Rebirth Of An 8000 Years Old Mage - 10 Youth Tournamen
“Before the tournament begins, I would like to announce a change of rules this year.” Hearing the man on top of the balcony, everyone retreated in silent.
The man then continued to say, “This year aside from the usual rewards, the top five participants will also be eligible to join Thunderbolt Academy. First place will also be rewarded with a C-Class elemental breast armour.”
Hearing that, the crowd quickly burst out in chatters.
“Did I hear that right? Top five and you can join Thunderbolt Academy?!”
“C-Class elemental beast armour?! That’s worth at least 50 C-Class Elemental coins!”
“Thunderbolt Academy is very generous this year!”
Everyone was fired up after hearing the potential rewards. The descendants from the three major families of DongHe are lusting for the beast armour.
Majority of the participants came from a poorer family and they could not afford resources to level themselves up, so many people are still E-Class. But even so, they still wanted to try reaching the top ten and to gain the reward associated with it. They might even be able to join Thunderbolt Academy this year if reaching the top five.
Due to a large number of participants, multiple matches are set out simultaneously to eliminate as many people as possible. So it didn’t take long before Xiao Yang was called up to the stage.
“Number 888 vs number 657”
The opponent that Xiao Yang is fighting against is an E-Class fire element mage, who seem keen to mock him, “You are Xiao Yang? Seems like today is your unlucky day”
Soon after he said that he started to cast a stream of fire towards Xiao Yang’s throat, but Xiao Yang counter-attack by casting a blast of anguish wind. Like leaves against a leaf blower, the mage was blown off the stage and almost burning himself.
“D-Class?!” Zhang Yuxi couldn’t help but exclaim.
It wasn’t just her, everyone who watched Xiao Yang winning the match also had the same reaction. They then dismissed the idea and thought his opponent was just left off guard.
However, they were soon proven wrong after Xiao Yang defeated opponents after opponents by blowing them off the stage.
It was too hard to believe that Xiao Yang could actually have the sufficient resources to become a D-Class mage, they all knew he was the bastard’s son from the Qian family.
“How is he this strong?! Did the Qian family provided him with elemental potions?”
“It must be them, there’s no way he could get this strong without the Qians.”
“They must be using him to show off their powers! Look at his movements, that must be a high-class technique!”
Elders from the Qian family was even more surprised, they knew clearly that they themselves had not provided any resources to him, but just how did he reach D-Class?
“Xiao Yang must have stumbled across a treasure! We must confiscate it from him, how dare Qian Xian hidden this from us, it seems like she hadn’t had enough of the family discipline.” One of the Qian family’s elder barked out.
Among the observers was Xiao Yang’s mum, Qian Xian looked at her son with conflicted emotions. She felt happy watching her son winning the matches, but she’s confused to when he had gotten this strong.
…
“Number 859 vs number 888”
When they saw each other, they were both surprised. Turns out the opponent that Xiao Yang was fighting against was the same person who claimed to beat Xiao Yang up if they encounter each other.
But after seeing Xiao Yang’s performance in the previous matches, his confidence of beating him up is close to nout.
“Weren’t you going to beat me up” Xiao Yang held his hand out.
The young man cleared his throat and with a low tone he said, “This is not fair, you have the Qian family to back you up and now you bullying us commoners”
“The world was never fair in the first place” Xiao Yang coldly said, threw a punch towards his face.
The young man is only an E-Class mage, his strength was too low to take Xiao Yang’s punch, and so he was quickly knocked off the stage. The young man landed on the ground, with a bleeding nose.
It wasn’t long before many people got disqualified and the fight for the top five had begun. It was too easy for Xiao Yang to beat his opponents, even those who are in D-Class as most had never practised any martial arts.
The descendants from the three major families did not need to fight to get to the top ten, all they needed to do is fight for the top five. They only need to make sure Xiao Yang and the few commoners who made it to the end doesn’t take the top five places then they are all set on going to Thunderbolt Academy.
When the match had begun, the few commoners that made it to the end with Xiao Yang were quickly defeated by the decedents of the three major families.
It was now Xiao Yang’s turn and his opponent was Qian Lee, the one who poisoned Xiao Yang. Xiao Yang wanted to kill him, but the rules forbid any killings.
Even if Xiao Yang had defeated him, he will still remain in rank 5 and will still be able to go to Thunderbolt Academy.
“Never had I thought a bastard’s son would actually reach the top five.” Qian Lee sneered.
Xiao Yang paid no heed to him and simply just pulled out two daggers.
“Ha-ha! Do you think those cheap daggers will be able to penetrate by the iron body?” Qian Lee’s elemental power is able to transform his out layer of his body into iron.
Once transformed his strength will increase at the cost of speed. He would be as tough as iron but also as heavy as iron, it would be difficult for him to move without a good fitness level.
Qian Lee was also a D-Class mage, so his strength should be around 80 bulls and with iron body activated his strength could increase up to 100 bulls. A person that hasn’t awaken their element has a strength of only 5 bulls and E-Class average around 40 bulls.
Qian Lee activated his iron body and roared at Xiao Yang like a wild beast.
Xiao Yang’s strength may not be comparable with Qian Lee’s when he has an iron body activated, but his speed has surpassed Qian Lee’s.
‘Wind Slash’
-Ching! Ching! Ching!
Xiao Yang dashed around back and forth, using his daggers he continuously cut toward Qian Lee from all direction.
With Xiao Yang’s speed, Qian Lee found himself unable to counter-attack. Every time the daggers collided onto his skins, a light mark was left on the surface. The impact was so loud that it sounded like someone was pouring a pile of coins onto the floor.
