Rebirth Of An 8000 Years Old Mage - 33 Golems
“Umm… Thank You. I will return this favor in the future.” Fang Qiong’s cheeks became slightly pink, but Xiao Yang didn’t notice it and just replied, “There’s no need since we are friends.”
Xiao Yang didn’t care for anything else, as long as they don’t betray him, then he was going to keep treating them well.
“Xiao Yang! Fang Qiong!” Qian Fei shouted as she and Dong Zhou ran up to them.
They were both worried after the sandstorm suddenly appeared and completely covered their view, but they felt relief after seeing that their two friends were unscathed.
“Are you two hurt anywhere?” Dong Zhou asked.
“We are fine, the scorpions had already been taken care of by Xiao Yang” Fang Qiong nodded.
After the incident, Xiao Yang had retreated into his own thought for a bit, he felt kind of bad for almost failing to protect his team members. It was thanks to his ‘Divine Eyes’ ability, otherwise, with his current speed, Fang Qiong would have been dead long ago.
He had to keep reminding himself that he is no longer the invincible, Grandmaster Chen. He could no longer act so carelessly like he used to otherwise he could put himself in serious danger or even worse, the people close to him.
‘Am I too impulsive?’ He asked himself in his head.
“Hm? Brother Chen are you alright?” Qian Fei asked after noticing that he was spaced out.
“Ah yes I’m fine, should we continue to the tower?” Xiao Yang asked.
They all looked at each other, then with a determined face, and nodded in unison. They weren’t harmed in any way so far and the creatures can be easily killed as long as they do it quick enough before it uses its elemental power.
Xiao Yang quickly cut open the only remaining scorpion’s body and extracted out the elemental core, then they all entered the sandstone tower.
Upon entry, they found themselves in a wide circular empty space, there was no furniture or anything, only rubbles and a stair headed straight to the second floor.
Xiao Yang’s Divine eyes were unable to detect any elemental readings on the first floor, so it was safe to presume that there weren’t any hidden creatures around.
“We should make our way to the next floor.” Fang Qiong said after looking around thoroughly.
The rest nodded in response and started heading up the stairs one by one. They still kept their guards on and with their swords drawn out to ready for any possible threats.
Slowly and cautiously they found themselves onto the second floor, unlike the first floor, there were two sandstone statues of an identical golem holding a spear. The statues were about three meters tall, they were looked to be inanimate and was guarding the stairs to the next floor with their spears crossed against each other.
Seeing how inanimate and unresponsive the statues are upon their arrival, the others began to walk forward towards the statue.
“No stop! Don’t go near them!” Xiao Yang shouted.
They were all startled by his sudden words, they were unable to detect any life-force on both of the statues, so why did he shout in such a rush?
“Brother Chen, what is it?” Qian Fei asked nervously, they all took a few steps back away from the statues.
“The statues are alive.” Even though he couldn’t detect any life-force, but his Divine Eyes are able to detect that the statues have a large elemental force emitting from it. That was enough for him to determine that the statues were not normal and that it was something dangerous.
“Alive…? But there doesn’t seem to be any life-force being emitted from it.” Qian Fei and the others’ face turned grim, if it was true then they could have fallen into a trap unknowingly.
Xiao Yang stepped forward, with his sword in hand he utilized ‘Wind Breath’ to generate two sword breath towards the two statues.
The two statues took the hit without any resistance and instantly shattered into sands. There was no movement or any sign that shows the statue being alive, but Xiao Yang was able to tell that the elemental force was still there and that he also didn’t get any announcement by the system of any killings.
The rest all looked confused, the statue didn’t resist the attack and was instantly shattered just like any normal statues would, but then the remaining pile of sands that was left from the statues suddenly floated up into the air then eventually moulded itself into two large statues, they were identical to the previous ones.
“What is happening? Is actually alive?” As soon as Qian Fei said that, the two golem statues began to move towards them.
Xiao Yang utilized his ‘Wind Breath’ technique again, but this time the sword breath went through the statues instead and the statue remained unharmed. It looked as if the statue had suddenly turned its body into sand for a second.
No matter what technique Xiao Yang used, the attacks would just go through its body and the statues won’t even get harmed a bit. Dong Zhou tried swinging his sword at the statues, but it seems that even his A-Class King Tier sword became useless against them.
The statue seems to be infuriated by it and so it suddenly swung its large solid arm towards Dong Zhou’s chest. Even though the statue’s speed is slow, Dong Zhou was extremely close to it and it was already too late for him to pull back.
Luckily he used his sword to block the attack and absorbed most of its power, but he was still launched across into a wall and coughed out a mouthful of blood.
“Damn it, why is it so tough?” Dong Zhou gritted his teeth and did his best to use his sword to support him up from the ground.
