Rebirth: Never Live Up to You - C16
“Hehe ~ ~ Warm, I miss you.” Seven years. After seven years, he finally saw it again. The oath he had sworn that year still rang in his ears, but it felt like it was only yesterday.
“I’m sorry. Please call me Mrs. Chi.” Never before had it seemed to him that Mrs. Chi’s hat was being used in such a way as not to hear his warm, obscure words and to correct his address.
“It won’t be for long. I said that when I rise again, I will come back and marry you.”
“So what? Lin Jingsheng, you’re too confident. Do you think that nothing has changed in these seven years? You’re wrong, the human heart is the easiest thing to change.”
A trace of pain flashed across Lin Jingsheng’s eyes. His slender legs moved in front of him. They were separated by only a table, “Warm, I only came back to retrieve what belongs to me.”
His eyes sparkled with confidence, like a hunter announcing his prey. Su Wangjing laughed softly, and the faint dimples of tears bloomed on the corner of his mouth. As wonderful as it was back then, he reached out and took her hand from the table, holding it tightly in his palm.
She frowned and scolded, “Let go.”
“You belong to me.”
He hated him the most for his unperturbed look, and hated him even more for his self-righteous understanding. He reached out to grab the fruit juice beside his hand and splashed it onto his palm, seizing the opportunity.
Disbelief flashed in Lin Jingsheng’s eyes. He allowed the red juice to flow across his face and drip it onto his white shirt. Even though he was in a sorry state, no one dared to underestimate him, “Warm.”
“Do you have anything else to say? Do you want to tell me how much Boss Lin is currently worth, or do you want to tell me about your achievements?”
Su Wenjin admitted that he would tear apart her mask every time he came into contact with her, screaming like a shrew. All of this was due to him. He had given her a world, but he had turned it upside down himself, pulling her down from the clouds and throwing her into the mud.
“You just look at me like that. Warmth, just look at me and say it.” Lin Jingsheng got up and pushed her back into the chair. Her handsome face was gradually filled with anger and gloom. She kept fighting and struggling, and then she bit his arm. He let her bite him without saying a word, but he didn’t let her go.
Afterwards, she was tired and stopped kicking. Her eyes gradually regained their clarity as she calmly said, “Mister Lin, can you let me go?”
Lin Jingsheng slowly closed his eyes and finally released them.
Su Wenjin handed over a few tissues to him. Seeing the joy in his eyes, he continued, “I’m really sorry, Mr. Lin. I was a little agitated just now. Welcome back. I will gather with Chi Yinan when I have time.”
Without waiting for him to speak, she continued, “It’s getting late, it’s time for me to go back. Goodbye.”
Not giving him any chance, she quickly left the scene with her bag, walking faster and faster until she reached the elevator. Luckily, he didn’t chase her.
He took out the mirror in his bag and looked at the woman inside. Luckily, she wasn’t weak to the point of tears, this wasn’t her style.
Lin Jingsheng took off his jacket. He was still wearing the shirt dyed with fruit juice. He leaned against the window with the wine cup and watched the white figure walk out and stand by the side of the road. Then, he hailed a taxi and left without looking back.
