quickly before they had the chance to surround and corner them.
Rosa snatched an expensive rare scroll of elemental fire in her traveler’s ring and began to chant the words on its parchment. The fire was capable of burning weak-level monsters and beasts in its path, and she was reserving it in case she ran out of mana.
For the hordes of weak undead, it was a perfect item to incinerate them into ashes.
A burst of fire enveloped an area around Rosa before it burst forth towards the hordes of zombies, burning them to the ground that not even their ashes remained.
However, that was only one of the hordes of undead that came their way. There were still so much more in all corners. They kept on coming from every direction that Rosa was considering going back inside the tunnel.
But that would be a bad idea since she melted the cover. The only seal that protected the tunnel from the undead. What’s more, they would be surrounded by zombies in a tight space with nowhere to retreat but back to those closed-minded beings and their rules.
She could only bite her lips and burn another scroll to keep them at bay.
“Hurry up and rescue the midget already! Or let’s just leave her behind and run!” Rosa shouted at the others.
Kelly burst into tears. “D-don’t leave me!”
Fjord shot a series of bullets at the mutated monster’s limbs that were holding Kelly, but no matter how many bullets he wasted, another limb just took hold of the small halfbreed.
Using her large hammer, Myla charged towards the mutated monster, aiming for its head, but the many limbs on its body prevented her from even approaching it.. Its limbs blocked Myla’s hammer before they flung the little elf away.
