Rebirth in Against the Gods with The Ultimate System - Chapter 136
“What kind of answer I am going to give to elder sister? Maybe I should just come clean.”
A lone figure spoke in her heart as she made her way into the icy mountains after a week of disappearance. She remembered the moment she left the sect in pursuit of power and instantly regretted it. She wondered whether the decision she made back then was a wise decision. Even if she got a massive power boost, it was all because of that man. If he didn’t enter the tournament or disregard her existence, will she able to return alive and well from the tomb? She might lose her life as well as cause great grief to her beloved sister but now, it’s because of him that she was able to witness her sect again after a week.
When she remembered those moments, her cheeks immediately turned red as she remembered the face of the man who rescued her. He gave her everything and even allowed her to escape with her life intact. A debt she can never repay even with her own life.
She raised her blue handle long katana blade in her hand before observing it and spoke to herself “He gave me a second chance in life. Elder sister might scold me for this but at least I’ll get to see her again. I’ll gladly accept any punishment that comes later.” She suddenly shudders in fear as she might have to face her wrath after disappearing without telling her. Before this, she didn’t even care whether she went into cultivation or not. The same can be said for her when her elder sister went on cultivation as well but now that she regained her emotions once more, she was caring more than ever. Her older sister always carried a stoic and emotionless expression even with her own little sister around but after she came back, she smiled almost every day when they talked to each other and being together almost everywhere. Makes her wonder what kind of journey that changed her from an extremely cold person to someone so caring about her and her comrades. Well, she still use her cold expression sometimes with her comrades but she’s really warm when its comes to her.
“I wonder I became the same state as her right now.” She felt her heart as she spoke internally. She admits that she felt complete when her ice heart shattered as she heart rumors that shattered ice hearts equals to becoming an Asgard failure. Instead, she felt even more powerful than before. She once heard that shattered ice hearts supposed to turn the disciples into cripples but not this. Despite all of that, it was the best feeling ever. She felt that she was loved and cared for. She even fell in love…
Fell in…..
Love?
….
….
…
“What in the world am I thinking?!?!” The lone beauty instantly stops in the middle of the icy realm and light knock her own head. “I fell in love for the first time ever. The sect forbid such feelings and I might be crippled and expelled from the sect from such feelings but…
“If I hide it properly, no one will know. Right?” She pulls a deep breath and regained her bearings before making her way home once more. When she arrived back at her sect, the gates were close due to the preparation needed for the tournament three months from now and all sect disciples will be confined within the sect. However, the same treatment is not applied to the high-ranking members of the sect like her means she can come and go as she please but she remembered that she left the place in secret and if she went through that gate, everyone will know for sure. When she left, she had her cultivation suppressed and went through the gate undetected after telling the sect she had to train in seclusion in one of the sect’s secluded area.
“If I went through the barrier, everyone will be on alert. Even mother and elder sister. What am I going to do?” She thought.
There is one place.
A place that she and her sister once stumbled upon inside the sect when they were younger. A dark path leading straight out of the sect’s inner compound and storm barrier. Hidden, secluded and undetected tunnel carved underneath the mountain of ice and snow. They were surprised at that time when they discovered such path existed and their younger minds could help with the idea of traversing it. However, they were found out and severely punished by the sect master at that time. The sect master then had that place sealed off to prevent any unwanted people from entering the sect illegally.
“Wonder if it still there?” She spoke internally before flying to the place where they were once caught when they were younger. The place she thought of was not that far from the sect’s barrier boundary. The flight led her straight into a frozen lake with a small stone pavilion on a small island in the middle of the lake. The remembered that the place was once used as a training zone for disciples back then but due to the sect’s territory was getting bigger and the snow barrier was established, the place was abandoned entirely. Even the area outside the barrier was covered with a massive snowstorm and people will have a hard time finding this place.
The sect’s disciples were trained to use their arts until their body was immune to the cold sensation outside. Even if the temperature around them was below freezing point, they can still traverse the snowy realm without feeling anything.
