Reborn For Revenge: Mr. Smith Can You Handle it? - Chapter 17
“Why are you standing there like some mannequin?” Levian raised his head and looked at Roy, his secretary who was standing in the same position and same expression for around twenty minutes.
“Boss, you are working so I did not want to disturb you,” Roy answered with in a few seconds. With a flick of his index finger he lifted the glass on his nose and looked at Levian who was observing him for quite a while.
“After all, I am a mere secretary. I can wait.” He flashed a look at Levian.
Levian’s brow twitched when he heard Roy’s answer which forced him to stop whatever he was doing. He placed down his pen and took a break for a while to hear whet Roy had to say to him.
Seeing that Levian had finally put down his pen and had stopped working, Roy brought out a file to him.
“What’s this?” Roy asked as he took the file and started t go through it. As soon as he opened the file, a smiling lady in beautiful red dress came in to his sight.
“What is this?” Levian immediately got angry when he saw this. Behind the photo there were few others photo that were filled with equally beautiful and elegant looking ladies.
He recognized some of the ladies who were from some really prominent and big families. He had seen then when he had attended a few of the business parties.
“Did you come to disturb me…. for this?” Levian had thought he must have had a good reason for coming in to his office but it was all just few photos of girls.
He threw the file directly in the dustbin that was on the table beside him and stared at Roy to give him explanation .
Roy watched him throw the file but did not give any reaction. After his boss had calmed down a little bit, he decided to spill the beans.
“The chairman heard that you went to a wedding today.” Roy informed Levian who upon hearing this suddenly realized what was going on. More or less, he could get the gist of it.
“That old man did?” Levian asked, trying to confirm.
“Yes Sir.” Roy nodded his head and continued.
“His personal butler came in person to deliver these files to me and said I had to deliver it to you as soon as possible.”
“Mr. Sam came himself?” Levian was even more surprised. Sam Brown was his grand father’s oldest and the most trusted subordinate. The fact that Mr. Sam himself had to approach them meant one thing and only one thing.
The matter was really important.
“Then these photos of young ladies..” Levian raised his eye brows in a questioning look.
“Boss, these came in recently. The chairman wants you to choose any one of the girl and go on a blind date.” Roy did not know where the courage came to him but he hi self was surprised when he spurted out the taboo word to his boss.
His boss, Levian Smith was a mysophobic person who hated things like romance, dates and marriages.
“Good..Good very good.” Levian had expected this t happen sooner or later but little did he think that it will be today when he will be getting this.
He let out a small chuckle when he thought about how his good day got ruined by some photos.
“So, boss are you choosing anyone? I need to inform Mr. Sam.” Roy asked unaware of his Boss’s current psychological and emotional state.
“Of course….” Levian stood up from his seat and went towards Roy making him flinch.
“Of course, I am not going to go on these silly dates.” Levian patted him on his shoulder and let out a sigh.
“I do not want unnecessary problems.” Levian spoke in a dangerous tone sending shivers down the spine of Roy. “Tell him that I do not plan to go on dates and get married yet.”
“But boss…” Roy had to inform back to the chairman, the old master after all.
“Fine..I will call him myself.” Levian looked at the pale face of Roy. He knew if h did not end this matter now, his grand father will continue ending in photos of the girls until he gave in.
But he did not have any plans to get married. He knew marriage was only going to hold him down from his dreams and goals.
He had seen people ruining themselves due to marriage and this addiction called romance.
As for woman, they were emotional creatures that could do anything and by anything he did not even want to get on that topic.
That was why he remained off of the case of anything related to woman and that included dating and marriage.
“But, who the hell told him about me going off to a wedding?” Levian wondered aloud while shifting his gaze to Roy who once again flinched at his gaze.
“I..I- cerat-tain-nly did not..haha…” Roy took three steps back and maintained a safe distance between them. How could he tell him that his grand father had been keeping tabs on his action especially if they involved any woman.
‘There is no way I can tell him that, can I?’ Roy grimaced inwardly as he looked at the dark expression on Levian’s face.
‘Ahahaha…I just dug my own grave didn’t I?’ Roy chuckled inside his heart.
“…..”, Levian was speechless at Roy. He was totally sold by his own secretary to his grand father.
But what done was done and there was no use crying over spilled milk. Levian took out his phone and scrolled down the contacts.
Well, there were only few contacts in there considering he did not have many friends and relatives. The people he was close with could be counted in his hands.
~~The Family house of the Smith Family~~
An old man was in his study room looking through a file while taking sip of herbal tea. Taking in to the facts that he had almost white hair which only covered a little portion of his bald head, his wrinkle skin and also his weak body, he looked quite old.
Just as he was about to turn the pages, the door to the room opened with a creaking sound and a man dressed smartly in an attire of a butler walked in.
“Master, I have arrived.” The man gave a slight bow and stood in an attentive position right beside the old master.
“Ohh…you are here?” The old man on the chair looked up at the butler through his spectacles.
“So, how did it go?” Trying to hide his anxiousness, Levian’s grand father asked Sam.
“I have handed the materials to him like you have asked of me.” He replied with a calm tone that came with his decades of working .
“Good..good..” Levian’s grandfather looked somewhat relieve when he heard that. Sam caught his expression and he could not hold in his curiosity anymore.
“Master, I have a question I want to ask, if you may.” Sam stepped forward and asked politely.
Levian’s grand father nodded his head and asked him to go on with his question.
“Master, was it something really that important?” Sam asked with out any reserve. He just followed his order and sent the file to the young master while he himself had not a single idea what it could be.
Levian’s grandfather was silent for a while making Sam a little bit nervous.
“That boy went to attend a wedding for the first time ever.” He started his explanation but he ended it right there and instead asked him a question.
“Do you know what that means?” He placed forward his question.
“Err…I am sorry master. I am really clueless on this matter.” The butler answered in all honesty.
“Sheesh…It means he had finally realized the importance of marriage.” The old man gave a ‘Are you a dumb guy?’ look to Sam.
Sam, “…” That’s what you think and only you!! Sam yelled inwardly but maintained a clam face.
“Then master…Ahemm…the file…what was it about?” Sam let out cough and asked trying to stay in track of the conversation.
“Ohh..It was just a file containing data on my potential future daughter in laws..” The old man gave out a jolly laughter as if the marriage was already about to happen.
