Rebirth of the Nameless Immortal God - Chapter 2299: Who
The First White Mother’s attackers were stunned. Why was an island falling from the skies? Where had it come from?
Suddenly thinking of the First White Mother’s words before it descended, a terrible premonition overwhelmed them.
At that moment, Gilpin snorted. “Just a small piece of land not even a thousand kilometers across. It would take just a single slash.”
His golden sword vibrated with unhindered brilliance. For such a task, he didn’t even believe that his silver sword was needed. He was confident. Just one stroke was enough.
A blinding ray of golden light followed the swing of his sword, shooting up into the skies without hindrance. It seemed for a moment that it would continue, reaching through the clouds and towards the stars. As for the island it would pierce through? Nothing but mere child’s play.
However, the reality was cruel to the high elf. Absolutely nothing happened.
There were no shields that manifested to block the blow. There was no loud booming collision. There wasn’t even the sound of rock splitting into two.
At first, Gilpin thought that this island was even weaker than he originally assumed. The best explanation he could think of was that his sword qi had gone through so easily that it only appeared to be whole while the island had already been torn in two.
But then, the seconds began to pass one after another. To an Immortal God, the concept of time was quite an odd one. In normal day to day life, even a 100 years would feel like the blink of an eye. However… In battle, a single seconds could be as much as ages.
So, to Gilpin, the ticking away of the seconds made him feel as though his heartbeat had stilled, as though the world had slowed to a crawl, and even more exaggeratedly, that time had stopped completely.
He realized then that he couldn’t have been more wrong. He hadn’t split through the island at all. In fact, his strike had been so insignificant that it was akin to a needle falling into a vast ocean.
His face reddened with anger, but his expression could only change once more.
If this island continued to descend like this and they couldn’t break through… wouldn’t they be crushed to death?!
“Scatter!” Jeanna roared, a pair of fiery red wings sprouting from her back as she flashed to the side at her greatest speed. All she could think about was leaving the range of the island.
No matter how infuriating Gilpin was on occasion, he was exceptionally powerful, nonetheless. To be unable to leave even a scratch on such a small piece of land left them all speechless.
The only one who seemed to have a smile on her face was the First White Mother. Even though she too dashed off to the side, a bit worried that her senior brother would crush her to death, her smile only grew brighter and brighter.
BANG!
The island crashed into the land below, squashing what remained of the Elvin army into flattened bit of blood and gore. Gilpin watched on with an ugly expression, his rage bubbling within his heart.
Compared to the size of the army, the amount that the First White Mother had taken out with her palm strikes had still been acceptable. However, the destruction caused by the island was far beyond just its size. There was a forcefield so potent around it that just the air pressure from its descent killed swaths of Immortal Law experts.
Is this a final trump card of the Time and Space Immortal God?
This was what all those who had been jointly attacking the First White Mother believed. However, when they finally saw what was on top of the island, they were left speechless. How was this a trump card….?
There was absolutely nothing. It was a flat piece of land that went as far as the eye could see. And, to Immortals, seeing to the end wasn’t a problem at all. From edge to edge to edge, there was nothing but a dull greyish black land. Maybe the only thing somewhat unique about it was how uniform and perfect the land was. Let alone a crack, it didn’t even seem like a single speck of dirt was out of place.
The bland land left them so stunned that they almost didn’t notice that there was a singular young man standing at the very center.
He had looks handsome beyond compare. Brownish-gold hair highlighted with a touch of gold. Deep hazel-green eyes. A strong jaw and a nose with a perfect slope. His skin radiated a dull dark gold that didn’t seem to come from a special power, but was rather a natural light bestowed upon him. It could be said that this young man was perfect in every way. Or… rather would be perfect if his clothes weren’t so common.
He wore a baggy pair of pants made of a soft fabric. As though feeling that this wasn’t casual enough, he even rolled it up to his calves, revealing his bare feet. His torso was adorned by a plain white shirt that was untouched by impurities, fluttering in the wind every so often to show a hint of his toned chest.