“I remember this place was a lot bigger when I came here last time.” The beautiful lone figure named Chu Yueli arrived at the small pavilion where she and her sister once came to see the outside world. She remembered that ever since she and her sister were taken from their family, they were forbidden to leave the sect unless they were chosen for an important occasion. So back then, their curiosity were pique and they discovered a tunnel underneath a small pavilion in their special training zone. All because of their relationship with the sect master, she gave them a special training zone used to be hers during her era.
The pavilion doesn’t change at all despite being covered with ice and snow from the stormy weather. She slowly gave the giant door a push and the view were still the same from all those years ago. Due to its abandonment, the disciples took all the things used to belong to the pavilion back to the sect leaving behind an empty zone. Some snow and ice still formed within the small hall despite being sealed for years. Seeing this view, she widens her eyes and thought….
“I thought she destroyed this place years ago. Wonder why she couldn’t do it?” She was told that the place was destroyed years ago by the sect master after she sealed this place, but she never expected to see it remain standing. She remembered that both sisters were relocated from their training zone because of the sect master’s punishment into somewhere other than the sect master’s training, but they were sent back there once their cultivation was high enough.
As she walked through the empty and icy hall, she went down on a memory lane as she remembered the harsh punishment she had to went through along with her sister. She slowly smiled. Back then, her sister was willing to shoulder the blame for taking her through the tunnel, but she also took it making both sisters were severely punished.
“It was all worth it.” She spoke as she arrived at the end of the small pavilion hall. If anyone were here, this place will be an ordinary empty hall, but she walked straight to the empty wall and search for a hidden clue she found back then.
“If my memory serves right, it should be around…..” Chu Yueli pressed her palm along the wall to find the hidden clue. Suddenly, she felt it touched something sharp. When she looked closely, it was the crest of the Frozen Cloud Asgard but it was hidden entirely by the formed snow and ice. Smiled to her success, she pours a bit of her profound strength and the crest immediately responds. She remembered that the crest only responds to a unique icy profound strength emitted by the sect’s disciples. Like most crest do in all special places within the sect.
*Click….
The sound of clicking were heard underneath the floor as the stone floor underneath her started to shift downwards one by one and started to form stairs leading downwards into the darkness. Chu Yueli didn’t hesitate to climb down the stairs leading to the tunnel straight to the sect via underground. Back then, she was curious how the tunnel was formed in the sect master’s training zone. Is it served as an escape tunnel if the sect descends into chaos? Or the sect master formed it to get out of the sect in her leisure time? She was the sect master, why would she needed a secret tunnel to get out of the sect. She will never know the true reason why it was created.
When she arrived at the end of the stone stairs, she pressed the crest nearby and the stone stairs shifted back upwards, and the secret stairs disappeared. She remembered the tunnel down here were illuminated with blue icy lights and her guess was still the same.
It’s still is…..
The tunnel isn’t formed like those perfectly carved hallways but just made like ordinary cave tunnels, but this tunnel was made through the icy mountain. Despite years of being sealed, it looked just like in her memories when she was still a kid.
Chu Yueli started to remember the last time she crossed this tunnel. They stumbled upon an old icy pavilion in their training area and found a similar crest in the walls. So, they pressed it and found a stone stair leading straight into this tunnel. She also remembered that both sisters were trapped when the stone stairs closed behind them at the other end, so they have no choice but to move forward and forgot that there’s another crest nearby to trigger the stairs again. When they arrived at the other end, the sect master was waiting for them with a stoic and expressionless face, but anyone could tell that she was entirely pissed. She knew back then that they messed up big time.
“By right, this should lead back into the pavilion back in our training zone.” She instantly wondered that if a spy found out about this tunnel, they could come and go undetected by the Frozen Cloud Asgard. Moreover, their sect disciples could sneak out anytime as it was out of their range of detection. Now, that the tunnel is here. She could use it to sneak out and meet Mihawk again.
……..
…
“Sigh, Am I really that in love with him?” She shook her head again as this time, her sister is much more important than this. Same as when before, she pressed the crest at the other side after a long walk underneath the icy tunnels. The stone stairs on the other side formed once more and this time she was inside the sect and underneath a pavilion in the sect master’s or the Chu sisters training zone.
