- Chapter 302: Isabella's Trial (5/5), A Legend
After they went into outer space, Arkhen quickly contacted Isabella and told her everything that had happened.
“Isabella… Do you think you can come to me after returning to your home in Fishbowl planet?” Arkhen asked with a somber expression.
Isabella turned silent as she looked at Arkhen’s expression. She was wavering in her decision, but after thinking for a bit, she clenched her fist.
“Two months later, we will meet at Paragon’s Dome,” Isabella said with resolve. “I will go there directly once the expedition is over.”
“Alright, we will head there,” Arkhen said with a nod. “Stay safe. Love you.”
…
Arkhen and Lira traveled in the mini-spaceship Stinger Bee for two days before they had to make a landing for fuel.
“After going through the next gate, we’ll arrive at planet Kendroma. Let’s refill there,” Lira said as she put the coordinates to the next warp tunnel and put it on autopilot.
Arkhen was sitting beside her, watching through the news.
However, his eyes had turned terrifyingly cold. When Lira looked at him, she involuntarily shivered and asked, “What happened?”
Arkhen made an expanding motion with his fingers and maximized the hologram.
A news reporter was telling breaking news!
[ Once a hero, now a terrible villain! Arkhen Dawnless raped a little girl and killed her before escaping! ]
[ Fishbowl Police Force has put a $100 million bounty on him! To all bounty hunters, please catch this inhuman criminal! ]
*BAM!*
“They better not have killed that girl just for this!” Arkhen hissed through his gritting teeth with rage.
Lira’s heart also turned cold hearing the news. “I-I am sorry. We should have ta-taken that girl with us.”
Arkhen was cursing in his mutters as he was outraged. ‘If only I had a mech, I would butcher all of them.’
The atmosphere in the cockpit turned heavy.
Arkhen hadn’t realized it, but in this world, in this Arkhen’s body, his consciousness was not as strong. He was suppressed to whatever state limit that people of this trial had.
The things he experienced in this trial would also develop his character and mentality by going through many experiences.
…
After refilling the fuel, the duo continued moving toward Paragon solar system.
It was a long journey going from one solar system to another, even using those warp tunnels stationed in between.
Paragon Solar system was famous for its extensive five-planet solar system. Those five planets were also bigger than average planets.
Paragon’s Dome was an artificial entrance to that solar system. It was a giant space hub.
Time passed as Arkhen and Lira continued escaping, and they also had to sell their Stinger Bee secretly to get another spaceship since Stinger Bee was easily recognized as they left the Fishbowl planet on it.
If they continued moving in Stinger Bee, bounty hunters would catch them.
A month passed as Arkhen and Lira finally arrived at Paragon’s Dome.
“We’ll have to live at some shady place to hide for a month,” Lira said as they landed at Paragon’s Dome.
“The good news is that only my information is spread, not yours. So, you have to make arrangements,” Arkhen said as he was covered in a full robe and a hood that hid his face.
“I can make it, but… How long?” Lira sighed before continuing, “How long will you and Isabella run even after meeting up? As long as there’s a bounty on you, you won’t live a peaceful life.”
Arkhen turned silent with his head down, and a few moments later, he looked at Lira and said, “You can live freely after Isabella, and I meet up.”
“I am also a fugitive. Just not official,” Lira said with a wry smile. “That bastard Dawson didn’t spread my name and make me a criminal because I was working for him. If I were also labeled a criminal and an accomplishment of yours, things would become suspicious instead.”
“I see…” Arkhen nodded as he understood.
“Stay in the ship; I’ll go and make arrangements for our stay,” Lira also covered her face with the hood of the black robe she wore and left.
…
After Lira left, she contacted Isabella.
“Isabella, Arkhen told me to leave you two after you get together with him, but I don’t want to,” Lira said with a stubborn expression.
“What do you mean?” Isabella asked with a frown.
“I…I want to stay with him. He never made a move on me in the past month because of you. He loves only you, but I want to stay with him too.”
Lira bit her lips after speaking and looked at Isabella.
Isabella turned silent. Lira suddenly heard a loud blast from the call projection, but Isabella didn’t waver and asked solemnly. “Do you truly love him?”