He was truly uncaring and casual beyond compare as though everything in the world was beneath his notice. Maybe he would even yawn if it wasn’t for his deep cultivation.
“Ah, how nostalgic.” The young man muttered, sweeping a casual glance over the battlefield. He didn’t seem to have eyes for the Immortal Gods around him at all.
“Big brother!”
The First White Mother shouted out excitedly, dashing toward the island without a care and diving into the young man’s embrace.
The young man smiled for the first time, rubbing the First White Mother’s head as though he really was a big brother doting on his little sister.
However, when his hand came back coated in blood, his expression darkened.
As though reading his emotions, a clap of thunder rang in the skies as the atmosphere of the Time and Space bubble world quickly reformed after the island shattered it.
“Who did this to you?”
His voice was deep and rumbling. When it entered the ears of others, they felt as though their whole bodies were vibrating along with the rhythm of his words. It felt no different than a God passing judgment from on high.
The First White Mother looked up at the young man with pitiful eyes. Her irises, shimmering a beautiful white, glistened with unshed tears. She looked no different from a little girl who had been wronged.
“Big brother, you must seek justice for me.
“That ugly dragon over there hit me 10 382 times and even punched my breasts several times.” Without hesitation, the First White Mother began to list off her grievances, first pointing toward the Dragon Patriarch.
Her arm swung and her finger pointed again, aiming toward the two Phoenix Supreme Grand Elders.
“Those two ostriches hit me 17 391 times between them and even burnt off three meters worth of my hair.”
Then she pointed toward Gilpin.
“That damned female crossdresser actually attacked my favorite city. They had bakeries that made the most delicious pastries, just like Big Sister Saru used to make them, but now it’s all razed to the ground. I beat him up, but then he called his friends to help bully me!”
Gilpin’s expression grew ugly. His face was quite delicate, but most people called him handsome. When did he become a female crossdresser?
The First White Mother’s grievances seemed endless. She listed them off one after another without regard for the looks of the Immortal Gods around her.
The young man silently listened to her from start to finish, taking her every word with the utmost seriousness. The more she spoke, the gloomier his expression became and the denser form his killing intent took. By the end, those around felt as though they were standing in a quagmire of rage. Let alone move, they found it difficult even to take a single breath.
After the First White Mother finished, the young man’s left hand raised into the air. An impossible torrent of soul qi washed forth, swirling around his wrist, palm and fingers and miniature arrays formed beneath his commands.
Soon, a pill formed and he handed it to the First White Mother, patting her head again with a doting expression.
She gobbled the pill up like a little kid. Under the shocked expressions of the Immortal Gods, her injuries began to heal at an impossible pace. Just what kind of casually made pill could possibly heal an Immortal God so easily?!
It was only then that the Immortal Gods finally got over their shock and focused their gazes on the young man. It didn’t take long for them to recognize him.
Dyon Sacharro! The young man who just defeated Immortal God Nazaire and concocted a Peak Immortal God pill!
However… What was his relationship with the First White Mother…? Why was she calling him big brother….?
“…You…” Gilpin trembled. His grip weakened on his swords, causing them to fall to the ground completely out of his control. “… It can’t be. You can’t be him. I don’t believe it. I don’t believe it!”
By the end of his words, it came out no differently from a roar.
All that hatred, that animosity, that fury… It had all been bubbling up in his heart for so many years. Now, the man he thought of killing with his own two hands everyday was right before him.
His chest heaved heavily, his breaths coming out quick and short. Unknowingly, beads of sweat fell like the rain from his body.
A mixture of fear and anticipation filled his heart. If there ever was a chance to kill this man, wasn’t it now? Today would be the day. It was his chance.
“Today… I’ll wash away the humiliation I suffered all those years ago.”
Dyon looked up and swept a casual glance over those present. He just happened to have eyes land on Gilpin when the latter spoke these words.
“…”
He paused for a moment. In his eyes, all of these people were dead for daring to bully his little sister in such a way, but Gilpin’s words left him curious.
“… Who the hell are you?”
