Rebirth In Kurokonobasket - Chapter 125
The four returned to their dorm rooms together, Shun and Ming were on the second floor, whereas Bruno was on the third floor, and Douglas was staying on the first floor.
Ming and Shun walked to their room. They saw that the door of the room in front of their room was open.
Shun looked at Ming and said.
Shun: “Hey, let’s look to see who moved in.”
Ming sighed as he followed behind Shun.
Ming: “He is really like an excited child in a new space.”
Shun didn’t enter the room but knocked on the door.
A person peaked out of the room and saw Shun.
???: “Yes?”
Shun smiled and pointed at his room and said.
Shun: “We are your neighbors.”
???: “We?”
At that moment, Ming came into view and waved his hand.
Ming: “Hey.”
The person waved his hand back and said.
???: “Come on inside.”
Shun and Ming looked at each other and headed inside the room.
Shun extended his hand and introduced himself.
Shun: “Hi, my name is Kageyama Shun. I am from Japan. My first name is Shun, so please use that.”
Shun pointed at Ming and continued.
Ming looked at the person and greeted him.
Ming: “My first name is Ming, so feel free to use that.”
The person shook Shun and Ming’s hand and introduced himself.
???: “My name is Roger Mael. I am from France. It’s a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you.”
Roger Mael, had wavy light brown hair with matching colored eyes. He had a soft, relaxed smile on his face as he talked to Shun and Ming.
Roger: “So, what position do you guys play? I play center.”
Shun responded to the question.
Shun: “We both play Point Guard.”
Roger nodded and looked at Ming, who asked.
Roger nodded and said.
Roger: “Yeah, he went to have some food. I wasn’t hungry, so I didn’t join him.”
Ming titled his head and said.
Ming: “Huh, we are just returning from the cafeteria. We must have passed him.”
They talked for a while before Roger ended the conversation by saying.
Roger: “Now, if you would excuse me. I want to take a shower.”
Shun nodded and said.
Shun: “Oh yeah, you just arrived. Get some rest. We are just in front of your room, knock if you want anything.”
With that, Shun and Ming returned to their room.
Shun was on the floor of his room, doing pushups.
Ming, who was reading a book, looked at him asked.
Ming: “Shun, you stop at the top of your pushup. Why do you do that?”
Shun glanced at Ming and let his knees touch the floor. He sat on his knees and replied.
Shun: “Most people don’t do pushups properly. Even if you have the form right, and follow the correct posture, they always forget one important part of a pushup.”
Ming sat up on his bed and asked.
Ming: “And, what is that?”
Shun removed his shirt, underneath was a white vest. He showed his back to Ming and pointed at his shoulder blades.
Shun: “Most people only do half a pushup and don’t protrude their shoulder blades at the top of the pushup.”
At that time, both of them heard a knock on the door.
Shun, who was on the floor, crawled forward to see who it was.
At the door, he saw Roger standing with another person with him.
Shun: “Roger, come on in.”
Shun stood up from the floor and put his shirt back on.
Shun pointed at the chairs of the study tables and said.
Shun: “Pull them out and sit. Make yourselves home.”
Roger and the other person pulled the chairs and sat near Ming and Shun’s beds.
Roger gestured at the person with him and introduced him.
The other person nodded and introduced himself.
???: “Rafael García. I am from Spain. Nice to meet you.”
[A/N: Roger Mael and Rafael Garcia aren’t to be mistaken for Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It was a total coincidence on the naming part.
Their appearances are in the AUX chapter. Please check them out.]
Shun and Ming introduced themselves to Rafael.
Ming looked at Rafael and asked.
Ming: “So, Rafael, what position do you play?”
Rafael turned to Ming and solely replied.
Rafael: “Power Forward.”
The four continued to talk, and while Shun, Ming, and Roger were active in the conversation, Rafael stayed silent.
The weird thing was that Shun would look at Rafael for a moment and then give Rafael input for him, and Rafael would nod to confirm.
Roger and Ming looked at Shun and Rafael. Ming asked his roommate.
Ming: “Shun, how can you understand what Rafael is saying without him actually saying it.”
Shun looked at Ming and replied with a broad smile on his face.
Shun: “I have a silent senior on my team back home. So, I learned to perceive what he said. Rafael is similar, so it is nothing new to me.”
Ming chuckled and spoke.
Ming: “Shun, you are a person with strange skills.”
Shun and Ming found out that Rafael was eighteen, and Roger was seventeen years old. It was both of their first time at this camp.
So, Shun and Ming told them about the first day sorting test that they learned from Bruno.
After listening to Shun and Ming, Roger put a hand on his chin and said.
Roger: “That means the five-on-five game would be the most important event in the test.”
Rafael nodded to that and then looked at Shun and motioned.
Shun nodded and asked.
Shun: “Rafael asks that when would they take this test?”
Ming squinted his eyes and replied.
Ming: “Well, the camp officially starts the day after tomorrow, so I am guessing first thing on that day.”
Roger added his own guess.
Roger: “The physical and technical tests in the morning, and the five-on-five maybe after or just before lunch.”
Shun nodded and said.
Shun: “That makes sense.”
Ming looked thoughtful for a moment and asked Shun.
Ming: “Hey, Shun. You have a chaperone, don’t you?”
Shun nodded and asked.
Shun: “Yeah, why?”
Ming smiled and said.
Ming: “Well, we have the day off tomorrow, so I thought if we all could go see the city. Your chaperone could come with us, and we would have no problem with the organizers.”
He looked at Roger and Rafael and asked.
Ming: “Would you guys come?”
They both thought for a while and nodded.
Shun smiled and spoke.
Shun: “Okay, I will ask.”
Shun dialed Hattori’s number and asked him. After the call, he turned to the group and announced with a smile.
Shun: “We will be touring Los Angeles after breakfast tomorrow.”