As she arrived on top, she closed the tunnel behind her and tried to scout ahead for anyone but what she didn’t expect was…
“So, the fool of a sister finally returns? How was your secluded training by the way?” An icy cold voice suddenly enters her ears as the Chu Yueli immediately shudders as she heard the voice followed by a wave of extremely cold air around her. She felt like she was going to freeze to death the moment she feels it. Then, she tried her best to identify the source of the voice. It was none other than her own blood sister, Chu Yuechan. As beautiful as the radiating sun, she stood there with her sect’s robe in front of the door leading into the pavilion. In this pavilion, it was not as empty as the other side, but this pavilion was decorated by the Chu sisters when they regained this training zone. Knowing that the tunnel was destroyed by the sect masters, they didn’t bother to pressed it again until now…..
“Elder sister…..” She was smiling once she gets to see her again. After all the struggles and near-death experience, she was happy and wanted to embrace her again.
“Don’t elder sister me….” Chu Yuechan suddenly spoke in a cold tone releasing her warm but extremely cold aura to her. She was smiling at her but that smile of hers doesn’t carry a loving and warm smile. It was the smile of someone really pissed.
Real pissed.
“Eeep!!!” She was instantly startled. She never seen her this mad before. She tried to calm her down but…. “Elder sister, I…I can..n… explain…”
Chu Yuechan instantly cut her words off by saying “Kneel….”
She tried to ease her wrath but it was futile. “I can….”
“I said… Kneel” She shouted like a strict sister towards her without releasing her cold aura. Despite being dominant and the higher ground, she refused to use such force against her own sister.
Chu Yueli instantly kneel in front of her like an obedient sister despite being an ȧduŀt. Normal people would flip after being told like that, but she instantly followed her orders. Looks like her love for her sister grew stronger than before and she didn’t hesitate to follow it and this time, Chu Yuechan didn’t also hesitate to scold her. With an ‘extremely’ warm smile, she looked at her kneeling sister with contempt. “Do you realized what you have done?”
The younger sister didn’t say anything but just look down to the floor. She was in the wrong here and didn’t bother to defend herself.
“Do you know how worried I was? I came to bring you some food and wanted to chat, but I found out that you weren’t in the training chamber. I tried searching for you, but you were gone entirely from the sect. You didn’t even tell the sect master where you were going…. more importantly, you didn’t even tell me.”
Even though it was futile, she tried to soothe her sister’s anger. She slowly spoke “Elder sister….”
“Explain….” Chu Yuechan turned a deaf ear at her words.
“Ehh?” The younger sister spoke as she expected a beating from that expression.
“Explain yourself with full details and don’t bother hiding anything from me. I can know whether you were lying or not.” Chu Yuechan looked at her with stern eyes. She activated her haki to sense if she had pulsing sensation within her energy. This way she will know if she was lying or didn’t tell her anything.
Chu Yueli pulled a deep breath and decided to come clean. She relays and confessed everything to her from the beginning until the end. Everything out of everything. Including her disguise, fights, meeting with the great swordsman himself, the Moon Empress and her recent near-death experience.
When it comes to that part, Chu Yuechan however, listened closely and didn’t spare any details. She was restraining herself from overreacting but a certain someone said that sometimes she had to know their side of the story before making any conclusion. Nothing good will ever come out from acting rashly and she kept in mind that this is her beloved sister. Her sister that told her almost everything and the only blood family she had left. Even if she acted rashly, there must be a reason for it as she didn’t want the trust she built until now shattered again.
“And…. That’s about it” She even shows her the treasure ring given by Mihawk but she didn’t even bat an eye towards it as she had zero interest on it. Ever since meeting Yun Che and the others. Only they could give a treasure worth much more than those things. Be it clothing, cultivation materials and tips or weapons. Theirs are much more superior than any treasure and her current strength came from their items. Besides, she knew the consequences of carrying a hot potato and they changed her perception on the true meaning of treasures during their travels.
Chu Yuechan gave it a small thought before releasing a deep sigh. “So, you went to the tournament knowing that it would claim your life?”
Her sister just nodded her head before she sensed her elder sister suddenly shifted her body closer to her.
“Elder sister…I…”
*SLAP!!!!!
