Rebirth Of An 8000 Years Old Mage - 36 Ruckus Among The Public.
Its been over two months since that incident had taken place, and the headless body of the S-Class mage had finally been discovered by his subordinates.
When the body was taken back to the Tai Empire to inspect, the body had already been rotten along time ago and many of its flesh had already been devoured by wild beasts. There was no evidence left on the body that may suggest the man be murdered by a weapon.
King Ping, who is the self-proclaimed king of the Tai Empire was infuriated by the news, the death of an S-Class mage was a huge loss for the empire. Throughout the Tai Empire, there are only three S-Class mages, himself and Commander Li are the only remaining S-Classes.
If not for the protection of the Song-Min Continent, other continents and empires would have already taken the chance to invade them.
“Execute all of them!” King Ping slammed his fist on the throne and ordered the execution of all of the subordinates that was under the command of the dead commander.
“Your majesty, please have mercy!” The subordinates pleaded but were quickly taken away by the soldiers.
King Ping looked toward Commander Li and angrily asked, “Is there any news of my traitorous nephew yet?!”
Commander Li bowed and replied, “Not yet, your majesty. Prince San seemed to be still hiding within Thunderbolt Academy, I have already ordered my men to monitor the city gate.”
“Mhm, kill him as soon as you have the chance. I will be going into seclusion soon to breakthrough to SS-Class, so don’t disturb me unless it’s absolutely necessary.” King Ping stood up and started leaving the meeting hall.
Just before he left, he turned around and said, “Also investigate the death of our S-Class mage.”
Commander Li bowed to acknowledge his request.
…
Back in Thunderbolt City, the news of an S-Class mage had unexpectedly leaked throughout the city.
The high elders advised everyone not to leave the city if it is not an urgent matter, they feared that an S-Class portal or higher had broken out and the beasts had been out hunting humans, so they had also sent out a few elders to hunt them down.
For the time being, everyone is remaining caution and followed the advice of the high elders of not leaving the city, as long as they remain within the city wall, they will be 100% safe from all possible threats unless the portal broken out was beyond an SS-Class.
Xiao Yang was the only one who knew that the death of that S-Class mage was not due to a high-class portal outbreak. He wasn’t worried that the death of the S-Class mage would trace back to him though, as many people would have left Thunderbolt City at that time, and the majority of them were much more powerful than him, but in order to not get suspicious he himself had also refrained from leaving the city for the time being.
So for the past months, he had been absorbing the elemental beast cores that he obtained from the last portal attack, he managed to acquire a total of 80 C-Class elemental points.
It was a school holiday ad so the group decided to meet up again in town.
“Brother Chen, do you think the elders will be able to find those powerful beasts?” Qian Fei asked.
Xiao Yang calmly replied, “I hope so, the lives of the nearby villagers now lies on their hands.”
Dong Zhou also added in by saying, “Ever since that the news of a dead S-Class mage nearby, many supplies that were scheduled to be delivered to Thunderbolt City had been halted.”
“Yea, the prices in the city had dramatically inflated as a result. If they don’t hunt it down quickly then the price would just continue to rise.” Fang Qiong nodded.
After hearing that, Xiao Yang thought for a minute. He didn’t care for the death of the S-Class mage causing a massive ruckus about some powerful beasts in the loose, but he didn’t want the innocent people to suffer in the City.
The rich may not suffer from sudden price inflation, but the people from a poor family would surely will. They were already struggling to keep up with their living expenses, but now the price had suddenly increased if the problem isn’t fixed soon enough then many would risk of going into poverty.
‘Ah damn it… I was too impulsive again, never had I thought it would be such a mess!’ He had killed many people in his past and present life, but this was his first time regretting it.
Xiao Yang thought about it then said to himself, ‘They just need to know that there is no powerful portal breakout then everything will go back to normal.’
“Hey, why don’t you guys go to eat together? I just realised that I have some that I need to take care off.” Xiao Yang said with a wry smile while scratching the back of his head.
“Is it really that important?” Qian Fei pouted.
“Yea, sorry… It’s really important. I must go now, see you guys next time.” Xiao Yang quickly turned around and left.
“Ha-ha, If Brother Chen says it is important then it must be. We should get going before all of the seats are taken.” Dong Zhou politely held his hand out to lead the direction.
The three of them arrived at the same Dim Sum restaurant that they went last time and ordered their favourite dishes.
“You two are Brother Chen’s childhood friend, so you must know the training he does to become this powerful right?” Dong Zhou suddenly asked curiously.
The two looked at each other then shock their head, Qian Fei replied, “I have known him my entire life, but never have I witness him training himself.”
Qian Fei and Fang Qiong were also wanted to know the answer too, Fang Qiong had heard many rumours about Xiao Yang since childhood, but all of them talks about how he is no different to a trash and a leach of the Qian Family.
Dong Zhou frowned then asked, “He must have some sort of special training right? Or maybe a master that helped train him.”
After hearing that, Qian Fei suddenly realised something and replied, “Right! I heard from Brother Chen that he met a powerful master for passed on his techniques to him.”
Dong Zhou suddenly brighten up and quickly asked, “By any chance, you know that master’s name?”
“Brother Chen said that his master never gave him a name.” Qian Fei said with a wry smile.
Dong Zhou thought for a minute then asked another question, “I know that Brother Chen currently lives with his mother in Thunderbolt City, but what about his father?”
