Reborn For Revenge: Mr. Smith Can You Handle it? - Chapter 12
“This marriage is cancelled.”
Chris felt as if he was hearing things.
Did she just say marriage is cancelled? From where in the fucking world did she have the courage to call off the marriage?
Wasn’t she the one who was trying to get him to marry her all these years? She was chasing after him like a dog running after its master.
‘This is not time to think about that.’ Chris cleared his mind of any other unnecessary thoughts and focused on the problem at his hands at the moment.
Fuck the plan that was ruined…This was much more important for him.
“Sherry honey what do you mean you are calling off the marriage.” Chris was trying to appease Sherry before trying anything else.
Even if the plan failed, they could execute a plan some other time but it was only possible as long as Sherry was dancing in his palm.
But with the marriage gone, tables were going to turn around for them. He could not let that happen.
“Its exactly like you heard. The marriage is off, we are done.” Sherry took out the veil from her head and threw it right at his face.
Even while showing such an extreme action of hatred, Sherry’s face was expressionless.
The priest who had been standing all this time looked at the two people before him and asked in all seriousness.
“Is there some problem, Miss Sherry and Mister Chris?” Shrewdly he looked at both of them simultaneously.
“Yes.” Sherry replied with a calm stature.
“No.” Chris quickly denied there being any problem.
Two different answers rang out at the same time.
The guests had also realized that they were witnessing something instead of wedding that they had come to attend.
But did they mind it? Nope, they did not mind this change in event by not even a bit.
“Forget about the wedding…This is much more interesting.”
Currently almost all of the guests were looking forward to the fight between the two young people who were about to get married.
“This is the scoop we need..This is the best.” A reporter from the ABC news was taking notes and even recording the whole event in his camera.
Wirth this piece of news, he knew it was going to be worthwhile. He suspected he might even be able to get the highest rating ever if their agency was the first one to release this news.
It was a big news surrounding one of the influential family in the city.
Meanwhile in the wedding altar, Chris had grabbed Sherry’s wrist and was trying to reason with her forcefully.
“Whatever you are mad at, let’s talk it later okay honey?” In a sickeningly sweet voice as if he was trying to coax a lover in to giving in to his demands, he approached Sherry.
“Let’s resume the wedding.” Chris had already done quick thinking. Since the plan had failed, the vest course of action was marrying Sherry to keep her under their grasp.
Sherry did nothing but looked silently at the place where his hands were grabbing her.
“Here, put this on.” He picked up the white silk veil and tried putting it on the top of her heads. With the flick of her hands she swatted away the hands that were trying to put the veil on top of her.
“Don’t you dare touch me…” Sherry was finally showing raging emotions in her deep hazel eyes.
“Chris, Or should I say Mr. Chris.” Sherry finally spoke but there was a mocking tone in her voice.
Chris felt there was something wrong with how she was addressing him. Raising his head, he could see the guest looking at them with round googly eyes as if they were enjoying a show in theatre.
And was it pity he was seeing in those predating eyes? Chris felt a sense of humiliation rush over his entire self.
This won’t do..He felt anger rise with in him engulfing his consciousness in flames of humiliations.
If there was one thing he hated, it was being looked down upon by others. It was his male ego in action.
“W-Why are you acting like this and making fun of both of us?” Chris pulled her near him and whispered through his gritted teeth in her ear.
“Behave and say sorry to me now…I will pretend this never happened.” Chris commanded her as he knew Sherry was even willing to die for him if he asked her.
“I will even forgive you for your insolence.” Chris held her hand tightly and whispered once again.
He thought it was her rare cases of terrible mood swings because of which she was acting the way she was now.
A little warning from him was enough for her to snap back to her sense. He deluded himself.
“Apologize?” Sherry wanted to laugh at Chris who was still thinking he could control Sherry by blackmailing her with emotions.
How great was the man she was about to marry? Sherry was almost speechless as she witnessed the shamelessness of her fiancé and lover.
“Yes, apologize to me and to the guest who had arrived here today.” Chris set the rules as if he was the one in command.
“……”, This ungrateful scum bag. Lucia could not clam down her anger and emotions.
Under the impulse, Sherry did something she had never done before.
She dedicated what she was going to do exclusively to Chris. She raised her hand and pointed her middle finger at Chris and spoke the first ever cursing words she ever used.
“Fuck you, Chris.”
Chris who had never seen or heard her swear, “…..”
The priest who was holding the bible, “……..”
Levian Smith who was looking at the screen enthusiastically, “…….”
The cameraman wondered if they might have to edit out this part in the news. He hoped not as for some reason he thought the young missy looked cool when she did that.
“We are in public…Behave yourself Sherry.” Chris had never liked the naïve Sherry but he did not hate her either.
But the sherry before him was like a serpent that was trying to bind itself around his neck and choke him. He hated this Sherry more than anything.
Sherry had realized that Chris had a hand in her death along with Bella and her uncle and aunt’s family. After buying the dress the last evening, she spent her entire time thinking things through.
Cheating was one thing but betrayal to the point of killing her was something else. Sherry was not a saint who had compassionate heart which forgave anyone.
“We are in public so that is why I am doing this.” Sherry showed an unusual smile that was different from her usual bright and sunny smile.
“I want you to feel humiliated…What I am doing is as simple as that.” Sherry spoke neither hastily nor leisurely.
Seeing that made Chris even more irritated than he already was.
“You….” Chris was about to say something and had even raised his hand to hit her when suddenly Mrs. Lona, Sherry’s aunt came running from the Villa and stood in front of Chris.
Sherry looked at the panting aunt and felt something was not right inside the house.
“Chris…..Its Bella…..” Mrs.. Lona stuttered as she informed Chris.