A sharp pain suddenly felt on Chu Yueli’s cheeks as she was instantly stunned by such action. Her sister was quite ruthless with her before she regains her emotions and she was quite used to the pain. But, somehow this strength-less slap to her cheeks really stings. She almost stumbled from the slap as she didn’t expect she would do such a thing.
She turned her face to her sister once more but what she saw shatters her heart.
Chu Yuechan’s face was not stoic or emotionless. It was not cold like her foster mother or the sect’s disciples. It was sadness. Genuine sadness. She saw tears coming down from her beautiful eyes to her cheeks. Normally, tears wouldn’t affect her that much but seeing her sister shed her tears really broke her heart.
“What were you thinking?!? Do you know what would happen IF that Mihawk didn’t save you….?!?! Have you even consulted me before making such a decision?!?”
With tears keep coming out of her eyes, she continued “Have you ever considered how I felt if my beloved sister died a horrible death somewhere unknown to me?!?”
Every word her elder sister threw at her were like poisonous arrows piercing through her heart. She couldn’t retort. She couldn’t even say anything or talk back. She wanted to say that her sister was once like her. Almost lost her life until that so-called senior brought her back from the brink of death, but she remembered that she felt no such sadness when she told them that. Cultivators died here and there. It is common for revenge among them, but this is not the same. Now that her ice heart shattered, she finally knows how it feels. She just bows her head in shame at her words.
“Why….? Why didn’t you tell me….? Do you have no such regards on me?” Chu Yuechan spoke with tears coming out of her eyes. The most vulnerable state and expression she ever shown to anyone. Only her sister and Yun Che ever seen such expression. The expression almost tore Chu Yueli to pieces with such guilt knowing that she was the one who caused it.
Chu Yueli hold her sister by her shoulders and spoke between words at the same time wiping her tears with her sleeves. “It’s not like that. I wanted us to be what we used to…. The unbeatable sisters that relied on each other… as equals…..but… you grew stronger and distant back then as I became weaker than you. For a long time, you ignored and refused to acknowledge me. Even when I had my first disciple, you didn’t even look at me. But, when you came back, I was happy when you were caring like you were before you started cultivating the Frozen Cloud Arts. You rarely talk for a few years but now, you told me almost everything. We bonded with each other just like we used to. I was happy…. I was really happy but your strength grew larger again and it’s a matter of time before you ignored me again. So, I wanted to close the gap before that happens, so we’ll always be together.”
This time, it was Chu Yuechan’s turn to bow her head in shame. She always thought about herself but never once she thought about her sister’s feelings. They were sisters. Her only sister and yet she used the excuse to protect her and grow stronger just to left her behind. Even when she was infected with a flame poison, she made her resolve to die but she never tries to remember her bonds she shared with her. As she grew stronger, she became colder.
That is the true nature of the Frozen Cloud Asgard.
Beautiful…. Stronger…..and Colder….
If it wasn’t for Yun Che, she would never regain her emotions and reconciled with her sister. She was sent on a memory lane when she remembered that she always ignored her as she grew in cultivation but now, she wanted to try her best to reform the bonds she once lost. Whether it was out of love or guilt. She did it and now to think that her sister did all of this so they could be together like they used to.
The unbeatable duo they once were.
It was her heart that started to shatter. She slapped her because of her selfishness. She knew she was a horrible sister. She didn’t deserve Chu Yueli affection after all.
Chu Yueli blurted out her heart to her. Despite all of that, she finally got rid of the dreadful feelings in her heart. Now, it is up to her elder sister whether she believed it or not. As she closed her eyes waiting for her sister’s wrath, all she was felt something soft on her ċhėst.
The elder sister threw herself at her, hugging her with all her might and refusing to let her go even for a second. With tears in her eyes, she also released all her guilt. “I am sorry…. I am sorry…. I shouldn’t leave you behind. I wasn’t there when you needed me. I left you all alone and even forget that I had a wonderful sister with me when I cultivate. When you needed me, I turned my back on you. I am sorry…..I am really sorry.”