“I-I don’t know. But my heart desires to stay with him. I don’t want to separate from him.”
“I can’t do anything if he doesn’t develop feelings for you,” Isabella said while shaking her head. “I am absolutely certain that he loves me deeply. It’s been proven multiple times in the past six years since we’ve been together.”
“Tell him…tell him to sleep with me,” Lira said with resolve. “People can develop feelings after staying close. As long as he loves me even a bit, It’s fine.”
Isabella wryly smiled upon hearing that. “Do you think I can say that to him? He will get angry for sure.”
“Tell him, please… My life has all been about killing and scheming. But with Arkhen, I found a strange peace. Please….give me a chance. I am already doing my best to make a safe hiding place for him until you arrive here.”
“Fine. But Keep him safe for me. It’s is my request to you.”
“I will.”
…
A day later, Lira and Arkhen entered one of the planets of the Paragon solar system and settled down in a dilapidated house that Lira bought using her savings.
“I also have some savings. Use it in your way,” Arkhen said as he transferred half of his savings to Lira.
“This much?” Lira was surprised, and Arkhen had just sent her a million dollars!
“I lied to you about having connections and shit,” Arkhen said with a self-decapitated smile. “The incident that I caused indeed saved people. They sent me money too, but that’s all they could do. The power behind those pirates far exceeded theirs, and that’s why I was living like a dog, suppressed by them. But I was leaving peacefully, so I didn’t really mind. It’s just….”
“That fucking Dogson,” Arkhen gritted his teeth. “I wasn’t expecting trouble from him. Isabella planned to tell him about me after her first outward expedition, but we never expected he would make such moves on me.”
Lira wryly smiled and said, “Because he wanted Isabella to marry Richford’s son.”
“Richford?!” Arkhen was alarmed before becoming furious. “That fucker! Did he want to push his own daughter into the pits of hell to increase his power? Loving father, huh? My ass!”
“Do you want me to tell Isabella about this? I also have proof.”
Arkhen fell into thought. ‘Isabella is already disappointed in her father since he did such dirty things, especially the last act of broadcasting false news.’
“Tell her about it,” Arkhen said with a nod, burning fury visible in his eyes.
Richford family. One of the big shot dark families of the Dragon Swallow Solar System and Fishbowl planet was part of this solar system.
As such, the Richford family had a significant influence on the Dragon Swallow Solar System, and their reach could also extend further because of their business connections.
Most importantly, the power behind the pirate company that Arkhen destroyed belonged to the Richford family!
“I’ll tell Isabella about it tomorrow. Let’s sleep for today. It’s already late night,” Isabella said as she held Arkhen’s hand.
“There’s only one bed,” Arkhen said as he looked around the dilapidated house.
The house had a kitchen and living room in the same box and a single bedroom with a toilet and bathroom.
Lira rolled her eyes and said, “Come on. It’s not like you didn’t sleep with me.”
Arkhen wryly smiled before jumping on the bed.
After they both lay on the bed, Arkhen directly closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Lira saw that and sighed. ‘Did Isabella call him or not?’
Arkhen indeed got Isabella’s call while Lira made arrangements to live on this planet.
However, he didn’t plan to touch Lira even though he had that desire. After all, Lira was a beautiful and sexy woman. Her beauty matched that of Isabella, especially figure-wise.
But he wanted to test her, which is why he stayed in control and wouldn’t touch her.
Time passed as minutes turned into hours and hours into days…
Each day, Lira tried her best, but Arkhen never made a move on her.
He did behave very pleasingly with her every day and even helped her from some goons that followed her when she went out to buy things.
Those goons were more powerful than her, so she had to call Arkhen, and he came while covered in a full robe and hidden face before beating the living hell out of those goons.
Alas, no matter how hard Lira tried, she only felt that Arkhen became her best friend, but nothing more than that.
Finally, Isabella arrived at Paragon’s Dome after a month.
Lira went to pick her up while Arkhen stayed in the house.
“Sorry, the past month was hectic since I had to escape from the expedition team,” Isabella said with a wry smile.
She couldn’t talk with them for the last fifteen days and only managed to contact them today after arriving at Paragon’s Dome.
“It’s fine,” Lira said with a downcast smile. Her eyes were a bit down, and her smile was clearly sad.
