Reborn as the Spirit King - Chapter 12.2
Chapter 12 – Arelia (2) “Then you need to show that you do, since it’s natural for one to stare at beauties. Even more so since men are specialized with acting on instinct, hehe.” Arelia folded her arms very naturally.
Although it wasn’t as much as when she was provoking Viscount Madrane, but her chest still slightly stood out.
“You’re quite open-minded, Arelia.”
“You can just call me Lia. It’s my nickname, so just speak to me comfortably. You’re more than qualified to do so.”
“I will once we become closer.”
“Oh, do you still need more time?”
Arelia had a sullen look that didn’t suit her age.
However, Jade wasn’t fooled as he could immediately tell that she was just messing around.
“Why did you come looking for me?”
“Because I wanted to spar with you before I left.”
“With me?”
“Yes, although other people might not know it, but I know that you’re a Master. It seemed like you were keeping it a secret, so I didn’t tell anyon.”
Arelia grinned.
Although she had come to Paulstein to help the two siblings, she wasn’t close enough to them to tell them about Jade.
To be exact, she had only come to help because of the request she had received from Clara.
“Thanks for that.”
“As sensible as he is, Heinze doesn’t seem to have realized it yet either. Well, I can understand why. Even among elves, there aren’t many that can summon a high-level spirit.”
Arelia meaningfully smiled as if to say that she knew more about him but wasn’t willing to say anything.
Furthermore, she was glancing above Jade’s shoulders and looking from one shoulder to the other.
Although she was only able to summon mid-level spirits, she could still feel Celestine and Elestra’s presence.
-She shouldn’t be able to see us.
-That’s for sure, but it’s different if she can feel us. With the keen senses of a Master elf, it could be possible.
Even as Arelia stared at where Celestine and Elestra were, the two spoke without reserve.
It was because they knew that she could only feel that they were there but couldn’t actually see them.
-But how is Hwid able to see us?
-Isn’t it because we were there as soon as it was born? Or it could be that Hwid is special. Although rare there are some monsters that can handle spirits, and to put it bluntly, can’t dragons form contracts with spirits too?
-That makes sense.
Celestine nodded her head, as Elestra’s word made sense to her.
-To begin with, it’s a dragon type too.
As Elestra smiled, she carefully rubbed Hwid’s cheek as it was laying within Jade’s arms.
However, it quickly turned its head as if it were still sulking about something, yet even this was still cute to Elestra and Celestine.
“If you refuse, then there’s nothing I can do about it.”
“Fine.”
“As I thought, I knew you would except the spar.”
“I am a swordsman you know, so let’s just spar using swordsmanship.”
“Thanks for your consideration.”
Arelia smiled as she lowered her head.
She knew she would be at a disadvantage if they were to fight with spirits.
Although she wouldn’t lose quickly, she wasn’t confident that she could win either as she hadn’t completely figured Jade out yet.
“Shall we move to a different location. The Royal Palace isn’t good to spar properly as there are many eyes, and it’s a bit too cramped for us.”
“True, we can’t hurt others. Scylla.”
With Arelia’s summon, a mid-level wind spirit appeared.
Like the one contracted with Jade, this Scylla also took on the shape of a Pegasus and stared at Jade with loving eyes, even though Arelia was the one to summon it.
“You’re definitely someone who’s loved by the spirits.”
“I’m thankful for it.”
Another Scylla appeared as Jade smiled.
Even without calling its name, the spirit now reacted with just a mere thought from him, and seeing this, Jade smiled and gently patted it on the back of the neck.
-Hwid should be able to carry Jade if it grows just a little more.
-It should be able to carry him well even now, but it’ll probably be a little sloppy. It should also be slower than Scylla.
Celestine mumbled as she stared at Jade on top of Scylla.
She felt that Hwid could carry him soon if it continued to grow at the pace that it was.
-I can ride it now!
-You can’t call that riding.
Elestra stared at Celestine with bewilderment.
To begin with, Celestine was a wind spirit that didn’t have any weight to her, so it didn’t make sense for her to say that she rode on top of Hwid.
-Either way, I rode it~!
As the two spirits were arguing with each other, Jade told the servant outside the entrance to his door that he was going to be going out.
He believed they would be worried if both he and Arelia suddenly disappeared.
Unwanted rumors could begin spreading and there was nothing wrong with being careful as there were many eyes watching them.
Riding on Scylla, both Arelia and Jade rose high into the air and quickly flew away from the Royal Palace.
They had found a place where they could spar without reserve as they were both Masters.
“Follow me. There’s a place I found a little while ago.”
“It’s seems you planned everything from the beginning.”
“It’s not often I get to have these types of spars, and I’m sick of fighting with the other elves now.”
“I’m a bit envious that your village has many Masters, summoners, and mages.”
Jade honestly appeared to look envious as he followed behind Arelia, and at the same time, he was able to feel that the world was huge.
Although it was rare to find those who were as strong as Arelia, there were probably many that were around the same strength as her.
There were probably some elves that were even stronger than her.
“It’s not all good though. Although people say we’re more aggressive than the other elves, we’re still considered to be elves. There are even some War Elves that don’t like fighting. There are even those that die without fighting even once, so to a certain extent, we’re pretty similar to humans. Not all humans are evil and destructive.”
“That’s true.”
There were humans that were kind and good-natured.
Only, those who were evil were just more noticeable to others.
“What about this spot?”
“Seems fair.”
“If it’s this place, we can utilize our strength without reserve.”
