Rebirth In Super Gene - Chapter 5
The bear was eying Han Sen as he approached at a slow pace. It waited till he was only a dozen yards away before it lunged forward, swinging its paw with the intent of swashing the puny creature that had hurt hit.
But it ran into a problem. The moment the paw smashed down on Han Sen, he dispersed into nothing, leaving nothing but a newly formed crater and dust.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Out of nowhere, the bear had been knocked to the side, breaking trees as its body was hit by something. That something was natural Han Sen. The moment the bear lunged earlier, he used shunpo to appear by its side.
He was so fast he had made a speed clone of himself, tricking the bear into thinking he hadn’t moved from his original spot due to the clone having its own presence.
When he appeared in the air next to his side, he began coating his fist in busoshoku haki. His arms became pitch black with a red tint, with a flame-like pattern forming at the edge of the coating. That exact second he unleashed three jabs.
If you could see it from a distance, it would almost look comical. Something so small, punching at something so big. It was like a mouse boxing an elephant.
But as small as he was, Han Sen’s blows were packing some horrifying power. Each blow stopped a short distance away from the bear’s body before unleashing three invisible bursts that smashed so hard into the SUV-sized bear that it pushed it into the trees.
By this time, Han Sen had landed back on the ground. He was listening to Raphael analyze the bear using universal detect and report back the results of his three punches.
[This sacred-blood bear was able to significantly reduce the damage of the punch by dispersing the force into its body fat. Therefore, I suggest using internal destruction to effectively kill it.]
‘Yeah, that seems to be the only way. If I just keep punching it with emission, it’ll take a lot to get through all that god damn body-fat.’
ROAR!
“Oh, be quiet, you fat son of a bitch. Since you still have enough energy to roar, let’s up the ante.”
Just as the bear was about to get back on its feet, Han Sen struck again. Again, he used shunpo and appeared right behind its hind leg and hit it in its popliteal fossa. But, instead of using emission and stopping before he made contact, he had made sure his fist made contact with its tough hide.
It was a split second later that the creatures’ knee cap exploded in a shower of blood. Its body fell back to the ground with a loud thud. Its mobility had been drastically decreased as its hind leg became disabled.
But Han Sen wasn’t done just yet. Before the bear even could release a pained-filled roar, he’d was on the back raining down a stream of blows on the part of its neck that was covered with bone.
His leisure attitude had been wiped away, replaced by a more serious one. He would alternate using emission and internal destruction with each jab, overwhelming its body from the inside out with force. Causing boom after boom to continuously be heard in the area, scaring off all the weaker creatures.
The bear, as much as it wanted, couldn’t do anything to stop its attacker. He was too fast for it. In that same instant, its knee was destroyed; he was already hammering away at the back of its neck.
Its body could only disperse so much force. Once it reached a certain point, its skin would explode, which would be fatal. That wasn’t even accounting for how damaged its insides were. To put it simply, its windpipe had already ruptured along with its inner skeleton being crushed more and more into dust.
And after what seemed like minutes, while in reality seconds had passed, did the cold monotone voice speak in his head.
“Sacred-blood boned ursus killed. Beast soul of sacred-blood creature boned Ursus gained. Eat it’d meat to gain zero to ten geno points randomly.”
He glanced inside his sea of consciousness where a few dozen beast souls resided. They ranged from ordinary all the way to mutant. He’d obtained these beast souls earlier after massacring the wildlife in the foothills while he was still searching for a sacred-blood creature. But he ignored those and looked at the newest addition to his collection.
Type of beast soul of sacred-blood bonded: Shapeshifting.
‘Hm, as lucky as this is, It’s useless to me. However, I could probably sell it for an S-class license. Maybe Martial Hall has added something else since the last time I checked their catalogs.’
While thinking of this, he was using Beelzebuth to suck the large bear carcass into his stomach. After he started universal detect, making sure he hadn’t missed anything. Seeing nothing was missed, he left.
Han Sen began to travel in the general direction of the Steel Armor Shelter. He planned on making a makeshift camp a reasonable distance away from the shelter. First, however, he had a few things he wanted to test before eating the sacred-blood creature.
With that, his speed drastically increased. He wanted to already be setting up camp before it got dark.
—————
After an hour or so had passed, Han Sen had finally stopped using shunpo and allowed himself to lightly land in a large clearing. The clearing was a few minutes away from the Steel Armor Shelter. Well, it was for Han Sen using shunpo. For others, it might be an hour or longer, depending on their fitness index.
He took the trees, stripped them, and began to cut them into small logs. He took one of them and used it as something to sit on. He took another portion to start a bonfire, and for the rest, he put them into his stomach for later use. It might be a point where he needed to start a fire, with no trees around.
Anyway, Han Sen was trying to figure out if the system would register the bodies he ate inside his stomach. If it did, his existence within the sanctuaries would be completely broken. As it was eating the creatures in the sanctuary, that was the hardest. But with Beelzebuth, he could devour almost anything instantly using corrosion.
So he tried devouring one of the ordinary creatures he had first. He activated corrosion, and in the next moment, a wide grin bloomed on his face.
“Woodland gecko eaten. One ordinary geno point gained.”
“Woodland gecko eaten. One ordinary geno point gained.”
“Woodland gecko eaten. One ordinary geno point gained.”
“Woodland gecko eaten. One ordinary geno point gained.”
“Woodland gecko eaten. One ordinary geno point gained.”
“Woodland gecko eaten. One ordinary geno point gained.”
Han Sen glanced at the rest of the bodies in his stomach, wondering just how many geno points he would get after using corrosion on all of them.