Chu Yueli lost control of her emotion before she cried on her ċhėst as well. Her selfishness, her helplessness and her despair back in the tomb. She threw all of it in the elder sister’s ċhėst. She was a thirty-year-old woman and she cried just like a little girl. She never felt so glad to be back in her arms again. She was glad she lost her ice heart. It made her stronger and better than she was before. It made her feel…..
Complete…..
They both hugged each other for a while before she mustered enough words between her sniffles. “Elder sister….. I am sorry as well. I was afraid that you will never let me go if I tell you. I wanted to grow stronger for you. I don’t want to stand behind you anymore. I want to always stand next to you…..like we used to”
The older sister wiped the younger sister’s tears with her sleeves before petting her head softly. “You should be…. Next time, you could ask me to accompany you or take part to take the inheritance for you instead of going by yourself but it’s all the past now. I promise, if I grew stronger, so will you. I promised never to leave you behind again. From now on, don’t you dare leave my sight or going off on your own ever again. That’s your punishment for almost dying at that dreadful place. Understand?”
Chu Yueli widen her teared eyes as she widens her smiles hearing those words. She nodded her head knowing that this sister of hers will always watch her back. “Big sister….. you promised? We’ll be together like we used to? Even if I went to the bathroom?”
The elder sister just gently chops her head as she was able to jest even in this moment. Come to think of it, they were so cold to each other that jokes were considered a miracle even if it works. “That’s an exception but you know what I meant.”
“Big sister….*Sob… Hnn… I promise.” Chu Yueli finally burst into tears again as she hugged her older sister and shares an emotional moment with her. She’s not a Frozen Cloud Asgard Seven Fairies right now, she’s just a girl in the arms of her sister. Her feelings of dying in the hands of those men, her guilt for leaving her behind and becoming incompetent in her life resurfaced as she pours everything into her cries. Regaining her emotions was the best thing happen in her life as she could finally have a proper bond with her sister. The same goes for Chu Yuechan, she could only hope that her little sister could forgive her for being selfish back then. Now, those guilt and burden were off.
But unaware that both ladies were thanking the man who changed the perception on life.
Chu Yuechan slowly lifted her sister’s face and wipe her tears with her sleeve again at the same time rubbing her head softly. “I am so glad that you’re still alive. You could’ve asked me to go with you to that tournament.”
“I wanted to…. but… I wanted to grow stronger on my own. To make you proud instead of relying on you.” The younger sister replied.
Chu Yuechan slowly pat her sister’s head and slowly spoke in a soothing tone. “You already made me proud, but the unbeatable duo stays together. Am I right?”
“Hnnn, next time… I’ll ask you to come with me, big sister.” Chu Yueli used the term big sister when she was little, but it sounded childish as she grew up, but also, she wanted to become a spoiled sister to Chu Yuechan once more.
“Yueli, if you want… you can call me ‘Onee-san’” Chu Yuechan spoke with darting her eyes and had a slight blush on her cheeks. She learnt the term from Retsu as she came from a place using different language unlike them same as like Yun Che. The more she hears them, the more interested she became. She even managed to learn a few phrases from her, and she never knew hearing their language could sound so pleasing. Especially, the callings among people and honorifics added to them. Retsu did try to use honorifics on her but her name was already had -chan so using honorifics on her seems off. So, she sticks it to just ‘sister’. Same goes for Cang Yue, Retsu tried calling her Yue-chan but it’s the same with her name. So, she decided to use ‘sister’ for both Cang Yue and her.
“Onee-san? What is it mean?” Chu Yueli tilted her head in confusion. She didn’t know what it means and why her sister wanted to be called that. It has an unknown meaning to her, and the sound was kind of foreign. She also had a strong feeling that her sword’s name came from the same language.
“It means big sister but in a different language. You can use it if you want. It’s basically the same as Elder sister and big sister. Only in this term, you use Onee-san and Onee-chan.” Chu Yuechan explained unaware that -chan is the term use to call a person in a cutesy or in a close way.
“Ehhh? It sounds kind of foreign.” Chu Yueli responded.
“Hnnn… kind of…I picked it up when I was adventuring. Like I said, you can use it if you want to.”