“Let’s go. Your Arkhen is waiting for you. Also, I…will leave tomorrow.”
“Why?” Isabella frowned. She knew that her father was after Lira. So it was better that they stayed together to help each other.
Since Isabella could pilot a mech, she was a big protection.
“I can’t stay with Arkhen and you. I can’t bear it,” Lira said as her eyes turned moist. “I tried my best to win his heart, but his heart has no one’s place besides yours.”
Isabella didn’t feel joy seeing Lira like that. It’s not like she was happy to keep Arkhen herself when there was clearly a woman who loved him just like her.
One of the tests of Isabella was to develop a harem mentality, to accept another woman who loved Arkhen because they could resonate with each other.
She had already passed that hurdle because she was now willing to accept Lira being Arkhen’s wife. Those tears and the heartbroken expression on Lira’s face were not fake!
At first, she was still not fully trusting of Lira. The reason she told Arkhen to sleep with her was also because of her distrust. She felt that if Lira’s desire was not fulfilled, she might jeopardize their plan by leaking them to Dawson.
Isabella believed that this was one of the reasons why her father didn’t label Lira as a criminal.
He wanted to use her till the end!
And Isabella was right. Dawson wanted to kill Lira for betraying him, but not before using her to get Arkhen’s whereabouts.
However, after seeing Lira in front of her today, Isabella was sure that Lira truly loved Arkhen!
…
After both girls returned to the dilapidated house, Arkhen saw Isabella and dashed like a gust of wind before hugging her.
Seeing Arkhen hugging Isabella, Lira had mixed feelings. She envied Isabella and also wanted to be loved like that.
However, a big part of her wanted them to stay happy and together seeing how much they loved each other.
“Arkhen… I wanted to say that y-“Isabella was interrupted as Arkhen put his index finger on her lips.
He then turned to Lira and grinned before pulling her by grabbing her hand and hugging her and Isabella together.
“We three are going to stay together. Ahem, of course, you two will be my cute wifeys. But don’t fight, okay? I have enough stamina and powerful enough tool to satisfy both of you until you faint, hahaha.”
…
Arkhen, Lira, and Isabella slept naked on the bed with Arkhen in the middle.
Both girls faced Arkhen on his sides with their tits hugging his chest and Arkhen’s both arms behind their backs.
“Where do we go now? It’s still dangerous outside since Bounty Hunters are looking for you. My father must have gotten information that I ran away and must be finding me,” Isabella said with a worried expression.
“But we also can’t stay here forever because we will be found out eventually,” Lira said with a sigh.
“We are not running anywhere,” Arkhen grinned. “Do you remember that Nexon Star legend?”
“Nexon Star? The place where wishes are fun-filled?! Is there really such a place?” Isabella asked with wide eyes.
“I am not sure, but after I was crippled, I’ve always been searching about it in the hope of repairing the Z region of my brain,” Arkhen said with a smile. “I am still unsure, but I have enough leads for us to start moving in a direction.”
“Let’s go on a journey far from here to find that place. If we find that place, we will return to the Fishbowl planet and take revenge on those who wronged her.”
“I want to know what happened to that girl as well, and if she really died, then Isabella… I will kill your father.”
“If he really did such a thing, then I will kill him myself,” Isabella coldly uttered.
“Don’t forget about those Richards,” Lira said with narrowed eyes. “They ruined Arkhen’s life and also mine. My parents would’ve been alive if it wasn’t for those damn Richfords.”
“Alright, we’ll move out tomorrow,” Arkhen uttered before hugging both girls, “Let’s have a good sleep because the journey from tomorrow is going to be hectic.”
…
Arkhen, Isabella, and Lira finally managed to find the Nexon Star after years.
However, the legend was different from what they expected. The ancient stone on the Nexon Star could indeed fulfill one’s wishes, but it was not without any price.
The price to fulfill their wish was heavy, but Isabella and Lira paid them for Arkhen. They made him the most powerful man in exchange for shorting their lifespan to just two years, weakening them and crippling their Z region.
Arkhen was not willing at first, but he made a decision in his heart and accepted their love for him.
After the three of them returned and took revenge on Isabella’s father and the Richford family, they died peacefully after a year.
