Ning Shufen was already dressed in a different clothes. She was inside her carriage and Cheng was outside preparing the food. Cheng didn’t leave unlike what the real mission should be.

Cheng didn’t want to leave her alone in the Tia mountain. He said it was dangerous for a little girl alone. She even said to him that she was capable of protecting herself but Cheng’s unstoppable mouth was really unstoppable. He said to her that what would the first stage of cultivation could do.

Yes, it was better than a normal human being but it was too weak for the others. She could be a prey for all he know.

Ning Shufen stared at Cheng who was eating silently. Sighing she took a bite and she was amazed that Cheng was an amazing cook. The meat was soft and tender, the taste was also good, so juicy. How the hell did he cook in the middle of nowhere.

“Eat more” Cheng spoke when Ning Shufen stopped eating. He thought that she was on diet but in fact she stopped because she have to munch her food. Ning Shufen didn’t explain and just nodded. They ate in silence. The sounds of the birds and the falls made them comfortable with the silence. It wasn’t awkward for the both of them, they were comfortable to each others presence.

The more Ning Shufen look at Cheng’s eyes, the more it became more mysterious to her. His eye color was also questionable, at first it was black then it’ll turn into a dark blue or maybe it was just the light. When Ning Shufen saw him the first time, he looks so cheerful, he seems like an easygoing person but he isn’t. His eyes held deep misery, so sad. Like he had experience hell, More than the hell could give him but he passed them all.

Still it doesn’t mean he can’t feel those loneliness. He always felt lonely,like he lived in an isolated place for a long time. Ning Shufen could relate to this, she knew how lonely it was.

“By the way, Why did you even decide to go here?” Ning Shufen sighed. She can avoid this but she decided to answer him truthfully. She told him about the book. But not all the details about it. Cheng listened carefully. He was silent for a long time before he stared at her like he knew something that she doesn’t know.

“I’ll help you get it but.” Ning Shufen stared back at him. She saw that his eyes was glowing. The color keeps changing, It stopped when he blinked.

“But what?”

“Don’t tell anyone about this, even if you trust that person” Ning Shufen knew this and nodded. Her instincts tell her that he can be trusted.

“Start packing, we’ll leave the carriage here. The horse has water here and food we can leave them here. No one will see them here, probably” Cheng said to Ning Shufen, she just nodded as she didn’t heard the last part of his words. If someone saw their carriage and the horse, they have to walk home.