Chu Yueli give it a thought and smiled. “I like it. Onee-san.” She used the term and her older sister instantly liked it. She expected it to be sound kind of cringe but never knew it fit so well. She owes it to Retsu for teaching her that part. She pats her sister’s head once more and spoke “You’re just so cute you know that.” Her words caused her little sister to blush even though she’s a full-grown woman. Looks like she’s still a girl or a woman on the inside and compliments tend to make them feel kind of giddy for a moment.
After a while, they started to calm down from their emotional breakdown and finally regained their composure. The ice heart might be gone but they prefer to feel this way from now on. Chu Yuechan still rubs her sister’s head softly before she decided to break the quiet moment between them. “By the way, you did say this Mihawk saved your life and even gave you all the treasures from the vault. What kind of person is he…?” She’s kind of interested of what kind of person would be so heaven defying and were able to beat those elders without blinking an eye. He even beat the elder from the Heavenly Sword Villa. She heard various news from the Asgard’s informant regarding the outside world and even heard it from her sister’s own mouth. It kind of sent the sect into a rumor spree about the rise of the great swordsman. A swordsman so powerful that he was technically unrivalled in the Sky Profound Realm range. Even the four great sects aren’t going to offend him especially after the rumor that he was engaging the Emperor Profound Realm from the Sacred Ground and managed to get out unscathed. However, she never expected that her sister is the one who met him in person and even saved her life. Even his name is foreign and the only one she knew had foreign terms but also heaven defying strength could only be him. Especially, the way he spoke at some time.
Is he and Mihawk are the same person? That would be impossible. Well, that Mihawk is almost the same age as her sister and that guy bȧrėly achieved 20 years old.
She thought.
Chu Yueli was taken aback when her sister asked her about Mihawk and her face instantly went red. Seeing her seem kind of flustered and her face turned red as a tomato, Chu Yuechan’s attention instantly darted “Yueli? Is there something wrong?”
Chu Yueli went flustered again but regain her composure as she spoke and this time with a genuine smile. “No, ummmm… he… I mean… he’s kind of nice. He saved my life twice and even boost my cultivation. I always thought men were kind of a scum on earth but he devoid that kind of aura. There are a few times he could take advantage of me, but he didn’t even do anything. He saved me from a dreadful moment and gave me all of these things in exchange for nothing. He never even thought of me as a burden and I didn’t even do anything to help him. Chu Yuechan widen her eyes as the way Yueli spoke almost reminds her of how she thought on that rascal of hers. She had a happy look on her face when she talks about this Mihawk.
Seeing Yueli blushed and smile at the same time draws a single conclusion. “Yueli… Are you in love with him?”
Hearing that word, Chu Yueli went flustered as she was sent into an emotional turmoil once more and she tried to defend herself. “No…no..no… I mean its forbidden for us to feel love. We could be crippled and expelled by the sect. I wouldn’t dare.”
Chu Yuechan gave it a thought for a moment, if she was her previous cold self, she would flipped when her sister fell in love with a man and or worse, find the man and kill him by herself but now that she felt such emotion as well, she decided to support it. Moreover, it is her duty to protect her from now on. IF that man tried to take advantage of her, she’ll know what to do. “Yueli…. You don’t have to hide it. It’s written all over your face. We’re sisters aren’t we. Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.”
“Muuu.. is it that obvious…” Chu Yueli had her cheeks turned red and immediately take this moment to shoot her sister’s question back at her. “Onee-san, don’t you think you have it too?”
“What are you talking about…?” Now, it was Chu Yuechan’s turn to be taken aback.
“Love….. You always looked at the same direction every day since you got back and had a blush on your cheeks. That look is not some admiration but longingness. You wanted to go there but you can’t because of the sect duties and position. I wouldn’t noticed it if it’s a one-time habit, but you did it almost every day before I left. I even wondered whether you were sick. Turns out, you’re love-sick” Chu Yueli relayed all her observation for the past few months cause the older sister to blush furiously. She was confident that all those habits of hers were done in silence and to think that her little sister noticed all of it. In the end, she gave up denying all of it and spoke “*Sigh… Yueli… you are kind of sharp for noticing things like that.”
“I am your sister after all.” Chu Yueli replied with pride on her ċhėst. The truth is…. she observed the same look came from Xia Qingyue when she was training her. After she was done training, she always looked towards the direction where the massive energy event almost two years ago. She did it almost every day. Despite being cold and expressionless, doing something like that every day will bound to get noticed. She had a suspicion that energy belong to her husband. A man called Yun Che. The one caused a bit of a ruckus these past few years. She never knew the cold Xia Qingyue had that kind of look on her face. Same as the expression her sister always show when staring at a certain direction.
“Hnnn… you’re kind of right…. guess I do make it a habit sometimes.” Chu Yuechan spoke with a smile. If it’s with her sister, she won’t mind sharing this kind of information with her, but she won’t share the name of the man who stole her heart especially the man himself had a wife in her sect. When she found out about her, she was kind of conflicted and shocked after she knew he had a wife named Xia Qingyue and almost owe him a beating for having Retsu and Cang Yue in his hands. Not to forget her as well. No wonder she possessed the same Heavenly God Spiritual Veins as hers but, she kind of sympathized him when she found out that Xia Qingyue left him on their wedding night. It was the laws of her sect after all.
Well, she didn’t know the whole story though, but she did smirk internally when she heard that he slapped all the faces of his clan when he first unleashed his first soul cultivator’s power during his wedding. It seems that her sister here doesn’t recognized Yun Che that much other than being the husband of her disciple and the man who caused ruckus a few times.
Yueli keep her feelings at bay before she spoke as she remembered the last time, she was severely punished by the sect master. It was excruciating. They’re only children but their foster mother beat them like they committed a great sin. That was the first and last time she’ll face her punishment. “Onee-san… we could get in trouble for this. Especially our feelings. We might get severely punished again.” Chu Yueli was afraid to let her feelings out as those feelings were forbidden in their sect or worse, she’ll be forced to re-cultivate that ice heart and seal her emotions. She didn’t or probably never wanted to lose this fluffy feeling with her sister ever again and her feelings for Mihawk.
Seeing her sister’s vulnerable and cute side, the older sister’s protective side of her suddenly sprout from the depths of her heart. “Don’t worry, your Onee-san here will protect you. Sect laws or not, if they dare to hurt you, I am strong enough to resist them.”
Chu Yueli had a puzzled look plastered on her face as she realized what she was talking about. “Ehhhh? You broke through again?”
The older sister nodded her head. “Hnnn…. I was planning to find you after that happened but when I sense you were coming back, I waited for you right here. I knew you would use this way to come back here instead of using the front gate.” However, when she holds her sister’s hand once more and closely examined her. She was immediately shocked. Her Observation haki finally broken through to advanced stage a week ago and she could sense her sister true cultivation just by touching her hand.
She swallowed a mouthful of saliva as she examined her sister’s cultivation. “Yueli…. You’re at the peak of Emperor Profound Realm? You even had the Heavenly God Spiritual Veins. How is this possible?” She’s now practically the same as her in terms of cultivation. Only a week passed, and she achieved this far. What kind of fortuitous encounter she found in that tomb? She took almost four months to breakthrough to this level, but her sister only took a week?
Both are now the strongest duo in their sect. Stronger than their sect masters and comrades by a large margin. Now, the sect has three Thrones. That’s more than enough to established them as the strongest sect in the empire. Moreover, she detected one more thing. Her aura is now the same as her. The situation where the ice heart shattered and evolved into new heights but only one man can destroy the ice heart indirectly. Could it be….
She met him?
Chu Yueli struggled herself to find a proper reply but, she decided to come clean about it in the end. “Hnnn… I was planning to tell you about it. Back in the tomb, Mihawk used some kind a miraculous skill to revive me back to full power. Onee-san, imagine being able to be revived back to a healed and complete after being crippled entirely. What kind of existence is he? I lost my profound veins, my ice heart and my powers during that fateful encounter with the elders but that guy jump in like a hawk and took them out in a blink of an eye. He saved my life, but I was possessed by a rogue soul in the final chamber due to my weak soul after being revived. I attacked him non-stop, but he managed to defeat me and destroyed the soul. He said to me that the soul tampered my body when I was possessed.”
She told her everything and Chu Yuechan had mixed feelings. A miraculous skill? Able to revive a person back to full power after being crippled. She never heard of a person who could use such a heaven defying skill. However, she had a strong feeling that she knew who this Mihawk is. A flashy manner in the tournament is just like what he would do. No, it couldn’t be him.
Then she continued “But, I did find it strange though.”
“What kind of strange?” Chu Yuechan’s attention suddenly pique.
Chu Yueli nodded her head and spoke “When I gained this cultivation, he said that I have no capabilities as an Emperor Profound Realm just yet as my veins were still in the Sky Profound Realm. So, he gave me this pill to open my veins large enough to support my powers. Onee-san, both of us might be on the same level but compared to you, I am still weak. I couldn’t even beat our foster mother right now let alone you.” She went into her own spatial ring and pulls out a similar pill like what she was given before her breakthrough in the hollow’s basin.
Too similar.
“This is…..” Chu Yuechan recognized the pill her sister shown her. It was the same pill she had before. The ones given to her by a certain person.
Seeing her reaction, the younger sister tilted her head again in a confuse manner and spoke “Onee-san, do you know what kind of pill this is?”
“Ahhh….no…. I never seen this pill before. What did he call it?” Chu Yuechan decided to play dumb as she knew this pill after all. It was the same pill he made and gave her before her cultivation breakthrough the bottleneck and ascend to the seventh level of the Emperor Profound Realm. Now, she had a really good idea who this Dracule Mihawk really is, but she needed more evidence. She did give her younger sister some of that person’s old pills that help her ascend to the peak of Sky Profound Realm in a span of few weeks. Seriously, those pills were too heaven defying. No wonder he asked her to keep a secret, but she can’t keep such luxury from her only sister.
Taking it as her first time seeing such pill, the younger sister answered….”As I remembered. He called it the Stabilization pill. I don’t know what it meant but he ordered me to consume it once a month until the energy inside me calms down. He said I need at least six months before I’ll breakthrough to the Tyrant Profound Realm.”
The older sister was highly suspicious of it. With a wry expression, she nodded her head while keeping her cool. “Is that so?, Yueli….. Don’t worry, I’ll help you with your breakthrough in the future. Did he give you anything else? Aside from the treasure ring?”
“Ahhh no, now that you mention it. He gave me this.” Chu Yueli suddenly lifted a sword from her side and show it to her elder sister. The curved sword type only he and his companion used. Such a beautiful sword and he gave it to her sister. A beautiful flower pattern hilt sword with a curved blade made and tailored especially for her, but the thing is….
Only one man and woman used that kind of sword type.
That’s it. There’s only one explanation.
Chu Yuechan suddenly flares her aura. Not the jealous or envy kind of aura but the aura that shows she wanted to beat some sense into someone but hides it behind a smile. Her sister seems to notice something, and she suddenly had a little fear in her expression…
The younger sister looked kind of worried and asked “Ummm…. Onee-san… Are you okay? You seem angry for some reason.”
Chu Yuechan instantly calms down and regains her ladylike appearance. She almost let out her anger just now. “Ahhh no, don’t worry dear sister. I am really thankful to the man that saved your life, but I felt annoyed with that man though.”
“I see….” She replied with a blank expression. She sighs but secretly hoped that her sister didn’t meet Mihawk for this or else she might be the one who will lose to him after knowing the full extent of his abilities.
Chu Yuechan pat her sister’s head once more caused her to purr in her ċhėst but at the same time she spoke internally. “Ufufufufu…. I thought you went straight to the capital city but instead you’re in this tomb fooling around with my sister. You saved her life but also gave her a lot of things, but you only gave me some skills. Aren’t you belittle me a little too much?”
“Ufufufu….. When I find you, you better expect some beatings, you rascal.”
………………
Inside a certain small house in a hidden realm, a young man suddenly sudden chills along his spine as he prepared to face what comes next. A chill he hadn’t felt in a long time. A feeling that might get him in trouble.
One of his companions looks at him with a worried expression as she never seen him this pale before. “Danna-sama, are you okay? You look pale for some reason.”
“I don’t know, I feel like I am about to get in trouble for something I did. It’s a funny feeling but I feel like I am about to get beat up and I can’t even resist it.”
